  1. ... When you want to buy this copy of A Memory of Light in the store before having even started reading Wheel of Time ...
  2. Ever since I read Steelheart I thought it could make a great movie. This is exciting news! ... Now I really should hurry and go read Firefight.
  3. Started "City of Thieves" by David Benioff today.
  4. Primeval - Fighting the Darkness
  5. You know you're a Sanderfan when you watch The Legend of Korra where they deal with the "Everstorm" and you are like "But it's supposed to be red!"
  6. WoR spoiler:
  7. When you spent time trying to create a ketek until you finally accept that you're simply too stupid to do so.
  8. Started "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr yesterday. Can't say yet if I'll like it.
  9. I sort of can't decide between Stick and Bridge Four. And maybe the spheres because the scene meant so much.
  10. I'd recommend Words of Radiance while Way of Kings is still fresh. The four years between those two were bad for my memory.
  11. I kinda think I'll start with "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr like, tomorrow or something.
  12. You are right. I should know my place.
  13. Horse and cat. Falko is a 20 years old gelding. He is starting to show some age and doesn't do hard work anymore. Bobby is 13 and pretty much considers the house and my bed as HIS.
  14. My name is Alexa. Short version of Alexandra. I always get called Alexandra by people who don't know me very long. My nick name is Lexi. When I was a child, I hated my name because it was so rare (I know a bunch of Alexandras, but met only very few Alexas in my life), but I made my peace with it.
  15. Shame on me. (In my defense: It's been five years since I read Mistborn and Elantris, four since Warbreaker and I forgot like every single detail. I wish I had time to reread all of them. I would start right now.)
  16. This made my evening, so take a brand new pair of polished boots.
  17. "Every Day" by David Levithan might be worth a look.
  18. You know you're a fan when you and your friends get lost and everyone wants to kill you after a few hours because you just keep repeating "journey before destination" over and over again.
  19. My father didn't like Warbreaker, a friend of mine disliked the ending of Mistborn. On of my best friends isn't into high fantasy AT ALL, but I almost convinced her to try SA because I talked nonstop about it. Only almost, though, but I know she wouldn't be happy with the books, so I'm okay with it.
  20. Not all THAT impressive, considering how many of Sanderson's books I haven't read yet: Some are the German editions - Mistbon 1-3, Warbreaker and Steelheart. Also, I have Legion and Infinity Blade: Awakening as e-books.
  21. I think I'd be lighteyed - my eyes are, depending on the light, greyish-blue-green. Thay can appear darker at times, but in general it's alight colour.
  22. Eeeeh, I forgot two scenes that made me react in VERY funny ways. First one was the one where Kal and friends are supposed to learn how to ride a horse. Moash's "Can't I just slap it on the head like a chull to make it stop?" cracked me up. I'm a rider and have a horse myself, so I know how much that wouldn't work and it was HILARIOUS to see Kaladin being TERRIFIED of getting on the horse The second scene was the one with Sebarial in the showdown. Everyone's screaming and running around in terror, dying or already dead, and he and his wife just sit there, save an unorganised army from certain death, eat and READ BOOKS. I LOVED that. "The end of the world? Meh, better get this book done. And look, food is flying by, would be a shame if it ended up in the chasms."
  23. Nope, it really is not all that bad, but it hasn't only nothing to do with the books, it also looks very much the same as about 80% of German fantasy novels. The titles are worse, though. THe best one so far was Elantris - they just left it the way it was, just like Steelheart The worst was the German title of Well of Ascension: "Krieger des Feuers" - Warrior(s) of fire. What warrior and what fire? Hero of Ages wasn't good, but at least made some sense: "Herrscher des Lichts" - Ruler of light. And I never understood why Warbreaker became "Sturmklänge" (Storm Sounds). Meh.
  24. I'm not. I went to university for a while after I finfished school, but I skipped it because I hated it. Now I'm bookseller in training and I love it.
