  1. Sorry for my absence, everyone. Work these last few days have been particularly preoccuping, and yesterday was one of those days where everything that could go wrong, did. I'm afraid I need to backtrack through the last few threads because while I have read most of the posts I haven't had the chance to analyze them thoroughly enough to add anything useful. As for Araris, what do you want to hear from me exactly? I thought I had explained my theories and perspective well enough, but if there was something specific that came off odd to you let me know so I can try to clarify it.
  2. One idea I have been toying around with for quite a while now involves a world in a binary star system as well, though it's a bit different then what I've seen mentioned here before. Rather than the planet orbiting both stars at once, it is constantly being exchanged between the two to orbit one, then the other, in a figure eight formation. There is a long year (65 weeks long) where it orbits the large white sun, Helior and a short year (34 weeks) where it orbits the small yellow sun, Solei. There is also a season that lasts only one week while it's in the center of both. They call a complete orbit of both stars a eul, and the inhabitants of the world measure their age by them. Because a eul is significantly longer than a earth year (a little more than three times longer), 7 is the age they consider a person to have reached adulthood. Effectively the planet has seven seasons (three for each sun and then the one in between). Though the two stars are different sizes and colors they are similar enough in mass that the change in gravity isn't cataclysmic. It is, however, noticeable. The change in the seasons is determined by the amount of light on the planet as opposed to the weather, though the latter is affected by the former. During the short season where the world is directly between the two suns, gravity is significantly reduced because of how the planet is being pulled towards opposite directions. There's also never a period of darkness because by the time one sun is setting in the west the other is rising in the east. This period of time is considered very sacred (the week is similar to both Hanukkah and New Years, in a way). The two suns have a couple of effects on the world and the Alysians (human-equivalent species that inhabits it), most notably the fact that only males can be conceived during the long year and females during the short. This relates to the mythological origin of the species as well as their magic system. EDIT: I should note that the story takes place in a medieval era rather than a futuristic setting.
  3. I used to be an avid player of LoL. I play it occasionally still, but given I am currently deployed to an underdeveloped country in Africa, the lag can be unreal. I will be here for another 9 months so I don't foresee me tackling ranked anytime soon. Definitely down for some normals whenever I am on, though. My tag is Adavantos. Feel free to add me and send me a message.
  4. @Adamir: I’m currently six hours ahead of EST (I.E. It’s 10:41 at the time of this post). Tonight is my night off, however, so I will likely be going out with some of my housemates. @Lopen: My suspicion began on Day 1 when you came in last minute to vote against Phatt. On its own I didn’t think much of it, other than it was overkill. However you, along with Ripple, were one of the few who were insistent on adding as many votes on one person as possible to prevent manipulation. Considering it was Day 1 we would have gained a lot more information if we kept it at a tie so that we could see if the Eliminators did indeed have a Worldsinger and if so who did they favor. I voted for Phatt towards the end, not knowing that Stink would immediately piggy back on me considering our constant back and forth, let alone you. Looking back to find that previous quote, I also saw this post and this one where you state twice that you will be gone but back just in time to vote, without providing any ideas or explanation as to your vote (other than the aforementioned prevention of vote manipulation). Given how much ripple advocated that we needed to ensure the Eliminators could not use their Worldsinger, I theorized that they have none and it was very possible that she wasn’t the only one on their team trying to protect that weakness from being discovered. As for Raven’s connection to this, in this post by wilson she illustrates her suspicions of both Mail and Raven. She discusses how Raven was the one who recommended lynching inactives during a productive conversation about suspicious actives. Ripple immediately jumped onto this, which could very well have been an attempt to save herself, but also she could have been following an ally’s lead. Now, in a similar way to Day 1, accusations were placed on both Raven and Araris. Not too long after you appear, once again bringing attention to an inactive. I then looked back at Alvron’s posts to see if anything he did came off as suspicious, and not a single thing stood out. Immediately in my head I likened this to the same situation as Day 1. In this post by Wilson during Day 2, she explains why it’s very possible that by ripple’s sudden vote off of Honey that one of the two others who voted against him could be an Eliminator. She chose to focus on Mallan due to his previous inconsistencies, but he turned out to be innocent. The other voter was Araris. She also fleshes out my theory of them not having a Worldsinger and how if they didn’t both Stink and Lopen rise is suspicion considerably. Given that Stink turned out to be innocent, that leaves only Lopen. How do these dots connect in my mind? Alvron votes against Araris. I don’t vote yet but express my agreement. The next vote is Lopen against Alvron, on the account of being both experienced and fairly inactive. Next Raven steps up to place a vote on him as well, putting him in the lead. I take a look at all of the posts of those involved, and what I just reiterated coalesces. In the same post by raven she mentions that it's likely the Eliminators are hiding somewhere in the middle of active and inactive. This both could have been a defense orchestrated by herself since she has thus far been among the more active players, however, it's important to note that both Araris and Lopen fit into that in between category. @a smart guy: I said that I could get behind a lynch on Mailli because I both had my own suspicions of him (based on an interaction where I tried to refrain from stating the name of a player who sent me a private message asking for my role yet he repeatedly insisted it was Stink and not him, which came off to me as extremely unnecessary) and I trusted a bit too much in wilson’s opinions. The reason why I had second thoughts was because Venture was among those who I was suspicious of and keeping an eye out for but had not nearly posted enough to affirm them. Lastly, I did not say there should be more votes on Mailli specifically. I had completely forgotten about Con Artists and that they had gained the Worldsinger ability from the previous days lynch. Prior to that realization I was all for inciting a tie, and if you look at the wording of my post I was asking what everyone else’s opinions were on it. I by no means said let’s do this! I am unsure of why Clanky and Honey jumped on it so fast, however. I will note the odd wording used in their posts (for example, “voting shenanigans"). I hope this clarifies my thought process.
