Yeah I'm kinda stuck cause like If Striker E, he is absolutely playing in the exact way to pocket v!Me. So like, I really appreciate your no meta fresh perspective! I can definitely see you being right! But I just don't feel it's right in my gut, even while having no good reason to defend him? Idk I'm playing this game super surface level / emotion based tbh, also not trying to overthink too much. But gut was right on Archer even when my brain was like "meh" so like... Idk. I'm still kinda hung up on the fact I'm alive too. Most likely because doctor dodge yet still torn, and whoever decided to kill Experience... I will have choice words for you in the dead doc because I was really enjoying his effort and I'd have rather saw him work more for at least one more cycle before he got ruthlessly murdered Existence is pain for a meseeks ED1T: Can't edit in Mat quote cause mobile but @Matrim's Dice basically I have a really bad habit of townreading players that sus me and wolfreading players that trust me too early. I usually feel like elims should know better to get on my bad side (*cough Archer cough*) because I will not hesitate to outcase them if I'm being pushed in a way I vehemently disagree with Idk yeah tbf maybe you just gut knew I was Town but I have no clue why and that concerns me I could be MR56 tunneling you rn but I'm more interested in collapsing multiple elim realities rn than I am in hard pushing you Devo self pressing two cycles in a row with minimal solving doesn't give me a lot of confidence in v!her or e!you tho

Something something Mat isn't paranoid enough of me for me to believe he is Village something something Idk too lazy and half-asleep to do any cases but there's multiple things surrounding Mat that I don't feel line up in a he's-Village kind of way =/ Like I *want* to believe in him and give a pass but Like I think the main thing is... I've done nothing (besides wall-vote Archer) to indicate I'm Villlage really? Yet on D1 Mat didn't suspect I was trying to get him ML'd or anything? He just kinda rolled with the punches in a way that's like "Well of course v!Aman suspects me D1, I'm E!" and I feel Archer specifically harped on my D1 thought experiment thing for Mat ("setting up Mat to fail" - which I hard disagree with btw) as a way to discredit me and sorta defend his ally? Like the question I guess is the same question with Devo. Was Archer consciously framing a suspected Villager by defending him? Or was Archer (sub)consciously defending a partner to not lose him D1? If Archer framed Devo/Mat, I absolutely believe he was bussed / or distanced by Shadow/Kas. Like if Striker flips town like I feel he will, E!Shadow equity shoots up imo, no matter how big a fan I am of Shadow But I also have zero reason to defend Striker other than TWTBW so like... meh KILL THEM ALL I SAY. RENOUNCE INDECISION AND MURDER SPREE INSTEAD It's a sad day when the player I trust the most of not betraying me is the bread guy ED1T: Illwei @Ashbringer idk Illwei's heart doesn't feel in the game either and I kinda think this wagon is pure

I doubt I'll be on for rollover either. I trust the Village to make the right calls without me. Or at the very least, I hope things are more exciting

Yeah not a big deal, just want to clarify since Striker asked why I said he was doing it when he didn't claim But there is an important distinction since in the manner I'm referring to, villagers can totally open wolf in the sense that they're not overtly village.

Again, that's our used definition of open wolfing, but the original term doesn't necessarily require claiming elim; it just means not acting overtly village.

Yeah this is basically where I've been at both Devo and Mat's responses were sus for completely different reasons, and they've interacted on the topic enough that it feels not E/E so... safest call imo is to yeet them both ED1T: TBH, Illwei's response was very weird too in a way that makes me want to kill her? Like, she basically told people not to react at all, which could be e!motivated to stop me from getting accurate village reads. I also find her stances this game to be wildly different than the game @shadow1 and I played with 2 person neighborhoods. In that, she was encouraging neighborhood reveals and she even did a reaction test by claiming to be neighbors with me. So idk... pretty weird if you ask me.

Hm, I have my own reasons to suspect Mat, but that very specifically is... not really a point against him? Like, Mat was 100% right. That's more or less exactly how it went down. Experience said he wanted to April Fool's Day claim elim as a joke, I encouraged him to do it but don't reveal it was a joke until there's some time for me to see how people react, and no one else said "lol that's dumb" so Experience went through with it. That's what he originally said, and I don't think it's as bad as TJ is painting it to be rn. BUT There was this exchange that happened yesterday: Devo: Mat: Me: I basically find it ironic that Mat was cautioning against us revealing doc mates to see if any elims would slip only to immediately figure out what me/Exp were up to. I almost think Archer reported it to the Disruptors immediately so Mat knew ahead of time (or at least that Archer told the Disruptors who was in his doc, and Mat quickly put 2 and 2 together); though if true, I'm extremely surprised he would let that info slip so easily? It almost reminds me of like... how I instantly knew Meerkat was a Tineye after the fake Meerkat claim thing in AN8? Really suspicious information turnaround? So... Matrim. I guess past me did tell present me to vote here today ED1T: @StrikerEZ if you really want a tie, I'd recommend Devo.

I do actually prefer multi-death ties versus RNG ties. Very high risk, high reward feature that can greatly benefit the Village and Elims both. But the problem is basically that no one has talked about it (at least that I've seen) while I'm 100% sure the elims have been already thinking and strategizing with this in mind. So yeah. We could theoretically collectively decide to clear multiple slots at once if we decide the information gain is worth the risk of hastening parity. I am very much not opposed to Matrim/Devo/Illwei all dying today, FWIW.

