Why confused? It's a game of mafia like any other. Vote for who you suspect. If you're Village, don't waste a turn. -

Does anyone have any idea what the "vote"count looks like right now? Based on what people have declared publicly, that is. I'm wondering if there's a third exe opportunity I might want to jump on (like Ash). -

While I too would appreciate not getting NK'd early, I guess my point is I'm surprised you're not entertaining the idea that I'm an elim. Come on people, suspect me already >> -

Just want to clarify I ship Shallan with Therapy, not Kaladin. I ship Adolin with Kaladin. -

Then why ask the elims to not kill me? Btw my new voting pool is Archer, Striker. Now that thread opinion has mostly shifted away from E!Archer and that was the main reason I assumed V!Archer, I'm thinking it may be better off to exe him now. -

Said essentially the same thing as you, meaning this, right? You at least say that my e!Anon play was barely distinguishable from my v!Blackout play, which allows for the possibility I'm elim here. That comment alone gives you more Village Fog of War credence than Striker has. Plus I'm v!reading you for completely unrelated reasons, while I don't have a reason to v!read Striker yet. Plus it's D1 and we gotta exe someone so, tunnel or not, I'm content ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -

This response is exactly why I'm bringing it up and why I think you're Village and Striker isn't. Again, this was his response to my susing him for v!reading me early (wasn't explicit before I asked, but his response made it explicit): I'm not convinced a Villager says this. Feels like justification for elim TMI that ignores Village Fog of War. -

Like I said, I'd rely on tone reads / logical consistency to determine sincerity. For example, JNV went that route too, but he went that route hard. Elims tend to be less aggressive in scenarios like this, so I agree with your assessment that he's probably Village (might not be depending on elim doc talk - very possible that a partner who'd been following along and posting more had encouraged him to vote Archer when he came in, since a lot of people were susing Archer for it - but imo that's something I'd look into only if you and Illwei are town, which I doubt atm). It's simply more likely that JNV is a Villager overreacting to what he feels is Bad Village Play, and tbh, I can't blame him. I had the same initial reaction that he, Kas, Mat, and others had and I considered going the aggressive route too, yet held back to not sway other players. But then Archer posted more and I thought about it more and I saw how many people were becoming anti-Archer and I walked away with a V!Archer read. Now I'm convinced the elims are banking on this ML today, so anyone who encourages it gets immediate side-eye from me. I can accept my logic could be wrong, but I'm not going to entertain that possibility until I'm proven wrong with a couple flips. And I do think it's interesting that you're arguing with my logic as a defense for yourself, since it protects Illwei too and basically everyone voting Archer or encouraging his exe. I do think you could be Village. Most players I go for on D1 end up being Village. But I highly doubt that all my suspicions are Village. Especially in a V!Archer world. Ah, okay, I get it. But I also don't agree, which leaves me questioning where you're coming from. I've got a little Ash paranoia atm but I think he's a really strange D1 sus. Especially when you yourself have found most of what he's said agreeable + appreciates that he is holding himself accountable. Could you please articulate what it is about Ash that you suspect exactly? And why those positive things you said about him don't push him toward a V!read, like the agreeable things I've said apparently pushed you into V!reading me? @Ashbringer didn't respond to it (I don't think) and @Archer didn't really answer my question, but here's where I'm at on your response. Maybe you understand my Village tone better than others since you were on a team with me in my last elim game and because you just GM'd me in a Village game where my activity was in PMs only, but even so, you do not appear to be experiencing Fog of War like the rest of us. I don't think I've said or done anything that's particularly Villagery - and while I very much appreciate people not being excessively paranoid of me - your reply to me susing you for v!reading me feels like it's TMI justification. Would appreciate if Archer (who's been an elim against me, so interesting perspective if he's got anything to add on if I'm sounding like I did when I was gunning for him) and Ash (who has advocated me to not get NK'd) weighed in on this too, because I really don't feel like Striker is a Villager in his interactions with me. Anyone else is welcome to chime in too, those four names were just ones that I figured would have insight based on interactions in those games, and doubled as a way to figure out their alignments in this one. @Thaidakar the Ghostblood is still MIA so removing him from my voting pool today, despite the fact I think he's probably elim. Which leaves Striker, Illwei, although everyone can basically assume I'm voting Striker today and looking at Illwei for tomorrow. -

Per Archer + Ash's Broad Vote Proposals: Thaidakar, Striker, Illwei My vote is submitted, though I may change it tomorrow. Fairly comfortable with this D1 pool barring further discussion. Going to bed now, but please talk more while I'm gone. I expect us to at least be on page 5 by the time I wake up. Also Lotus wants to see RP, folks! I'll do some tomorrow too. Happy hunting / wooing <3 -

Basically, when Archer proposed his broad-reads-anon-voting thing, I walked myself through how people might approach it from a Village perspective and an Elim perspective. In this case, Villagers could react in pretty much any way depending on individual playstyle (in which case, I'd rely on tone reads / logical consistency to determine sincerity) while Elims would likely react in a narrower, more straightforward denial kind of way (with some exceptions depending on risk appetite) that overall looks Village-positive, in order to seem like their contributing without actually doing much. You fit the bill, as did Illwei, so for a D1 lead, that's what I'm looking at today. Can buy that RP voice and structure forced me to interpret what you meant by these observations more, and since I was looking for a particular red flag and you waved it, my brain jumped to less charitable takes. That said, I really don't know how to read Devo early in games (let alone for what she's posted so far), so if you've got something that could enlighten me there, I'd appreciate it But, like. Why would an elim react that way in this circumstance, or even mention retaliating? As you pointed out, TUA kind of agreed with what Archer was saying, so it's not like he's sus of him. Personally, I would expect an elim to not care about a single random vote (that's just a maybe between 3 options) when they've got 2 other elims to vote alongside them. Feels like a standard Villager-reacts-to-page-1-poke-vote-with-a-poke-vote to me. I'll admit, that's even weirder to me. So if Archer flips V, you'd think Ash is probably E because he engaged with Archer's broad-votes proposal? Can anyone else confirm that how I'm talking now feels like I did in my last few village games? @Kasimir @Archer @Matrim's Dice @Ashbringer I can't really gauge this myself, so very curious. Yup. Her first post mostly just said what I already did a few posts up + mentioned there'd be 4 elims if the game wasn't properly balanced on top of the fact shorter cycles and hidden votes are elim-sided + expressed the opinion that secret votes are bad (flag I was looking for). Altogether, it feels like a post for the sake of posting / looking village, rather than a post for the sake of solving the game. -

