  1. Xino. HH. (2) Hemalurgic Headshot: Araris Valerian, Amanuensis, (2) Xinoehp: Straw, Sart, (2) StrikerEZ: Elbereth, Furamirionind, (1) Sart: Coda, (1) Straw: Hemalurgic Headshot, I don't like how close these votes are, or how this is being decided last minute without half the players / HH to defend himself. Not that there is much for him to defend himself from, since the only reason why I think he could be an elim is because of his vote D1 when the wagons were V/V. @Sart, @Furamirionind, @Elbereth, @Coda. If any of you are around, would you consider changing your votes? With Elandera's death we know the elims have a Pain Knife now, so if we leave things as they are now, they could easily sway the lynch on any victim they want.
  2. Hmm. I'm not sure which one of these votes I like the least. Fura's makes me worry about him being on a team with Sart, Araris makes me worry about him being on a team with Striker. Sart's is actually kinda okay, now that I think about it. If it was simply a matter of self-preservation, he'd probably just vote for Striker. But the fact that he's going for Xino instead makes me think he's wary of voting for just anyone, which an eliminator would have less qualms about. I initially voted on Sart for discussion's sake. I figured putting someone at 2 votes that early would get people talking and voting. Unfortunately I've been too busy to follow up on it myself, but I think it was the best call regardless. @Araris Valerian, I'm also pretty suspicious of HH, so I would join you on that lynch if you want to switch back and anyone else is interested. For now, I'm okay with Xinoehp. I know I'm not one to talk, but I'm not a fan of inactivity - most especially, intentional inactivity - and I'm neither willing to vote for Striker or Straw. (3) Xinoehp: Straw, Sart, Amanuensis, (2) Sart: Coda, Araris Valerian, (2) StrikerEZ: Elbereth, Furamirionind, (1) Straw: Hemalurgic Headshot,
  3. I'll follow this up with another vote on Sart, for the reasons presented in my last post. (1) Coda: StrikerEZ, (2) Sart: Coda, Amanuensis,
  4. Hm. I'm not so sure I agree with the theory, or believe you believe it, but I'll try to follow the thought to my own logical conclusion. This was the vote count from D1: Knowing that Venture and Elandera are both village, that means eliminators didn't feel pressured to save one of themselves, meaning they'd probably have a more light-hearted or less serious perspective during the later phase of D1, or simply not care at all. HH's vote had little-to-no impact or drive behind it, for example, and as remarked on previously, originated using questionable justifications. I'm another good example in that I didn't vote at all despite being decently active. I worry that "concentrating your investigation" on Rath, Fura and Drake is a convenient set up to ignore teammates hiding in the rest of the crowd. Not to mention encouraging others not to look at yourself, since you were one of Elandera's voters. If you're village, don't let this discourage from pursuing your theory. But I hope you understand if I'm a little skeptical. ED1T: Oh, right. That doesn't really address why I think Elandera was killed, and I think that can be simply explained by her Pain Knife. She proved she had it by removing a vote from herself D1. Getting a vote manipulation / role block out of village hands and into the eliminators is worth it alone, IMO.
  5. I'm comfortable enough with my village read on Rath that I don't mind adding my vote there as well. Even if Yuriel would still prefer going on the journey herself to avenge the death of her husband by destroying the One Ring at last.
  6. Hm. I can't blame you for self-preservation, but I guess my question is, if you weren't in danger and were able to vote for someone other than Venture, who would you have gone for and why? From just a quick glance of your last few posts you actually believed him to be village, but didn't look for any alternatives. Even in the post you remark on 31 hours being left before turn over you just summarize what's happened so far. Unfortunately no, but I would appreciate anyone who does have a spanreed to reach out to me. Sorry El
  7. Amanuensis I still think this is the best call (1) Fifth Scholar: Kasimir, (1) GoWibbles: Young Bard, (0) Amanuensis: ED1T: Hm. STINK/Kasimir/Wonko? I'll need to read the posts to say for sure. I feel pretty good saying Rath and Striker are both town.
  8. Sounds reasonable to me. I would just posit that if numbers were that limited on my theoretical team, I wouldn't try to remove myself from the game first, because my contribution to the team would be a lot more critical. But as Kasimir just posted, that's enough about me
  9. Oh. For the record, I'm not saying I believe these scenarios. I stream-of-conscious most of my posts and especially when I'm in a rush, I don't have time to double check facts or take all my thoughts to their logical conclusions. Me thinking Striker voted on me D1 twice as an elim, me mixing up Brass and Zinc, and this all being sufficient examples If anything I would lean that Venture's mess-up is more village indicative than not, since eliminators tend to be a lot more careful.