Oh right, ties are a problem we need to deal with now. Hm. Oh yeah so like, that definition of openwolf is how we've used it historically in SE. But the true definition is a wolf that doesn't even bother obscuring their alignment in how they push agenda. You can read this "guide" to openwolfing if you want to know more https://www.mafiauniverse.com/forums/threads/20826-18-A-Practical-Guide-to-Open-Wolfing-(by-Mantichora) And technically, villagers can "openwolf" this way, it's more of a very direct playstyle kinda thing. Illwei probably knows more about openwolfing than I do tbh

NGL I believe the Honest Abe Toast, Baker lock town. Also naan ftw. ED1T: On a more serious note re:Baker, I actually do think he's just Town. He's being more forthright than I'd expect with this kind of schtick - the bread/bad buckets - and even without knowing his reasons, I don't find myself disagreeing with most of his takes. Still would prefer him to give more detailed thoughts eventually - especially near the endgame - but I do find his posts entertaining / feel they break up the monotony in a fun way.

I will say that I would never try to misyeet you as a wolf, I would just NK you or try to pocket you, even if I was sure it would fail, just for the fun of it. If you've telegraphed you're Village this game, that's a me problem rather than a you problem, so don't sweat it I just am not super invested in the game rn. Doesn't help that I'm sad Experience got NK'd before me =\ he definitely was more into this game than I am presently feeling and that makes me feel bad for not scaring the elims enough - or scaring them too much that they think I'd get protected - to go for him instead The style of question is me 100%, I just usually do more with it. The neighborhood game was a lil different because I basically didn't know any player but Illwei and Schweppes, whereas here I can rely on past interactions with players to sway my vibes. I also had a lot more WIM then, but I'm presently burned out on mafia + feel a bit of survivor's guilt - especially because of the aforementioned lack of WIM. ED1T: All in all I'm just trying to have fun and mutedly solve along the way at my own pace. Don't feel like being a town leader this game especially, and I'd not mind getting killed tonight if the elims are down to shoot me

1) That was more of a joke with Kas. We both hate being wolves. We have a kind of pact going where if we believe the other is a wolf, we will do whatever we can to put the other out of their misery. I was half referencing that pact, half trying to see if he'd react in a way that might tell me his alignment. I'm still uncertain, which is part of the problem 2) This kinda connects to answer 1, but I'll often ask people things or say things not because the question itself is important, but just to see how people answer / react the question / statement in a general sense. I like to think about it like casting out a net, except instead of fish I'm looking for microreads. Kinda like my (albeit sometimes off) soul reads, I'm pretty good at getting accurate microreads / tone reads. For that question in particular, I want to understand the mindset behind the player. I suspect that most wolves, for example, will be very wary about casting suspicion on their doc mates - especially after the D1 push Archer tried to do on me - because it's a form of communication outside the thread they can use to pocket other players, sway their votes, and gather information. 3) I mostly work by negative space hunting tbh, which is basically "find as many townreads as I can and start yeeting in the null category" until I find someone I very specifically feel is a wolf. Devo in particular is a player I always feel like I have trouble reading, but I also feel like when she is Town, it becomes clear after a certain amount of initiative and activity, whereas when she's not-Town aligned, I don't ever find anything overtly suspicious, but I just fail to find that certain je nais se quoise, if that makes sense. As of right now I'm not getting that town-aligned feeling, and I'm not feeling specifically worse about any other slot, so that's where I'm sitting atm with hopes of v!Devotary coming in and giving that feeling. ED1T: Oh right sorry will get in now my WIM for this game has been unusually low and I keep getting distracted by other things (doesn't help I'm in two other games at the same time + I've played a lot of mafia lately, so I'm a little burned out).

TBH more than the Disruptor thing, I appreciate TJ going though his process in doc a lot; it's more than I've seen in thread and that's the main reason he's in my PoE Devo currently the better yeet by far. (also sorry for being low-effort, but that's probably how I'm gonna be for a bit. Want other people to start taking initiative like Experience did D1/N1. I'm tired of wallposting :P) ED1T: Inb4 E!TJ V!Devo xD

I guess I need the context to accurately judge like Did TJ think his role was Diplomat, and that's how it came up? Or was this after someone flipped Diplomat?

*resisting urge to clear Illwei for being funny and indignant* I'm serious tho, if you think Archer was bussed, I want your opinion. You know Shadow and her play as well as I do, are more likely a better judge of Kas than I am because ThreadPMBros bias, and are good at mafia in general, so if you're Village, I really would appreciate your perspective on both of them + Devo. Even your thoughts on me would be useful for me. What about looking at the CWs is weird exactly?

I edited my last post btw @Illwei do you think Shadow pulled a Schweppes with Kas being Cape for the second game in a row? Or do you think Kas pulled a QF59 by following Shadow onto a D1 bus? Or do you think Devo self-pressed because she has a role and Archer didn't? Or, perhaps, do you think I'm an elim that did wolf theater with Archer in our Empire doc and in thread, and I never actually intended for him to get yeeted D1 but the village ran away with my accusations while I was asleep?

LHF = Low Hanging Fruit I have the benefit of knowing Thaid is Village now, but I was explicitly dangling him with my fourth "I wanted to fit in" vote + "overselling my confidence in e!Thaid" as Archer put it I feel TJ might have taken the bait. I don't really believe V!TJ decides that Thaid is the best wagon in any D1 tbh. It's just too easy and safe. ED1T: Looking at this (totally not innacurate :p) VC again... Striker/Araris can't be E/E with Devo Devo most likely busser if she has a role Matrim, Baker, and TJ all sus for voting with Archer, for Archer, on the LHF wagon Yeah still content with my vote and since Kas brought it up, e!TJ would clear Kas and I can stop worrying about him plus we can ask a Dakhor Monk to coinshot Devo tonight too
