I saw that comment in the doc and was going to ask what you were referring to. Unfortunately excessive confidence (AKA arrogance) is one of my biggest character flaws at this point in my life, and while it is something I'm conscious of and am trying to work on, it can still surface in moments of high stress. That day was very bad for me, was dealing with some personal family things and wasnt able to get any genuine rest due to noisy neighbors and a bit of a heat wave. I shouldn't have just given up like I did, and will make sure it doesn't happen again.

Saludan Leiken might not have been able to redeem himself, but maybe I can. Conversion games are usually a headache for me, but... Signing up as the kandra, MaiKaal. Will try to post some RP when I have more time.

My problem with the situation was less that Puppetmastering is a thing, but that it wasnt explicit in the rules. In LG30 it made sense because 2 elims were required to put in a kill action unless a villager was imprisoned. In this case, I had an entire cycle where I evaluated the game based on activity and it lead me down, what I thought at the time, as an incorrect rabbit hole of logic. It turns out I was right on both Devotary and you, but once it became a factor I had to reevaluate everything, and at that stage of the game it was an issue with how close you guys were to victory. From this experience the only thing I would recommend is for GMs to make it known from the get go. It was honestly a very good game, and had I not locked my phone while on vacation and been able to be active earlier, I think things would have gone very differently. That's life and I'm not really upset with it, but it was a little disappointing on the fourth cycle. Very proud of everyone this game though. When people could be active they did wonderfully.
-
And this is why I should always trust my instincts. Good game everyone! And thank you Rand and Bard for running this.
-
Ventyl is probably the safer bet then. But it's something to consider.
-
Unfortunately this doesn't account for the possibility of Alv, Lum or Striker lying about the bird they received, but I guess it's the best lead we have. Alvron. Ventyl. Since there were a total of 2 sabotage actions last night, that means another player on my previous list (plus the three I listed just now) is also evil. We might as well use this time to figure out who it would be. @Mark IV @Lumgol can we get a role claim from you two. Mark could have placed a sabotage order on D1 and then left a remaining teammate to act in his absence, but if that's the case, I have no clue how we can prove it. I suppose it's still most likely that Alv is the puppeteer, even though he was the one who volunteered the information. @Randuir / @Young Bard: if Alv were to put an order in to sabotage and an order for engineer!Ventyl to sabotage, only for us to lynch him, would both sabotage orders be interrupted, or just his?
-
Mark IV Xinoehp512 Ventyl shanerockes Alvron With the puppeteer clarification, there's no legitimate way to determine which of these 5 players is the elim!Engineer. Literally anyone could have puppeted those first four, and there's no evidence suggesting Alv is evil other than there being no evidence suggesting he's good. If that's all the reasoning we have to lynch someone on the 4th cycle, I highly doubt the 5th cycle will be any better. It's moments like this I wish we had turns end when votes reached majority so we could just get over this madness. This might as well be my last post of the cycle. There's nothing more I can do. Guess I'll see ya'll in 48 hours.

It honestly really isn't. If we don't lynch/hospitalize the Engineer today, the only way we can win is if we lynch/hospitalize at least one elim today, then the rest of them tomorrow. The chances of us getting perfect lynches/vigkills from here on out is completely out of the question when we also consider the fact the elims could be inactives, too. ED1T: Not to mention the fact we have no apparent vig.
-
You said you had a role at one point, Burnt. You're not a Trapper, are you?
-
Considering there's no evidence of a Trapper, it's impossible for the village to win, then. I'm surprised the game hasn't ended.
-
If the active elims can put in orders for inactives, I'm honestly going to be pretty upset. That's a huge thing not to be included in the rules, and from my experiences GMing LG30, was a really bad call. It balances things way too far in the eliminators favor when there's no way villagers can utilize inactive villager roles. Especially in a game like this with sabotaging parts (and a lack of repairs), it gives the eliminators way too strong of advantage that I might as well stop spending time even trying to find them. Not sure on the specifics, but it's a reoccurring thing, yes. Not even remotely the case here, though.

I'm not really sure the same logic can apply, unless both Devotary and I are evil with Alv. Devotary had given no indication of voting for Stick prior to the last minute, while I bounced between the two multiple times. Plus I would also say I was the one advocating Alv's lynch the most. Could I have been bussing for street cred? Maybe. But IMO there would be a lot smarter ways for me to handle the events of yesterday, had I been evil. Not to mention my playstyle this game most resembles my recent Villager games. ED1T: For the record, I believe Devotary is most likely a villager too.