  10. "There's no way I'm ever trusting you Cycle One on the weight of your words alone" is a lot more reasonable of a statement. I recommend leading with that next time That said, what's your opinion on my "if I were evil I would just scream it to the heavens and start trolling" thing, though? I think that argument has a ton of merit, personally xD
  11. You're mistaken, Striker. It happened twice in a row, and IIRC they were the only games you were evil in that I also played in. See the links below. That comment was a joke nonetheless. Of course I'm not seriously reading you based on that . I was leaning village because of your lack of direction. ED1T: Never mind. I was mistaken. I called you out for being the Inquisitor as a joke in LG58, but it was BR, I think, then later Elandera. I could have sworn you got me again at one point... oh well. Lately my memory has been in shambles, it seems. ... My line of thought was elim!Venture wants to vote for town!Elandera, but accidently types elim!Elbereth's name because their being teammates puts her name in the forefront of his mind once he starts typing "El." Alternatively, the vote on Elandera could have been meant as a distancing attempt, only for him to subconsciously put the village El's name. Of the two the first slip seems more reasonable, but overall, neither are very likely. That situation unfolding and being remarked on by several players caused it to manifest as a data point in my head, and I figured it was worth consideration. ED2T: (3) Butt Ad Venture: drakemarshallow, Furamirionind, Rathmaskal, (2) Elandera: Araris Valerian, Elbereth, (2) Amanuensis: Straw, StrikerEZ, (1) Straw: Sart, (1) Elbereth: Coda,
  12. Honestly, if I was an elim I would have claimed it from the very start. There's nothing I love more than being an out-in-the-open eliminator that the village can't do anything about, and it was a big part of my motivation for joining this game at all. I would spend the entire game playing I-know-you-knows with everyone, because that's a lot more fun than lying and pretending to be something I'm not. As for the paraphrased words in the quote, that's not my point. I'm saying I probably won't be able to make enough worthy contributions to this game to be worth keeping around, and even in the off-chance I was evil, I would do a lot more damage to the village the longer I'm kept around. ED1T: And this is the exact reason why I play less often or have less motivation for the games I do decide to participate in. What's the point in me ever trying when people are just going to tell me "there's no way I'm ever trusting you"? I'm not taking it personally or anything. It just completely defeats the purpose of joining. Trends are great to look at, but they should never be the end-all be-all. The game I mistook Brass for Rioting and got lynched for it is a perfect recent example of unfair prejudice due to paranoia. At the core of things, each game is its own separate microcosm. Players should take what's happening in the now for a lot more merit than what's happened in the past. Especially in the far past. People change, adapt, evolve, and falter. Playstyles too.
  13. I'm not so sure. Generally speaking, I think the best thing any villager can do is convince others they are village. Without scans the ideal way to do that is being consistent and proactive in finding elims. Process of elimination is a tried-and-true method for winning as village, and the longer a villager's alignment remains obscure, the longer it takes to narrow down the real eliminators.
  14. Amanuensis. I know this vote doesn't matter, but it illustrates my stance nicely. Although my exams are now over, I'm behind on my writing goals for NaNoWriMo and would like to make that my biggest priority for the rest of the month. In order to facilitate that, I propose we elect myself to the Council effective immediately. Why am I the best choice for today? Well, I'm not Corrupted, much to my disappointment, which everyone here can take for a grain of salt. But for anyone who believes I may be evil; wouldn't it be much easier to confirm that now rather than give me the opportunity to manipulate people throughout the cycles and/or plan gambits for my team? I'm a momentum based player from either alignment. The more time I have to work, the better I tend to do. So from my perspective it's the best plan for the village to get rid of me now since I can't offer much in the analysis and roleplay departments. 15. Hi everyone. I've been a bit overwhelmed IRL lately, but I'll do my best to be active from this point going forward. In the process of reading the adjusted rules and posts I've missed now. ED1T: (2) Elandera: Araris Valerian, Elbereth, (1) Amanuensis: Straw, (1) Butt Ad Venture: drakemarshallow, (1) Straw: Sart, (1) drakemarshallow: Butt Ad Venture, (1) Elbereth: Coda, ED2T: For now I'll use my limited time to give my quick thoughts on these votes. Araris' vote is NAI. At a cursory glance, the content of Araris' two other two posts don't add much. However, I like that he noticed the 0-vote minimum, did something about it, and informed the thread of the danger, even if it came almost a day later (assuming my math is right). Not a hard thing to do as an elim (especially as an explanation in retrospect), but I think it's worth giving him the benefit of the doubt for now. Elbereth's vote at it's root (along with her behavior this game) is not very elim-efficient, and now that I think about it, not very neutral-efficient, either. I can believe she is too busy to take this game seriously and planned for that before receiving the role. Unfortunately that means it's harder to determine her alignment based on interactions. Action speak louder than words in this case. I wouldn't mind it if a Spy checked her out sometime soon to see if she is keeping any concerning secrets. Elandera... no clue honestly. I don't have a lot of time right now so I'll come back to her later. Straw is probably village. Venture mistakenly voting for Elbereth over Elandera is interesting, though I'm not sure it's worth reading too much into. If Venture is an elim I could see the slip coming from being partners with one of the Els. That said, I haven't noticed anything that helps me lean village or elim for Venture himself. As for Drake, his content overall seems clean. Not that that's outside his skills as an elim. I felt one of his posts was unusually defensive but I'll have to go back to find it later. I read Sart's post like 6 times and am having trouble taking much away from it. The RP mixed with opinions is always difficult for me to keep straight in my head. If I'm wary of anything it's his vote on Straw. Any time someone votes for Straw D1 my gut tends to scream "EVIIIIL!" at them. So yeah, leaning elim there until I have a good reason to believe otherwise. That leaves Coda of the voters. New player? If so, I'm really impressed. 4 posts total and most of them filled with questions. This both shows initiative and drive, which I typically attribute to villagers, especially to those players with less experience. This is my most confident (and only significant, really) village read at the moment. Bonus round: Striker. Has been noted to be all-over the place. I would expect that to come from village!Striker over elim!Striker. Especially since he hasn't voted for me yet. He always votes me when he's evil >>
  16. Just checking in to say I'm alive. I've got a lot to take care of this weekend but I'll try to sit down and knock out some thoughts and a little RP soon.
