  1. Either that or the strength Epic would be affecting him as if he had normal amounts of strength.
  2. Well, I'd say that if Neutrality for instance shot Deathwish, Deathwish would still heal but Neutrality would be unaffected. Like what happens if Deathwish hurts himself- the damage heals and is reflected back onto no-one. I think Neutrality being completely immune to the primary and secondary affects of Epic powers ON HIM works, as opposed to reaching out and affecting other Epics. For instance, an Epic throwing a car at him is a tertiary affect, and would affect him. A strength Epic does not lose his strength when trying to pick Neutrality up, the strength just doesn't affect him as it would anyone else. I think rephrasing his power to simply cancel the aspects of powers that impact him personally is easier to articulate and manage in-game.
  3. I don't like the idea that Neutrality can cancel High Epic passive abilities, it is a very strong ability. I'd err on the side that cancelling passive abilities should be impossible, without that Epic's weakness.
  4. He would likely know the names and rough details about Corpsemaker and Altermind, but not much about Lightwards.
  5. as far as I know the only thing that has stopped Salem has been lack of interest from people, as well as general busy-ness at this time you should be fine to make a post if you like
  6. yeah id like it if you waited please, the mechs haven't been launched yet. I plan to make a CM post sending them out around the time the Neverthere fight happens
  7. Melbourne, 16 months ago Quakezone Quakezone frowned as he watched the fierce, gale-force winds rip through Melbourne. Rainman, somewhere nearby, was doing this, causing winds to tear through the streets, strong enough in some places to rip roofs off buildings and knock over trees. The Epic was also responsible for the huge, angry clouds gathered over this suburb, lightning striking continuously, lighting fires and striking down any foolish enough to leave the safety of their houses. How was he supposed to conquer the city in weather like this? Another shock of wind caused the house to shudder, and he turned away from the window with a frustrated sigh. He wore all black, with a white cape. He wasn't sure if he wanted to keep his uniform like this though.... perhaps invert the colours? Ah well, he could worry about it later. "Send another scout out, I want to know exactly where Rainman and his thugs are hiding." Quakezone ordered. His assembled gang of thugs muttered among themselves, and Grenadier looked up, him and the pther Epics separate from the humans. "But sir, the last sc out we sent got fried three steps out of the door-" "Then send two! At least one should make it! And as long as they carry their mobiles, they can give us the location before they die." The humans he had conscripted into fighting for him looked nervously at each other. Quakezone abruptly pointed to two of them. "You two! Go! Or I will rip you into little pieces!" The thugs paled, and slowly made their way to the front door. "NOW!" The thugs almost bolted, pushing to be the first out the door. The pair for across the street before a bolt of lightning hit one, turning him into a charred corpse. The other, however, avoided this fate as he fled across the street, through the fierce wind, and disappeared around a corner. Dreadbearer stepped up beside his leader. Quakezone turned to him. "You think he will be back?" The Epic shrugged. "Probably not. But he might give us Rainman's location anyway. Is it really necessary that you have the exact house, anyway? Quakezone snorted in response. "You have any idea how stupid I will look, flying into a house and blowing it apart, only to have gotten the wrong place? I'd rather not blow up every house on the block finding the little cretin." It was another hour before Grenadier got a text, detailing the exact address of Rainman's hideout, and a picture for proof. Quakezone smiled, memorizing the place. "Ladies and gentlemen! When I return, this infernal weather will have stopped! And our campaign of conquest shall continue!" He flew out through the closed window, heedless of the smashing glass. In seconds he was in the sky, struggling against the winds and ignoring the lightning bolts that struck him. Soon he had the house in view, and he laughed, unable to hear himself over the wind. He picked up speed, one fist forward, and as he smashed into the wall. He amplified the force of his punch, and the wall imploded. He continued through, blinded by dust and plaster, and he felt it as he crashed through several more walls. Thanks to his invincibility and the way his power worked, he didn't feel them nearly as much as he should have. The house exploded and collapsed around him as he burst out the other side. Shaking the dust off of himself, he turned to inspect his handiwork. The charming, middle-class suburban residence had become nothing but a pile of rubble. The weather began clearing up, and the wind began slowing. He picked through the rubble, briefly scanning for survivors, but all he found were the bodies of Rainman's gang. Suddenly he heard a cough, and he turned to see a pile of rubble shifting. He lazily batted the rubble aside, revealing a battered and bloody Rainman. "Please.... I... I will serve..." He whimpered. Quakezone smiled. "Yes... yes you will." He cleared the rubble away from Rainman and let him pull himself up. "From now on, you serve me, are we understood?" Rainman nodded reluctantly. "Now.... this suburb is secure. Use your powers to cause storms only over areas that I do not control. I will have people know that they are safe, as long as they remain loyal and within my protection." The clouds abated, and the sun peeked through, for the first time in days. Quakezone grinned sinisterly. "Today is a new dawn, Rainman. I am almost prepared to seize total control over this city, and take what is my due. Yes.... today is when things start to go my way."
