The Splinters are sentience, always. But probably the Divine Breath doesn't develop a great degree of Sentience because it had something who control its (The Returned himself). We know that the "power without guide in time develops sentience" but the Divine Breath just after its creation (Endowment's Splintering) find a guide. The Divine Breath must have a bit of Sentience and an own Intent but it's probably something more basic, like a primitive Instinct to guide the Returned.

Yes my idea is "pretty but there is a problems with it. - The "MyHemalurgy" can't steal end-negative magic (only with atium). - Some "powers", the physical one have 2 quadrant and therefore there is a 50% about what metal could steal them. - The God metals and their alloy are useless (with the exception of Atium) and seems to me strange. It's quite oddly to find contros to your own Theory
-
To be honest my "idea" about the hemalurgy was that "Steal Allomantic Cognitive powers" is "Steal End-Positive Cognitive Powers" and the same with "Feruchemical End-Neutral" (and of course with Physical/Spiritual). But there isn't proof about therefore I have to be realist and think that probably there is another "rules"
-
The point of Voidus was that from the other "complete quadrant" of the Hemalurgy's metal we may see that in any quadrant 2 metals steal Human's trait, one a Power from the same Quadrant in the Feruchemy and One a power from the Same Quadrant in Allomancy. There is no metal left to other magic systems

Sorry Landis I didn't understand that you need the pronunciation. I made this little audio file with the speaked version of the previous sentences. they are in the same order and at the beginning I say it's number. I have sore throat today, therefore don't pay no attention to the voice please XD https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5CxVzPLZ0CpMGVlRE1CTnR5Zk0/view?usp=sharing

The High Imperial in Italian: Chapter 24 English: "Niceing the not on the playing without." (Spook) Portuguese: "Favor não brincar sem." (Spook) It: "Con la gente così giocare senza essendo bello" En: "Losing the stress on the nip. Notting without the needing of care." (Kelsier) Pt: "Perdendo força do aperto. Sem necessidade de cuidado." (Kelsier) It: "A te preoccupando non è il dovere. La pena del valore essendo senza" En: "Riding the rile of the rids to the right." (Spook) Pt: "Enredar o enredo dos desembaraços do direito." (Spook) It: "Il tuo segno del cogliere pensando è a me" En: "Wasing the was of brightness. Nip the having of wishing of this." (Spook) Pt: "Sendo o ser da brilhanteza. Cortar o ter de querer isso." (Spook) IT: "L'intelligenza della prova a lui è volento. Il desiderio nel agire così il suo dimostrando è. En: "Ever wasing the wish of having the have." (Kelsier) Pt: "Sempre tendo que fazer isso." (Kelsier) It: "Il suo sempre essere così è" To me the High Imperial it's like Old Italian (like Dante Alighieri) but with a bit of Master Joda (switch the order ot the words in the sentences).

Maybe the Initiation is about a threshold form the average interation with the Investiture and became a "magic user". The moment through one Human begin to "intuitively to manipulate a form of manifestation of investiture". Some example could be: Scadrial: Family descend and Misting anomaly (without Preservation's upgrade) Nalthis: Shard's decision through the sending of Returned or the reach of a some amount of Breath and their "easy awakening". Elantris: Shaod to Aondor, mental and physical fortitude to a Dhrakor and possibly strong dedication to Forgery (possibly also to the Chainsaw and Bloodseal). Note: To be honest I think that the "dedication" is the key part to all the Selish magics but it's just a theory. Roshar: The "broken" condition that could be "needed" to all form of investiture of Roshar. From Surgebinding to the research of the Night Watch.
-
Sure, but the Listener and the GreatShell seem to be "made" with the need of a Spren-Bond. Without they are like "a drab" they miss something of their spirit web. My point was about the Roshar's lifeform evolved/created to could make Spren-Bond. We don't know how they do this bond. We don't know even if a Human (the bein most similar to a Mistwraith) may bond a Spren of his own will. We will discover further when Rlain told us more about his people or when the Fabrial's creation will be explain. PS: If a bond is granted through Hemalurgy, you lost if the spike is removed. The Spike is the junction between the spren and your spirit web.

The only difference between a Mistwraith and a Kandra is their Intellect. In a WoB the mistwraith are descibed as "twisted humans with a block on the cognitive realm" the Hemalurgy help to jump this block. My Thought: It's theoretical possible to create "something like a kandra" without the Hemalurgy, giving them some form of Investiture. The Breath is the more easy (but I don't know how many breaths). With the "bonding spren" I think that are very very hard. Because naturally there is no way to bond with a lesser spren as far as we know (or at least the only that come to mind it's using the Hemalurgy ) some Roshar's liveform seems to be capable of this feat. But probably is the resoult of an envirorment where the "bond" are easy and the gain is huge. The Evolution choose this way on Roshar. With a Radiant Spren I can't see what in a Mistwraith may attract a Radiant Spren. But the whole thing is quite fascinating

There is an Huge difference. Preservation was a whole Shard who follow the Leras's Orders also if Leras was quite mindless. Honor was Splintered and it's Splinters developed an our mind. They are not under the "Tanavast's control". His cognitive's shadow may try to follow its orders but Honor had a very poorly futuresight and he probably can't see far in the future. He even didn't know who will recive his "visions". This is the reason I really doubt that he made a plan for a "heir".