  17. Well if it's Fura's last game for a while and you're hurting for players, I can give this a shot. Brightlord Ularid Leiken reporting for duty. You too HS! Hope all is well. Don't be a stranger.
  18. A game with no kills or lynches or actions? Sounds like my exact kind of thing. I'm so in. I can't promise my usual levels of activity in this game since I am participating in NaNoWriMo. But I'm sure I'll post a few times every turn, and I will try to RP to get some writing done on the side. First Finder sounds like a fun role for me. I'll sign up as the widowed Elf, Yuriel. Not long after the Anduin River claimed both the One Ring and her husband's life, Yuriel crossed the Misty Mountains and made a new home for herself as a jewler in Rivendell.
  19. You were trying to say "added," I think. I'll probably spectate as well, but hold off from sending the link in case you need more players to join by the time sign ups end.
  20. They don't choose the new target. Mists of Releh is random.
  21. Not mixed messages. I told the elims I wouldn't work against them, but truth be told, I still wanted Sart dead it's too painful for me to just sit by and let an eliminator out of a noose, but I didn't want them to kill me either, so I decided to do it anonymously. Had you not redirected me, they wouldn't have known that I got him killed. That all said, I don't buy this, but mostly because I don't want to buy this. We know the eliminators roles in this game. None of them can convert someone without first sacrificing one of their own, and none of them can track people during the day, which Sart himself confirmed I proved. That means I am undoubtedly a neutral role, which has nothing to do with your alignment, as is stated in the rules. Without knowledge of Nazh / Hoid, people stated this game was balanced in favor of the eliminators. There's no way they were given a secret role. The votes were changed by the Founder, irrespective of my vote on Araris. That's where the extra vote on Striker came from.
  22. My bad if I'm causing any headaches. Not sure how or what I can do to fix it. To explain the Venture thing, I was roleblocked the same turn votes were manipulated. Venture went insane during the day turn, which can only happen because of Mists of Releh. Only Hoid and the elims would have incentive to block me, and I saw Venture see my post and just go to another page, which probably means he went to the doc for consultation instead of explaining himself. EDIT: I'm an idiot. Mists of Releh is a redirect, not a roleblock. @Araris Valerian the vote on you is mine. I put in an anonymous vote on Sart so that I would help make sure he died for wasting my N1 action. The elims decided to redirect me to you, probably assuming that I was going to be using my tracking action. Doesn't change the fact that Venture is guilty of doing it, thanks to his insanity.
  23. Whelp, that's one way to let the elims win I'm actually more upset that Striker was lynched than the fact he was the Gravedigger. @Devotary of Spontaneity, why? Like I can see exactly what you wrote but come on. You know better than to go for a complete unknown over a player who at best is neutral, at worst is evil, especially when that maybe!Neutral/maybe!Evil is also voting for that person. Not to mention I laid out on D1 why Striker was undoubtedly town. Is there any world in which you're not blatantly a cultist, regardless of Sart's alignment? Also, Hoid, not cool. Instead of sending me an anonymous message, he used Mists of Releh on me to prevent me from tracking anyone. Unless.... hm. It's possible the eliminators could have done it, given the use of the Founder's ability this turn, just in case I managed to see them use it. But like I said in thread, should I discover any cultist like this, I'm not going to tell anyone. You realize that, right? I don't really care who you lynch, who you sacrifice and drive insane. I just want to be left alone to find Hoid. If I'm falsely accusing you guys, my bad. Maybe Hoid is just a jerk ED1T: Oh right. @Butt Ad Venture, do you know why you went insane? ED2T: Looking at the rules, there's only one explanation. Are you Hoid mate? ED3T: Guessing that's a no. Venture saw my question and decided not to respond. Not Hoid. Hoid wouldn't hesitate to write a response. A Cultist would ask their doc for guidance first, however. Why did your team decide to roleblock me? My win con has nothing to do with yours and vice versa. I was perfectly happy to leave you guys alone. Still am, if your team quits interfering with me. I guess this way I can thank you for ruling yourself out as Hoid. Still annoyed though.
