[Secret Histories Spoilers] Fused Hemalurgical Spikes
The Sovereign replied to Rlain's topic in Mistborn
Your question has some interesting variables that probably need to be answered before I can really try to answer; 1.) Are the spikes invested before they are merged? Or are the metals made into said composite spike and then used for Hemalurgy? 2.) Where in the body is the composite spike placed? Just the eye socket? If they we're individual spikes before being merged, were they in different bind points? Some other things; we have seen precedent that Metalminds can used as Hemalurgic spikes (TLR's actual bracers were Hemalurgic spikes) obviously there is Warranted skepticism that the BoM spear head was actually made from TLR's bracers. But we have WoB relating to Copperminds being physically damaged and it damaging the stored memories (I am on my mobile so I will add them later). In addition, investiture interferes. Both of these could cause complications. Voidus, as Pathfinder said and Dark Alley aside you typically have good insight on Hemalurgy related questions, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. -
Hoid's surprise at being able to harm Kelsier seems to imply that normally he can't harm others, not that he won't do it.

[Bands Spoilers] People on the Broadsheet
The Sovereign replied to The Sovereign's topic in Mistborn
That was my first thought as well. -
I am about half way through my re-read of Bands of Mourning and I noticed something quite interesting on one of the Broadsheets. "Do your metal tools talk to you? You're neighbors probably don't want to hear about it, but we do. Visit K or N." This seems to be the 2nd reference to Kriss and Nazh in Bands of Mourning, did anyone else pick up on this?
-
It would be highly unlikely that they could awaken an already invested object. Investiture interferes with other investiture. I think the thing to really focus on as to why Nightblood is so powerful is the strength of the command he had. For starters it is a very direct and yet extremely ambiguous command "Destroy Evil". Also intent is maybe the most important part of using investiture. I suspect that when we learn more about Shashara in "Nightblood" we will find out there was a lot more going on with the command than what is at face value.

The confirmation was in imriel452's signed edition of Bands of Mourning:

Random Stuff VII: The Admins Awaken
The Sovereign replied to Young Bard's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I finally finished Retail, now I don't know what to do with my spare time.... it left me with a Christopher Walken like need for more... (except substitute cow bell for Lunker)... I think this was my favorite Lunker comic in the series: -
You would be half right here, as you said, shard being splintered is not a problem for the "reconstruction". This WoB supports that: However, Harmony himself is precedent that the shards do not need to be splintered to be reassembled.
-
Argent, you need to get out of my head.

Hoid is a Feruchemist, I suspect his knowledge of investiture and the Feruchemical manipulation of Identity are both large contributors in him picking up so many powers.
-
Obviously this is speculation, but I think the Harmonium symbol is a really big indicator to Hoid's overall goal. Not that he is trying to acquire Harmonium or anything like that, I suspect that Brandon drew the symbol as a nod to it being the first step to recombining the shards. With this clue my guess is that Hoid is trying to reassemble Adonalsium.

I know what you mean.... Due to the horror that is snow I had to re-buy The Emperor's Soul, I asked a pretty juicy Secret History question in my inscription.
-
I suspect we would see Tia use a gun.
-
A question I have been meaning to ask for a while but that has been lower on my list than others is "Is Aslydin a Feruchemist" feel free to use it if you want.
-
Due to an sad event with snow, my backpack, and my copy of the Emperor's Soul I just ordered a new copy of The Emperor's Soul. I of course opted to have it personalized. We may well know more about Senna once my new copy comes in... then again my question was definitely RAFO-able so we'll see.

Travel to Sel is difficult because the bulk of the Investitures of Dominion and Devotion currently reside in the Cognitive Realm rather than the Spiritual realm like usual. With Elantris anniversary edition we know that at the time of Elantris, Dominion's shardpool was also intact as Hoid uses it to leave Sel after his conversation with a Skaze about his failed attempt to become an Elantrian. We have no reason to think it is not still functional.
-
We do indeed, however, it does not directly answer the question. Keep in mind from the Galactic view the Cosmere is relatively small. But, I think your guess is a good one. Relevant WoB:
-
I concur with you here. The implication that I got from this along with SFS and a couple of WoBs on the shades is as bad the damage they can do to you in the Physical realm they are significantly worse in the Cognitive realm. I am currently looking for the WoB I am referring to and will post them when I can but it is a bit tough from my mobile...

[Secret History spoilers] Did we just get another Shard named?
The Sovereign replied to PallonianFire's topic in Mistborn
In another scene we may have got another shard's name. Leras at one point makes a comment about failing against Ati and addresses his curse to Senna. Another Shardholder? -
Yes and no, he notices it on the train and basically scoffs at it.

It seemed pretty clear by the description at the end of SoS that it was the Bronze Spike Earring that Vin wore. I doubt it was just lost and that is the end of it. Your point about it being a bit forced is a good one though, which bring me pack to my speculation that it will come up in The Lost Metal.
-
Was anyone else waiting for Wax to make use of Vin's Earring the entire book? Wax's deliberately disregards it early on but after his Heart-to-heart (Soul-to-god?) with Harmony I was expecting that he would end up putting it in during the Epilogue or something, obviously this did not happen. This seems too big to just be a red herring. I suspect it will come up during The Lost Metal. Thoughts?
