  1. Pokémon Go has gotten me to walk somewhere over 9 miles this week alone. I haven't done that much in a very long time. Pretty sweet (though my legs are protesting loudly). jW
  2. I'm currently collapsed on the couch sweating even after a long cold shower, because I added another 2.7 miles to my walking this week, making for a total of just over 9 miles for the week. Considering I probably haven't walked 9 miles total in the last year (only a slight exaggeration), that's a huge accomplishment for me. I credit Pokémon Go, of course. jW
  3. Sorry, yep, mixed up the times I meant to reference. Wasn't the Recreance 4500 years prior to WoK, though, or am I mixed up on that too? jW
  4. Not exactly, but it's been roughly 4500 years since Honor was splintered, I believe I've gathered. Elantris was sometime around a few thousand years ago at the earliest, and there had been Shards there, Invested in the planet (and maybe the moon?) and then who had been splintered quite a while before as best as we can tell. My personal estimate is that the Shattering was no less than 8000-10000 years prior to WoK, and maybe further back. jW
  5. I can't check now, but do any of those other Cryptics "heads" show up as icons anywhere else? jW
  6. I'd be amazed if a group of hunters could have gotten to northern Scadrial, found the Shardpool, and worldhopper out in time to have a descendent born offworld who becomes our lovable masked lady. They haven't had the airship technology that long, I didn't think (a good while inworld, but still not several generations ago), and if they were roaming around even in the Roughs, someone would have run across them. I get the impression the southern Scadrians haven't been to northern Scadrial very many times, and only fairly recently. My guess is they didn't use a pool to worldhop, but one of the other methods we're mostly unaware of, possibly with Secret History spoilers. jW
  7. I think Hoid was trying to be witty with Gibletish, and it was undetectable by people who didn't have knowledge of the word giblet. That's the "guts" of a fowl; I think he was trying to make a comment about how useless of an effort it would seem to try to take a person (or animal) that's been split up and put them back together; you get gibletish. jW
  8. Just one clarification there: the WoB at least implies that she isn't from Scadrial herself; most likely her parents or other ancestors were worldhopper, so her ancestry is SoScad, but she herself isn't, and thus wouldn't have necessarily needed a post Final Empire Shardpool. jW
  9. I was pretty sure we had a WoB that neither the Pits or the Well still existed (as Shardpools). I could be remembering wrong, or reading more into a WoB than I should be, though. jW
  10. @Doctor12 already got it, but hasn't posted a new drawing yet. jW
  11. Just went and walked around a popular park here with a lake. There were I believe 15 Pokestops in all, and I caught probably 50-60 Pokémon, in maybe an hour. First Dratini, Magikarp, Slowpoke, and I think a couple other types. People started running towards what someone said was a Snorlax, but I didn't bother, dunno if I would even have been high enough level (went from 9 to 11 tonight too, though, thanks to a lucky egg). jW
  12. I can't find it, but I thought there was a WoB that implicitly or explicitly confirmed the element was the Lerasium bead. I could be wrong, though, and that could just be bad head-canon. jW
  13. Real Football (Gridiron, or American Football).
  14. Just got a Ghastly. Couldn't resist naming it Nightblood. jW
  15. True, except there could also be worldhoppers on First of the Sun via the CR, and/or Sixth of the Dusk may have become a worldhopper himself. Faster Than Light. :-) jW
  16. I didn't really intend to play Pokemon Go, even after I downloaded it (I was just curious how the AR part worked), but…I'm kinda hooked. For those that don't know, I have a massive headache that's gone 2.5+ years strong, fibromyalgia, fatigue, and a whole host of other issues, and frankly, I spend most of my days laying on the couch. Yesterday, after a night of insomnia, I got out of the house at 7AM and went for a ~2 mile walk. Today, at 2PM, I did the same thing in 94 degree weather (actually felt a lot cooler than I expected, because of a storm rolling in and a cool breeze with it). That's 4 miles, maybe closer to 5, in two days, when I doubt I walk a tenth of a mile in an average day. My Pokemon names, once I got clever (spoilered for length): jW
  17. Do the Ones Above (from Sixth of the Dust) have FTL travel? Or do they come from within the same solar system as First of the Sun? jW
  18. Actually, I wonder about that. Could First of the Sun be in the same system as another planet, thus not requiring the Ones Above to have FTL yet? That would even make the name make tons of sense, though of course they wouldn't have necessarily known there was another planet in their solar system. jW
  19. Thanks! Added a bunch of those to my "Want to Read" shelf. I might add a link to my shelves in my signature if I can decide on a good looking way. jW
  20. We get requests like this often enough, has anyone put together a list on something like GoodReads that can be accessed easily? jW
  21. Dr Strange is rumored to have or get an Infinity Stone (Soul Gem? Not sure which one), which I thought was related to some of his powers, but definitely didn't seem even hinted at in the trailer. Still looks ridiculously cool (and I actually laughed out loud when The Operative gave him the wifi password). jW
  22. Wow, that sounds amazing and I hadn't heard anything about it yet! Nice find! Edit: Wow, $50, and the $250 edition is already sold out? jW
