  1. From the album: Lexi's fanart

Latest attempt. I'm surprisingly pleased how this turned out, though I'll have to work on my skills on drawing faces/features of different ethnicity.
  2. From the album: Lexi's fanart

One of my first attempts. I didn't have a picture of Kal's slave brands to look at, so just some random lines.
  3. I've written this before, but I'm 100% certain that "unite them" at least means "unite humans and listeners". Odium and the Fused don't give a crem about whether or not the listeners survive this. For them, they're meatsuits waiting to be occupied, and should the listeners perish along with humans on their rampage, who cares? For all Odium or the Fused care, all of Roshar could explode. So. I'm pretty sure "humans vs. listeners" won't be the solution. I'm far from Cosmere-savvy, so I can't say much about that.
  4. Nah, I'm not worried about that. Actually, I've long given up trying to predict any of Sanderson's books. Whenever I think I've figured out how his books work I'm proven wrong.
  5. I really can't see Jasnah being married off. Who would be stupid enough to even try? Just like Kaladin wouldn't be willing to play this game. Right now, I don't see them falling in love. I don't care about the age gap, they're both grown up and know what they're doing (Jasnah more so than Kal), but it would take a lot for them to come around and fall in love. I don't think it's impossible tho. BTW, I don't play the "but they're straight!!11" game. I was convinced I was straight for the first twenty years of my life. Guess what. Which doesn't mean I believe anyone of Adolin or Kaladin might be bi or fall for each other. I simply enjoy the occasional fanfic, because they are compatible in many ways. Beside all that, I still like how OB was resolved. I'm not saying Shallan and Adolin won't have problems, I bet they will, and I also do believe they rushed into the marriage. But that isn't unbelievable, as it might be the end of the world, and people tend to rush things when they believe there might not be much time left. This certainly was a factor in them getting married that fast. I also don't think Kaladin is still in love with Shallan without realizing it. It was much the opposite: He thought he was, but it was not romantic attraction. Believe it or not, I can imagine something like this to happen. Not every "I like when she smiles" and "I feel better with her around" equals love. Also, I think it's unfair to call Shallan a liar, manipulative b**** and what not. She has severe mental issues that manifest in a lot of ways. That doesn't mean she doesn't deserve to be with Adolin, who may not know everything about her, but he does know about her problems and he does want to help her through them.
  6. Y'know, you don't need to ship them, but you could at least try and be respectful. (Hint: Implying gay pairs are gross is not.) Also, I'd very much like to know when Kaladin ever really hoped to marry Laral. That stopped very early in their youth. Right now, I only ship Kaladin with happiness, everything else can storm off. Really, I'm tired of people always trying to get every character in a romantic relationship.
  7. Thanks I actually believe it was the fastest I ever read in my life. And let me tell you, it wasn't completely healthy. I was sleep-deprived, unable to concentrate on work, cancelled social appointments and forgot to eat at some days. I'm still barely able to do anything else except "talk about SA", "refresh 17th Shard in case anyone posted something in the SA subforum" and "find and reblog ALL Tumblr posts on SA"
  8. Read WoK in 2011, WoR in 2015, then had a Branderson hiatus for 3,5 years. Little more than four weeks ago I started rereading Stormlight after buying OB, I had forgotten too much. I read all three books within three weeks, finished OB last tuesday night at 2 am.
  9. I'm hype for SA4! Of course, I read OB for the first time a week ago and the prospect of only having to wait two years for the next book is awesome. (BTW, drop in quality be stormed, I didn't notice any.) I haven't read Mistborn Era 2 yet, so I'm kinda behind on schedule and don't yet care much about that. Will have to reread MB 1 first to get into the Cosmere again. And then maybe I'll finish Reckoners ... some time ... (Also, could someone please enlighten me about what Koloss Head Munching Day is? I'm confused.)
  10. I am very very certain that we don't know nearly enough about Szeth, respectively Shin culture and historical knowledge. I'm dying to learn more about the secrets these people hide behind those mountains. Also, I believe Eshonai's flashbacks and Venli's POV chapter are going to complement each other very well, and I'm optimistic about everything turning out to be as it should.
  11. Thank you!!! I figured it would need a lot to revive a spren completely, so this is most likely going to be an "Oath by Oath awakening" ^^ I'm glad you like Adolin here, he's fun to write
  12. Has this been done yet? (Oathbringer spoilers. Kind of.)
  13. Definitely Elhokar. I was NOT expecting this, and even when the little lighta around him flickered out, I couldn't really comprehend it at first. It felt like a knife in the back. I wasn't surprised about Eshonai though. I remembered how she fell into the chasm in WoR and a WoB that said there could be flashback books for characters who are already dead, and I kinda figured.