There is some errors in the first post. - AoL is a little after of SA maybe some years not 300 years. - Jasnah probably didn't worldhopp in any other Shardworld (until now) and if she did it, there is no sure proof (unless the bag). - There is a WoB about the "Tanavast is dead". - Preservation at the time of Mistborn was no Splintered, it just "lost" most of his Mind, the Shard was whole and Leras was its Holder. In Roshar we may see the Splinter of Honor and Therefore there are two different situation. - The Stormfather thinks that Honor is dead (and He is his Cognitive Shadow). - The Stormfather tried to kill Kal and avoid his bond with Syl. It may be a good idea, but there is too much strange things.
-
Probably (or at least is what I Think) The Shards balanced the whole Adonalisium, not just a pair. But like big and strange-form part of a puzzle. Something like (it's just a stupid example) the main part of Odium is balanced by a big part of Devotion and a bit of Honor. The remain part is balanced by some of Endowment and the remain of Endowment is balanced by Autonomy ecc.....

The Human of the Cosmere are all based on the Yolish Human. Some was created by Adonalsium, some migrated from planets with humans and some was created by the Shards using their homeworld species as references. On Sel (Elantris) there are two Shards: Devotion and Dominion, maybe you talk about Nalthis (Warbreaker) ? Anyway we don't know when Endowment arrive on Nalthis and He/She may come to a planet with pre-shattering Humans.

Well guys (and of course ladies ), you convinced me and I forced a friend of mine to read SoS in english. It was quite wonderfull until our Sanderson's works National Publisher annunced that Firefight will be release in a few days. Yeah, you read right, Firefight (Reckoners 2) it's just 9-10 months after the Original Release .Therefore first Firefight and then SoS. And probably after a begin to follow only the English release- 58 replies

They lived separated from the normal people and they was workship like gods. The people don't know many Elantrian as individual, nless you know one Elantrian to you everybody is the same. Something like "Elantrian's death" was something hidden or of couse there isn't the "Immortality legend". Therefore unless you know an Elantrian and He dies, you can't know about his death. This is true if the Elantrians could live 200 or 2000 years. End I rememers that my previous post was about what i think about, I haven't any proof and of course I may be wrong.
-
Sure but on First of the Sun and the minor Shardworld at all, the amount of Investiture is too low for a Magic System like Allomancy,Feruchemy, Hemalurgy, Surgebinder, ecc... The minor Shardworld magic isn't something that you can use it, it's more "interact with something with magic ability". There is a WoB about the minor Shardworld magic.
-
It's quite what Honor do. Make bond and rely on someone else.
-
The Elantrian have longer life than the standard human but I don't think that they are live more than 200 years (not proof). Now I don't remember if the Father of our favorite Dula, became an Elantrian after his born or not. But Sereene didn't worry about the "having children" therefore I think that a Elantrian's children is just Humans.

Simply because Honor (in the way that we saw in SA) is about "put together", Endewment instead is about give away. I don't say that the Honor-Endowment are surely opposite shards, but with the Shard that we know (at the moment) is just the one who fits better.
-
Endowment could be the opposite to Honor. Give away and spread power, instead of make bond.
-
Another "unkwon fact" is that we don't know how much a Charge-lost influences the Allomantic/Feruchemist powers and unlucky we don't know how many power is lost also if the Spike is never out-of-body. Example: I like your "version 2 sixth root with 1 year of half life" (also if i suppose we have to go on more than sixth root). After 1-2 minutes out of body, our Spike lost something like 10% of its power. From the PoV of an Allomancer have the 90% instead of 100% it's a "great lost" ?

I understand quite well the English and indeed I read Emperor's Soul, Sixth of the Dusk, Shadows for Silence and White Sand in English. But there was "short" readings and they will never published in my country. Unfortunately if I am reading in English I miss details or misunderstood things (And with Cosmere's Novel may be worse of Death ).- 58 replies

We saw only Syl from the Honorspren's "race", it could be impossible to say. The only type of spren we saw in set are the Cryptics but it's quite hard to understand if there was all male or some female.

Who Are The Most Powerful People/Beings In The Cosmere?
Yata replied to Patar's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Sure but we don't know if Ruin give them all the powers, I think there isn't enough Mistborn/Feruchemyst to do something like that. Probably many of the extra spikes to Marsh and the others was Iron/Tin Spike (Strenght and Sense) used to have a better controll over the Inquisitors. Anyway for example Marsh can't probably burn/store the Malatium (and the other 15 Atium's Alloy) also if he has an Atium Spike.