  5. When attempting to come up with a name for a reoccurring character in the various fantasy roleplays I GMed back in my freshman year of highschool, I had been dating my then believed soul mate Amber for several years. So I took the first two letters of both her name and my name (Micheal) and the four letters of love, and rearranged them all to create Alvom and Mei (husband and wife). For the surname I just took the first three letters of my own surname followed by the last three letters of hers. Being a hopeless romantic, a lot of my relationships have bled similarly into my writings (for example, I once had an AI character whose name was a string of numbers that also happened to be the day we began dating).
  6. I am officially voting against Araris Valerian due to my affirmed suspicion of Lopen and Raven. To remind everyone, Lopen was the fifth / last person to vote against Phattemer and was one of the players (with Ripple) that consistently brought up that the Eliminators might have a Worldsinger (which I am confident is false). To mirror wilson's Day 1 assessment (that can be found above, thanks Clanky) the moment some good discussion begins to develop, attention is drawn over those bordering on inactives again, which at this point in time is a very poor lead. I highly doubt Alvron is an Eliminator hiding in the shadows, for he has made no effort to mislead anyone (from what I recall) during his infrequent posts. I propose that if Araris is indeed an Eliminator, Lopen is too, and that Raven may very well be as well.
  7. I agree with Adamir's assessment. Though Araris did eventually change their vote on Day 1, it was onto The Honey Badger right after Mailli and before Ripple. This is the same vote that Wilson was suspicious of having another Eliminator due to Ripple's quick change; I think she described it as Ripple trying to distance herself from an ally. EDIT for grammar
  8. @Clanky: I think Raven was implying that because of how frequent and strong my accusations against STINK were, it's possible I influenced the assassin's perspective and thus indirectly caused his death. I just finished rereading through Day 1 and I think it's relevant to note that Raven was the second person to vote against Ripple, following your example. It's possible she did it on purpose to lower any suspicions people might have of her in the future, but for some reason I highly doubt it. She did post exactly ten minutes prior to its closing, though, when phattemer had already taken the lead (5 to 3) so it's possible that if STINK and Lopen didn't do their last minute votes she may have switched to save ripple's life.
  9. I was suspicious of STINK, but never "targeted" him. I didn't vote for him or suggest people vote for him, just pointed out flaws in his character / logic as they surfaced / became relevant to game. Unfortunately there isn't really anything I can say to alleviate suspicion. Not only did I vote for phattemer on day one, I also passively supported Mailliw73's lynch, as well as expressed doubts about little wilson prior to her being killed by the Conspirators. If I was in anyone elses shoes I would be extremely suspicious of myself.
  10. I am still attempting to analyze what exactly this all means, but the first thing that comes to mind is that if Leyton was a Courier, was he the same one spying on Kipper's PMs? If not, it's possible he/she might be an Eliminator. Though I have no idea how it is decide how many of a single role is distributed among the players. On that note, with both a Courier and a Guardsman dying, which ability do the Con Artists gain? EDIT: Nevermind, they get it from the previous Lynch. Carry on.
  11. I also should reiterate a point I made earlier about The Honey Badger. During Day 1 he referred to rippleGlyf as Mailliw73's crony, and when confronted about it claimed he was just emotional for getting voted for suddenly and so close to the day's end, then took it back. I suggested that this could very well have been him attempting to establish a connection between the two in case rippleGlyf was revealed as a conspirator, that way some suspicion would be shifted to Mailliw73. It is very possible that the real reason rippleGlyf voted for him and changed it to follow Mailli's example was a continuation of this plot. It would simulanteously make him seem innocent, and Mailli even more guilty. EDIT: I should also add that The Honey Badger was the very last person to vote for him, and that there was really no point to it because there was very little chance of him surviving at that point. If he were an Eliminator, that seems foolish to me. But then again, maybe he wants us to think that's just too much and that he has to be a Noble. I'm likely seeing conspiracies where there are none. However, I would also like to note the possibility that both the Night 1 vote against little wilson and the attack on Kipper were indeed WGGs, and that Mailli73 was catching on and so they began plotting to take him out before he could gather more convincing proof.
  12. Honestly I think they used it just to use it. I see no logical point to take that action, They probably just figured "well I got this role for the day, might as well troll with it." I would dismiss it as an attempted distraction, for now; they probably want us to overanalyze it when it really doesn't matter much. From what I understood, little wilson theorized that one of the two people who voted for The Honey Badger (alongside ripple) was also an eliminator, and her sudden vote change was because she wanted to distance herself from an ally. That means her next suspect along that line of thought would be Alilir (Araris Valerian). Not sure what else there might be to gleam from it.