  14. Another thought: The Windrunner gem says something like "am I not supposed to protect others?", which, if the Windrunners from back then were the same dramatic all-or-nothing little storms like Kaladin is, an Oath like "I will let go of those I cannot save", easily could translate to them as "I have to stop protecting others!? D:" So, uh, maybe there's not so much to it if you're a sensble human being with realistic expectations.
  15. Thank you! I have no true ambitions for this, but it's nice to hear it probably didn't turn out to be crem ^^"
  16. This. Also, I truly believe that "Unite them!" means not only uniting the humans of Roshar, but humans and listeners. Neither Fused nor Odium give two chips about the listeners as long as they get to go on their rampage to destroy humans. So most likely both sides have to get a grip on themselves and work together or all will be dead, in the end. I believe Venli is beginning to see this by the end of OB.
  17. Funny how different things can feel for different people. I'm incredbly grateful for how it was resolved and that there wasn't some stupid love triangle drama. I find both Shallan's and Kaladin's reasoning believable. I liked their ship back in WoR, but I was never really invested, and I truly believe both of them need someone more stable in their lives. Shallan and Adolin are a good match, they have chemistry, and after I found them a bit annoying back in WoR, I ame to like them as a couple. Also, I believe Shallan made some progress during OB. It's just that a trauma like hers doesn't simply go away. Also, bear in mind, Kaladin doesn't really get Shallan. He sees her smiling and he thinks she's somehow dealing with everything she went through better than he - but int ruth, I believe the opposite is the case. Kaladin knows nothing about Shallan's split personality issues, while Adolin is much more aware of this and still wants to be with her and he can deal with this. Kaladin has enough to deal with by himself. Also, he is a dork and his social skills really have room for improvement. It's very realistic that he mistook his feelings for Shallan for romantic attraction. By the end of OB, I believe all three of them are in a good place - as good as is possible given the circumstances. There are no bitter feeling between Kaladin and Adolin or Shallan and Kaladin. They're friends. I like that a lot.
  18. Granted. You even get a whole pizza. In addition, some weird type will stand before your window the whole night, screaming about how much they hate pineapple on a pizza. I wish to never have to do laundry again. Ever.
  19. Granted. You get a moustache on your forehead and the goatee on the tip of sour nose. I wish to be less lazy and more disciplined.
  20. So, this is my first attempt a writing a SA fic. Please excuse bad language, English is not my native tongue. Also, this (and following chapters, there will be at least one more) is mostly me having fun with the characters and not to be taken all too seriously. It involves Adolin doing for Maya what we all want him to do, Adolin meeting Kaladin's family, some fun and maybe some vague Kaladin/Adolin undertones even though I don't actually ship them. You can also read it on AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/17042888/chapters/40070771?view_adult=true (There's currently a not-so-revised version online, will update it later) Well, uh, have fun. And, of course, this contains Oathbringer spoilers. (With spoiler tags to not use too much space.)
  21. The question is now, who of them is which Herald?
  22. K A L A D I N. Yeah, there's really no room for discussion here. Kaladin ist not only my favorite Radiant, he's also by far my favorite character in SA, my favorite Cosmere character, my favorite fantasy character ... honestly, I don't believe I've ever felt so strongly about a fictional character. (This coming from me, who's not over Akkarin ten years after reading The Black Magician Trilogy) Following are Renarin, Teft, Jasnah. (Adolin would be here too, but I guess he doesn't quite count yet. ) Dalinar, Lift and Shallan come third. Least favorite would be Nale. I don't really have a strong opinion about Malata yet as we don't know nearly enough about her.
  23. I guess my main point on this was that Dalinar is mankind's best shot at surviving this mess right now and that Sebarial knows this. Whether that is the good or the right side to be on strongly depends on the individual's perspective.
  24. Granted, but there aren't any highstorms here so you won't get any Stormlight to use your powers. I wish to have the ability to always know the right decision.
  25. "I will forgive myself for not being able to save everyone." That's at least something he'll need to do and it's going to be so difficult. Or maybe it's even simpler: "I will forgive myself." Which wouldn't only be a challenge for Kaladin, but also for the other 3rd Oath Windrunner we have so far: Teft.