There's been issues in the past about lynching people when they aren't around to participate, so I was asking Stick to keep their vote on you so we could arrange a tie. This was before the realization about Aviar requests taking precedence over Sabotage, so at the time I hadn't really considered another option for the lynch besides Alv and you. But yeah, I ultimately switched back to Stick as a joke, since I'd PM'd the GMs telling them I was keeping my vote on Alvron. I didn't even consider the possibility of you changing too and as soon as I saw it, I tried to post again, only for it to be too late. Felt really dumb afterwards. Still feel really dumb now, especially with all of those Mess Hall Messages. Confirmation from Lum would be nice. Hopefully she responds soon.
-
Xino is a distinct possibility, but I was giving him the benefit of the doubt since I was an elim with him in a recent game. The fact that the Engineer sabotaged all 3 days is a bit of a stretch for his level of activity imo. He'd be at the bottom of my list compared to Alvron or Shane. As for Lum she is most certainly the Navigator that revealed Striker's action D1.
-
Essentially Devotary was up for the lynch, but new information determined she was honest about requesting Sak from the Aviary. We switched our votes to Alvron over her, but then I made a joke vote switch to Stick that ended up turning into an actual lynch when Devotary switched as well. I'll admit, while it's impossible for Devotary to be the elim!Engineer, I am a tad bit worried she is on a team with Alvron and used the situation as an opportunity to delay his death for another sabotage.

Accounted-for Players: Lumgol (D1 Navigator) StrikerEZ (D1 Spotlight) Amanuensis (D3 Mess Message) MrakeDarshall (D3 Mess Message) Devotary of Spontaneity (D3 Mess Message) Mark IV (D3 Offline) TheMightyLopen (D2 + D3 Mess Message) Araris Valerian (D3 Hospital) Burnt Spaghetti (D3 Mess Message) Unaccounted-for Players Xinoehp512 (Claims Vanilla) Ventyl (Nearly Completely Inactive) shanerockes Alvron Really should have kept my vote on Alvron. ED1T: @Devotary of Spontaneity why did you decide to switch to Stick last minute? @MrakeDarshall, did you anticipate the Mess being sabotaged? Your message was the most generic, so I'm curious what your mindset was going into writing it. @Burnt Spaghetti you've been viewing the thread for a while now. Thoughts?
-
I believe the sabotage just makes it non-anonymous, but I may be wrong. ED1T: Looking at the rules again, I'm probably wrong
-
Okay. I probably buy you're a villager, too. If you could send the GM's a PM saying you want to leave a message in the mess today, I would appreciate it a lot, though.
-
Which means the Trapper ability is effectively a roleblock against the elims as well. Please, please, please let there be one out there who will become active this turn. @xinoehp512, @Mark IV, @shanerockes, @Ventyl, @StrikerEZ, @Araris Valerian: if one of you is the Trapper or a Village Engineer, I think it's time to claim. The eliminators aren't going for kills anyway, which means our only hope is figuring out role distribution and ensuring the right roles get used in the right places. Otherwise the village is doomed. ED1T: Mark is cleared in the same way I was for the first two days (hasn't been online since Tuesday), and Ventyl was last online 3 hours after the previous thread was posted, so chances are we can trust him too. Now that I think about it, the two saboteurs last night have to be among Alvron, Striker and Shane.
-
Of course it does. *INTERNAL SCREAMING* I'd like to request a pinch-hitter for being so dumb. ED1T: On the bright side, 7 players are now guaranteed not to be the elim!Engineer, and if we lynch them today, we now know they will not be able to sabotage another ship part. So either this is LYLO or we have 2 turns left after the fact. ED2T: And with those 7 players confirmed (at least one of them is 100% evil, imo), our list is significantly narrowed. I don't see a way in which Alvron isn't evil at this point. ED3T: Bard can I get a full OoA just to make sure? I looked in the main thread and didn't see one.
-
Oof. I didn't expect Devotary to switch her vote too sorry Stick ED1T: I'm more than a bit confused, however. If Stick was indeed an NITC Engineer, why did she not repair twice, let alone claim?
-
Ooooo self preservation. Interesting. Stick
-
Back to Alv. Sorry if I scared you, Rand and Bard.
-
Like when you asked about Devotary earlier, really it's just a matter of PoE.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