  13. RavenRadiant7: Night Vote Shallan: Paranoid King Feligon: Herowannabe Winter Cloud: Adamir Mailliw73: little wilson, Kipper, Feligon, Venture Mistborn, Clanky, The Honey Badger Venture Mistborn: a smart guy, RavenRadiant7 So, the con artist moved Adamir's vote; and what're these shenanigans about Mallan voting for himself?
  14. I am currently alternating between The Alloy of Law (first time) and The Providence of Fire by Brian Staveley (Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne, Book Two).
  15. As of just now this is the vote tally, with approximately ten minutes left in the game. RavenRadiant7: Nobles Shallan: Paranoid King Feligon: Herowannabe Winter Cloud: Adamir Mailliw73: little wilson, Kipper, Feligon, Venture Mistborn, Clanky, The Honey Badger Venture Mistborn: a smart guy, RavenRadiant7 Six seems a bit overkill to me, just like yesterday. If Mailliw73 turns out to be a Noble, then there's a real good chance at least one Conspirator is among this group. I hope this isn't the case, because that's a lot of people to keep track of / analyze for one action.
  16. Considering how many shards Adolin won for his family during WoR, I don't think Dalinar would have any issue letting him take his blade with him at the very least, especially given his relationship with it. If someone attempted to take it from him, I could see him arguing vehemently and perhaps even disappearing (maybe with the help of Shallan and/or Kaladin) in the night. Besides, it's bonded to him, so the only way it could be taken is if he willingly gave it up or was executed, and I don't really foresee either of those things happening. I doubt it would come to this extreme, however. Adolin understands what he did and although it was an action of passion, I believe he is mature enough to accept responsibility. I could equally see Dalinar agreeing with the exile from Urithiru/the Warcamps, but also give him a task to fulfill in the process. Now that the conflict in the Shattered Plains has been significantly lessened, Dalinar is going to have to start turning is attention elsewhere in the world, and there's a lot going on / he can't be everywhere at once. EDIT: Also, there's nothing saying he has to leave alone. Though he might be exiled, whose to say someone can't leave with them of their own accord? In that case he could have a squire to help with his armor (though I agree chances are he won't be able to go with that too) or even a small retinue.
  17. @Clanky: 1) I have considered suggesting the same thing, but would like to see more people's opinions on that. 2) I agree with this point wholeheartedly. There's not much point in letting who gets the night vote be a surprise / organized by the Eliminators strictly. We get enough information from the nightly conspirator kills/attempts to use against them, and the little wilson and RavenRadiant7 votes really didn't solidify/nullify any suspicions against them, as it could have equally been a ruse. 3) I completely forgot about the con man; that is a very good point. It still might prove who they want dead and who they don't, though.
  18. Probably my kindle. Though I prefer print to ebooks, it is incredibly convenient to have over a hundred stories downloaded on one device for me to summon at a whim. I never go anywhere without it. What is your favorite landmark/wonder of the world (natural or artificial)?
  19. Then that's decided. If there's anyone else present who hasn't voted yet today, please refrain. And if there's any innocent Worldsingers left, do not manipulate the votes. I wouldn't be surprised if Phattemer was the only one on our side, however. I'm almost glad that he didn't log in at the end and use his ability to save himself, because then we would have wasted another cycle suspecting him for nothing, I think. Here's to hoping Mailliw73 doesn't happen to be our second and does just that. EDIT: I'll gather a tally now
  20. This correlates pretty well with his Edgedancer-esque attributes. I think if he were exiled (but allowed) to keep his shards for protection, then it's very possible these events could lead to him reawkening his blade as well. Personally I would much rather see Adolin leave but continue to have his own POVs as frequently as in the current releases. Though WoR was great, I preferred how WoK had characters all over the place, allowing a wider variety of settings and consequently worldbuilding. I would be happy to see simultaneously occurring plotlines in Urithiru, Hearthstone, Kholinar, and wherever else Brandon decides.
  21. @little wilson: Would it be better to leave the situation as it is? Given my theory where the Conspirators do not have a Worldsinger and ripple had suggested it frequently to cover up their weakness, we might benefit from a test. If they let Mailliw73 die as is, then chances are I was right and that provides us with more suspects. Otherwise, if you think we would reap more information from ensuring his execution, I would be willing to cast a vote against him. @Kipper: You wouldn't lose rep, per say. The thing is I do fear you, though that's mostly because I have invested my trust in you already (for this game) and I have severe trust issues.
  22. @Winter: I understand that, and am willing to take that risk, but that doesn't mean I'm happy about it. My current dillema is that my views of Mailliw73 have been apprehensive at best from the start, but I also have reason to believe Venture Mistborn might be a Conspirator. It isn't very well founded so I haven't mentioned it yet. If it turns out Mailliw73 is innocent, I'm going to lose some faith in both little wilson and Kipper in addition to gain some more suspicion of Venture Mistborn, which sets back my headcannon .
