Is it really this bleak though? New Windrunners can be made. Albeit not a simple as new Fused. You just have to be ahead of the curve enough to account for training and new bonds. From what we have seen so far they seem to be slightly ahead. Plus with time more will swear the fourth oath hopefully. To me the situation is more of a stalemate and that can be considered just as bad.

I told myself I would not read the pre-view chapters this time around but caved in yesterday because I have zero willpower. I actually liked this chapter the best so far which is surprising to me because I typically have not enjoyed Eshonai/Venli chapters in the past. I think mainly what I liked was this chapter gave a spark of hope although I think Venli's plan is obviously a tough one to accomplish. Needed a little bit of a lifter after the depressing Kaladin moment of chapter 10.

Sorry just catching up o this thread.. He said two or three and we have one coming in book 4 and then another in book 7 or 8. So that leave 0-1 in the previous 3 books. The summoning of the Everstorm seems like a clear one. I would think "I am Unity" would have been one also but maybe not.

Great interlude and makes me want to see a lot more Spren POV. Very juicy tidbits dropped about Bondsmith. I really liked the conversation with Dalinar. Nice to see sharplate creation all but confirmed. Not sure what I think about the Kaladin situation but I am really hoping he is not fully regressing.

Good choice. As considered by single works that one is my favorite as well.

I was ok with the first three books but the 4th and especially 5th left a lot to be desired. The books start to meander a lot and a few of the plot lines really fell short on top of some serious use of deus ex machina in the final books. The only good part of the last book in my opinion was the alternative ending posted on the authors website.

Yes I read the book first! There was a delay on the audio book. Thought it was great and I actually liked these books better than the first ones. The original narrator just did a fantastic job. Actually Styke voice is the one that drives me the craziest with the new narrator. Completely different. All good.

Decided to listen Blood of Empire and this is the first audio book I am thinking of returning in a long time. I understand why Christian Rodska couldn't narrate it and I think the current narrator is not bad but the characters voices and inflections are so different it makes the story feel like it was written by a different author.

Haha Tom was one of my favorite characters. The characters were actually pretty good just felt like the ending was kinda meh.

I finally finished The Stand. I didn't think I would ever get through that book! I wouldn't put it on my favorites list but it was not horrible.

Read the first ones! They are good. The second series was just better but I think you will get a lot more out of them if you read the first ones.

@Benghis son son Kahn Man I love The Magician audio books. I’ve listened to them probably about 8 times. I felt pretty similar to you regarding Lightbringer. I still liked WoT although it’s a commitment and there are some books that drag along I felt like the payoff was way worth it compared to Lightbringer. As mentioned above I like Brian McClellan’s Powder Mage books are good but his second series set in the same world is even better. I absolutely loved Licanius it’s one of my favorite series.

I FINALLY made it through The Stand. Didn’t think I’d ever finish that book! Not a bad book but wouldn’t call it great either. I’m starting Broken Earth trilogy again. I’ve already made it further than my first attempt about a 1/3 through the first book. Like the first time I tried it hasn’t really hooked me yet but I find myself with a lot more time for books at the moment.

But Waxillium is such a cool name! My wife picked the name Bennett from Eliza's last name in Pride and Prejudice. If I could do it over agin I would have pushed for Elend.

I have not read the books or played the games but really liked the show. Looking forward to season 2.

I do not want to spoil anything but I respectfully couldn't disagree more with these two statements. That being said if you do not like the characters now you probably never will. I've liked the series since book one and the the conclusion in book three is one of my all time favorites. I also really like all the characters and they all had interesting arcs in my opinion. I'll admit though I have not read SoT so I cannot relate to the similarities. There were for sure some similarities to other fantasy series I've read though but that is pretty much always the case.

I listened to the audiobook actually. I heard there were something included by the author in the hardcover regarding a couple characters that may get a novella.

Haha good. It’s kinda a marathon Instead of a sprint and there are for sure some slow parts but it really is pretty good in its entirety. I remember liking the first few books a lot. Also the last ones Brandon wrote were good.

That scene with the Scout Troopers lmao. I'm going to re-watch the season this weekend. I really like where this is going and looking forward to season 2.

Oh you mean the start start haha! Yeah give it a little more time. I can’t remember it chapter to chapter it’s been a while but overall it’s a decent book and the series gets better. Then not as good then good again!
