  1. Not going to lie, the second I saw Venture Mistborn vote against Mailliw73 I got this creeping feeling that the latter's innocent. If it turns out we have lynched another Noble then I'm not sure what to think. I will likely refrain from voting this turn.
  2. @TheMightyLopen: I had the exact same sentiment, and have been reading it for curiosity's sake. Think I'll finish it for the sake of learning more about the other players and their habits. @Kipper: Well at least in this case, I don't foresee you being forced into being a figurehead. I can respect that decision. And To Shatter a Shard should be lots of fun, I think.
  3. @Winter Cloud: I'm not trying to say all our resources should be spent on playing "find the seeker;" there's no reason why we can't do both. We have roles for a reason, and it would be a waste not to attempt to use them. The conspirators certainly won't be refraining from using their abilities. We should be using all of our assets and taking every avenue of approach possible.
  4. @TheMightyLopen: I'm aware; but would that really be a bad thing? The moment said Ardent proves to be untrustworthy, we lynch him (if it turns out he's innocent, we have a few more trustworthy names, but if he turns out to be an Eliminator then we're one step closer to winning and we can begin questioning the people he claimed were innocent as his colleagues). @Kipper: 'Twas just a suggestion. That's why I said "that's ultimately up to them," as in yourself and the Ardent. Since your name has already been thrown out, all we would need is two Villager Guardsman to keep you safe. That way if one happens to get corrupted the other would protect you. I just believe having our focus on protecting one publicly known figure is better than having to defend attacks against two potential targets.
  5. I would suggest the Ardent private message all of their findings to Kipper thus far and have him announce it in public since we've already established he can be trusted. Though that's ultimately up to them. Also, if there are any (villager) Artifabrians, I'd love to see a PM from you right about now.
  6. @STINK: Yes, focus was shifted from you before that, but was it shifted to an Eliminator? Let alone one that had much more support against them? It was only after it almost seemed certain that she might die that you started going along with the idea of killing inactives. And you're right, I did provide "helpful information" against the Inactives. I took data that anyone could have found and organized it for everyone to see. I made a healthy contribution to the conversation in accordance with it's current direction so that others could analyze it and make their own decisions. You, however, didn't really add anything except for some offhand comments. Given that I'm completely new to this (both the game and the community) I had no way of knowing that phattemer was one of the more experienced players and that it was atypical of him to be quiet, especially when he was frequently active on the forums and yet not in the thread, until it was brought up by someone else. Additionally, I had no way of knowing if anyone would vote against him after me. Both your vote and Lopen's were sudden and the only explanation provided was to prevent Worldsingers from manipulating the votes. I tied the vote because that's what I wanted. If the eliminators had a Worldsinger, then they would have altered the votes somehow to break it; given who they chose to kill, it would have increased suspicion on the alternative. But what if they didn't have one, and feared that a villager Worldsinger would alter the vote to kill ripple. Then they would need to gap the votes enough that the lynch couldn't be used against them. That is exactly what I think happened.
  7. That's my point. For a majority of the day, you're posts consisted of you preaching against a Day 1 Lynch and you defending yourself from any accusations (or making mundane statements such as 'the paranoia being higher than the moon'). And then suddenly when focus was shifted from you to Ripple you stepped up to the voting booth and laid one down on both the person she decided on in the end and was the only one who could have been sacrificed in her stead. Only an Eliminator would benefit from that.
  8. The quote he is referring to is this: "Right now, I'm most suspicious of STINK (and TheMightyLopen by association as he could attempting to run interference so his associate doesn't get overrun). I'm about 45% certain he's an Eliminator at this point, and that will likely increase if he continues to resist a Day 1 Lynch, or triggers any other red flags in my mind." I would like to note I used the word likely as there were still circumstances in which you switching would end up being a red flag, which did indeed occur. The fact that the person you saved (regardless of the active / inactive argument) was an eliminator and the person that was killed as a result was innocent makes me suspicious. Especially when you consider Ripple was one of the people who defended you earlier that day. It was also meant to be a nudge to see if you would stick to your beliefs or not. EDIT: @Kipper: My point wasn't that he changed votes, but his reasoning for the two votes. The first was in his defense, the second because "everyone else was doing it" and "better than killing an active."
