Well, besides that Wh40k has a "soft" magic system while cosmere is mostly "hard-coded", there are some similarities... but i guess the "shards" in Wh40k are a lot more abstract and there is no spiritual realm. Also, even Hemalurgy is not as "messy" as most magic systems in WH40k...

With WoT its difficult to really like or dislike it, for me at least.I marathon-read it in less than two months, and lI like it in general, but relatively few things in particular. Some plot-lines were somewhere between annoying and boring - I think it was intention to some amount - and somewhere the story didn't move at all (for example Perrin's camping for three or four volumes)