I still never got my gift and I'm mad about it I'll admit, I didn't consider GM laziness to be a factor, but even so! Every mechanic is a tool and this one is rare enough that it needs some testing We're (mostly) on the same page then, cool. The issue I have with your deviation is that we're in a game with no PMs. The only way Villagers can communicate their intent is in thread, while the Elims have a doc to coordinate in. At the very least, some Villagers need to be open with their votes so the ones being secretive can make decisions that impact / advance the game. Otherwise, the Elims will be able to do whatever and blend in way too easily. Plus, I'm of the belief that every turn that goes by without a decent amount of effort put into exe discussion is a severe setback for the Village. Especially in a Mountainous setup where the only way can find elims is with maximum vote participation. -

Amanuensis replied to Lotus's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I had to do a lot of cross-referencing for Vanala's notes so will translate (and summarize) for anyone else who's lazy like I am. Okay so, I still am up for exeing Thaid but Striker is by far the riper option. Here's why: I believe Archer is Village, which Striker does not I believe (most) elims would stand against Archer's proposition for "vote accountability" reasons because it looks village I also believe Mat is Village (particularly because he reevaluated and backtracked) I don't think TUA's reaction to Archer is sus, but an elim certainly might jump on it because they're looking for maximum MLs Really weird read of Devo that I can't parse (might be cause RP + Striker forced himself to give thoughts on everyone, but very off to me) I don't quite have a strong read of Ash yet but I definitely don't like Striker implying Ash's alignment is tied to Archer's I think there's a good chance Thaid rolled elim this game so the fact Striker only encouraged Thaid to post more without taking a stance feels potentially E/E I'm always sus of people who v-read me early when I'm a villager. Villagers are more paranoid of me. Elims want to pocket me. I was previously thinking Illwei might be a wolf for all the reasons Striker agrees with her, so another E/E sitch Despite posting this big pseudo-reads list and supporting vote accountability, Striker did not vote Think that about covers everything. Hello fellow Villager. Would you like to join Kas and I in ThreadPMBroship? I agree with your hot take. Or at least, I think I agree with it, if I'm reading it right. Here's my stance, and you can confirm if you feel the same way or not. We absolutely need to "vote" publicly and discuss who to exe, or else the Village is doomed to never get coordinated, BUT who we "vote" publicly does not need to be who we actually vote in our pms. If a player feels they have a good reason to vote secretly, then they absolutely should. Anyone who says otherwise is doing Lotus and this game a diservice. If a mechanic exists, we should use it. I, for one, already have plans for all kinds of vote shenanigans. Assuming, of course, that they don't interfere with our main goal of eliminating the eliminators. -

Would like @Orlok Tsubodai, @Illwei, @Stricker, @JNV, @Mailliw73, and @StrikerEZ's takes on this topic before I weigh in. Specifically: and TY in advance friendos <3 Also, TUA... Did I miss Archer saying he was voting for you? I see he put you in a 3 person pool with Kas and Mat, but that doesn't guarantee he's voting for you anyway. Why do you feel the need to retaliate? ED1T: Ninja'd by illwei answering my question ahead of time. Thanks! -

Well certified isn't a proper term, but as for Mountainous... Also, hallo Keredin Personally, I don't really believe in last loves. My hearts insatiable, you see. I'm always looking for the next one. 3:12 is the standard (without hidden votes) but I don't think that feature is enough to push the game toward 4:11. That said, I'm not a fan of distro guessing on D1 I'd rather focus on locating the first elim before I worry about how many partners they have. ED1T: I'm going to refrain from involving myself in this topic for a bit, but was Archer V or E in that game? -

I had a similar conversation with Kas before the game started, except Kaladin instead of Shallan Hence Awoman being here to pick up his fellow losers. yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? (yes I counted) With Orlok being player number 15 (not 14) and this being a strictly roleless game, that means we're playing an MU Champs certified Mountainous Game folks. My favorite -

Well this game does start tomorrow, and you've not posted the sign ups yet, which means at least a week until your game starts Should you post it today, that's still 6 full cycles of this game in which you could either be exed or NK'd. Plus with 13 members atm (14 counting you) there's a decent chance it won't last that long either way. -

I swear, every generation of spren just gets weirder and weirder. I'm still rolling my eyes at Icecreamspren and Trashbagspren. Dripcupspren is oddly endearing tho. Even cuter than Keyringspren imo. -
Break Tank 1: The Auction of Stories
Amanuensis replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That or maybe the GM publicly revealing who successfully got items for how many bids without revealing the specifics each cycle, so the Village doesn't get blindsided and the elims don't know who got what power exactly - or, if we want to prevent elims from knowing who got something and who didn't, having failed bids still earn votes anyway. Us knowing from the start of each turn would allow the village to immediately strategize around the minimum threshold.- 345 replies