  9. @irulelikeSTINK: I just went back to read all of your past posts in an attempt to find the turning point for you. To me it seems to correlate with the moment people shifted focus from you onto Ripple, who turned out to be an eliminator. Also, the excuse you provided (now and then) is not valid to me. Just because everyone else is doing something doesn't mean you should go against what you believe to be right. One aspect of being honorable to me is making a decision and sticking to it, regardless of other people's opinions of you for it. That is the reason why I both waited until the end to vote and cast a vote in the first place; because I didn't want to make a habit of going back on my word. In my opinion that is the same thing as lying. I also want to note that Ripple swore to Preservation she wasn't a conspirator, and in a similar fashion STINK said "Sorry to disappoint, but I am a noble." Looking back, both of these are red flags. It's natural that a conspirator would want to declare their innocence, especially one who might be new. If I personally didn't believe that a man (or woman) should be defined not by what they claim to be but by their actions, I might do the same in their shoes.
  10. I still suspect STINK more than Lopen, though I fear he might be an Eliminator as well. The main thing that bothers me about STINK (on top of everything else I mentioned the other day) is how in the beginning of the game he was anti Day 1 lynching and yet he made a vote at the very end knowing fully well that Phattemer would likely die, and never provided an explanation as to why. Earlier that day he voted only to keep himself from being killed, then retracted it when he was no longer in danger. That I can understand. But suddenly targeting Phat... why the sudden change up, STINK?
  11. Ultimately the most efficient way for us to get ahead without killing blind would be to have an ardent reveal themselves and what they've discovered the last two nights, and keep them highly protected with anonymous Artifabrians and Guardsman. Issue is, it wouldn't be hard for an Eliminator to just say he's an Ardent and falsify his findings / make us waste our defensive roles. Assuming we keep the Ardent constantly uncorrupted, the moment he declares an innocent evil and we kill them, they'd be found out; unless, of course, they happen to corrupt our anonymous Artifabrian. Chances of them accidentally getting said Artifabrian would be an about 1/20 as of today, assuming they didn't get hit last night. EDIT: @Renegade; now that my reputation level is that of an Ardent, does that mean I can use their ability as well?
  12. We would also require a Guardsman to protect the aforementioned Ardent from being killed during the Night by the Eliminators. What are the chances of Kipper being attacked twice in a row? I would suggest putting a Guardsman on him, but really it's pointless because just suggesting it means the Eliminators would expect it and target someone else. *EDITED for color*
  13. Rumors spread like wildfire throughout Highprince Kholin’s Warcamp. Fear and confusion pervaded the atmosphere, beckoning spren to manifest from whatever realm they called home. Once word reached Efrihm he thought he might retch again. I was wrong, he scolded himself. He could barely breathe, as if his shame was viscous enough to drown him. I made a mistake, and now a just man is dead. I can’t let that happen again. I won’t. And so he thought long and hard, using his acute memory to replay the events of yesterday in his head. He was wrong to assume someone as young and new to the court as him was not capable of evil. He was wrong to assume someone was harmless just because they wore the face of a lady. This isn’t home, he had to remind himself. This is the Shattered Plains, land of suffering and turmoil. Everyone here is deadly; the women are no exception. Merilee, no exception. She accused Klanal first, then voted against Badhab Eony a moment later. Why? She was the third to jump on him; perhaps her colleague is Brightlord Mallan, who initiated the vote, or Arilir who spoke against ‘ole Eony right before Merilee. Then again, Eony did call Merilee the Brightlord’s crony, as if he knew they were already in cahoots. What if HE is working for Sadeas? It’s possible he foresaw her death and wanted to establish a connection for the two to draw suspicion, and realizing that his heated words would draw attention to himself, took it back and apologized. Seems convoluted, but Highprince Torol’s men are supposedly master manipulators. Arilir was the very first person to cast a vote, and it was against Leyton, whom I distrusted immediately. I suggested that she may have been attempting to sow chaos by accusing the first person to vocalize an unpopular opinion, and if that was the goal in mind, it worked. Even I nearly fell for it. Could it be my instincts are just completely reversed? I wouldn’t put it past me; I’m not like them. I’m no Alethi. Maybe the way I’m reading people is way off. Later on she retracted her vote against him in favor of Eony and stuck with that one until the end. That either means he can be trusted, or it was all an act to make him seem innocent. Maybe that’s why Merilee voted for him in the first place; so that if she were to be discovered Eony would be cleared in the process. Then there was the gossip about Resha; she accused Cleo, who then retaliated, catching her in a lie. She retracted her vote and then continued to advocate eliminating those who were silent. I fell for this too. Could it be she only said that to save Merilee’s life because they were on the same side? But why this gossip? Surely Sadeas’ lackeys wouldn’t let words set against themselves spread in the night. Maybe they were the ones who seeded them, either to kill another innocent or to remove her suspicion. There are just so many questions, too many possibilities. Nothing makes sense. At least I now there's someone I can trust. Kipper. I need to talk to Kipper.
  14. My reasoning was this: first, I advocated from the beginning that I was pro-lynching, but when the majority fell on ripple I felt for certain that wasn't the right choice. I had no way of telling if anyone would act after I did, so I delayed as long as I could without fear of missing out on weighing in. I would have preferred for there to have been another option, but if I voted for anyone else it would have more likely ended with a tie and no progress would have been made. Of the two, I was in favor of lynching phattemer over ripple because I had seen the former active several times throughout the day and yet he did not participate. I was far from sure about him, but that was one strike for me, whereas nothing ripple did made me suspicious. I was well aware of the possibility that phattemer might be a villager, but took that risk because it'd help me narrow my next choices. These are the outcomes I saw: 1: Phattemer is an Eliminator; thus by creating that last minute tie, his Eliminator friends would leave well enough alone so that no one dies or vote against his opposition. I would then immediately be suspicious of whoever broke the tie in favor of lynching ripple. 2: Phattemer is a Villager; thus by creating that last minute tie, at least two Eliminators would gang up on him last minute to ensure that a worldsinger could not sway enough votes away from him. I would immediately be suspicious of both players. It just so happens that the two who voted against him following me were two people I expressed doubts for and established a connection with one another at the very beginning of Day 1. If at least one of them turns out to be an Eliminator, then I would even go so far to say that either Herowannabe is as well for offering the first vote against him, or that I was actually wrong about ripple and she jumped on him simply because the discussion was leaning towards targeting inactives and she got her fellow Eliminators to jump on the bandwagon to save her life.
  15. My gut still tells me not to trust Stink, and am apprehensive as Lopen as well. I have a feeling that if we lynch one and it turns out that he's an Eliminator, other might be as well. If there's any ardents out there, I'd get a read on Stink first.
  16. Efrihm was not fond of death; especially not when dealt out with such brutallity. Roshar was a cruel world, however, and death was abound. Whether it was political maneuverings or plateau assaults, innocent men and women died every day. One might think that one of the world's greatest kingdoms would be free of such savagery, but in truth it was ridden with both the corrupt and the corruptible. After watching the man who he had condemned only moments ago lose his head, his stomach began to churn. In a very un-Alethi way, he grabbed a hat off the noble nearest to him and retched into it, relieving his stomach of the apetizers he had been munching on during the discussion. Only the taste of acid and the sharp pain of regret remained. If you're reading this, sorry phattemer. Given that you were on the forums frequently throughout the day, but had not even bothered to post, I hoped it might have been you. I don't know what to make of the fact that three of the people I expressed suspicion of (and the fourth being the one with the second most votes) all voted along with me, though.
  17. I am very interested in To Shatter a Shard, myself.
  18. I have been suspicious of "Mailliw73" from the start due to the choice of his character. I'm not sure if Brightlord Mallan (or playing someone so weakminded) is a reoccurring thing for him, but to me it seemed really forced. At first I was thrown off by his praise of my initial accusation so I let it slide for a time. But then after I mentioned someone approached me via PM about a role exchange, he was very insistent on making it clear that it wasn't him and that it had to be STINK, as if he wanted to focus our attention back on him. I intentionally didn't want to declare who it was (yet) to see people's general reactions to the concept, since this is my first game and I wasn't sure if it was normal or not, and then that happened. Add that with "little wilson's" explanation, and he is at the top of my list now.
  19. People not posted since game started: (4) phattemer, Shallan, Venture Mistborn, Feligon. People who posted Night 1 but not Day 1 so far: (1) Seonid I'll also note that Paranoid King dropped a single post, but it wasn't particularly long or useful, then disappeared. Macen did as well, but at least provided a reason for his absence, and that Shallan hasn't been online all day as of yet. EDIT: I took the format from Haelbarde; just wanted to clarify that.
  20. In "The Honey Badger's" defence, he has been inactive for the past ten hours (since he posted), and given how there weren't any solid leads at the time I do not blame him for not voting. I suppose he could have logged out and has been viewing this thread as a guest, and while I think that sounds like a good enough strategy, I'm not certain that's the case for him. Maybe he really is busy with the real world. I don't know what to think of "Ripplegryf" yet, but am curious to hear their response.