  8. Again!?
  9. Well multiple sets of bones inside you would get quite crowded. Picture your body right now. Now imagine an entire other skeleton inside you. Maybe a Kandra disguised as an enormously obese person could hide the bones in fat, but it seems more trouble than it is worth.
  10. yeah that is certainly plausible.
  11. That's pretty interesting information, actually. A lot less than one might think.
  12. judging from Marsh's povs in HoA, Ruin indeed controlled every movement and thought in their heads, when he focused on them at least. I think it likely that your idea is correct, and that Ruin simply could not do it himself (as he needed the Inquisitors to do it themselves) but he was unwilling to give them enough rope to do so, lest they hang themselves. It probably would have taken a while for Ruin to figure out how to get each individual Inquisitor to learn the method and the understanding while simultaneously crushing their free will. It is also likely that the individual Inquisitors didn't WANT to learn Compounding. Under Ruin's focus, their outlooks became truly evil, but we can only assume that they were as unwilling as Marsh under it all. Maybe not AS unwilling, and not as morally good (depending on who they used to be (since about 8-10 were from the Lord Ruler's era)), but certainly anyone would reject such intrusive and total control of their beings in the service of a creature intent on destroying the world. This unwillingness was likely another barrier to them properly learning Compounding.
  13. I don't think Sazed could have saved literally anyone from the south. The Originators were those who were in underground caverns during the few moments of burning day northern scadrial got, hot enough to set trees on fire. Everyone in northern scadrial who wasn't in a cavern could only have been killed, otherwise Sazed would have saved them and they would be joined with the Originators. And the south got hours and hours of sunlight, there is no way they could have survived, unless they have caverns of their own.
  14. Well if Ruin is more powerful of the two then I can easily see, perhaps over a long time, Harmony growing less harmonious and more discordant.
  15. Yay! Raise a new little RPer for us!
  16. What Happened Out of Canon Like, random stories and funny situations that are not canon and (sadly) never will be but they are fun to write anyway
  17. Degrees of corruption were a part of every big institution, business and government in history. But it was more than corruption that made the Final Empire and its ruler evil.
  18. Ok sounds good. Hopefully things pick back up once people finish all their finals and such. I don't know the feeling, given that my exams were a month ago aha and I have had almost nothing but free time since
  19. RP related activity seems to have really dropped lately :\ What major stuff needs to happen next in each thread, and who is doing it? Astoria: the midnight tower fight, the destructor/blackwave/dragoon meeting Corvallis: reactions to new attacks Portland: Neverthere fight, Chimera fight? Not sure Salem: Mouldbreaker reaction to disturbance Dalles: Bus chase, other stuff? Not sure What progress are we making on that stuff? Just trying to see where everything is at and all, and where everyone is
  20. Unless the heat magically doesn't transfer from you to the outside. As in, the process of tapping brass decreases the ability of your skin to transfer heat to things in contact with it.
  21. I picture it being role-played like this: Remington drew his gun, aiming down the sights at this new Epic. He aimed straight for its head, steadying his breathing. But just as he went to squeeze the trigger, he felt.... Like he didn't want to anymore. Why... Why would I want to kill this glorious creature? It is... Perfect!. He lowers the gun, and his mind clears. Wait... Of course I want to kill it, it is threatening Sam and Revolution! He forgets his doubts, raising his gun once more, but as soon as he does, feelings of peace and wonder fill him. He tries to resist, knowing that it must be some Epic power... But he cannot. His desire to fire melts away, and he lowers his gun once more. Joy is replaces by frustration, and he charges at the Epic, drawing a knife. But as he gets closer the Epic turns to him, and with a gesture he feels his anger disappear. He struggles forward, ignoring the emotions, but as he gets within striking range, the Epic's aura overpowers him. "How could I bring myself to hurt such perfection, no matter what it is doing? What gives me the right to do something so awful?" Remington drops the knife, and the Epic laughs as his senses return to him. "Thank you for the entertainment!" The Epic gloats and leaves, Remington knowing that nothing he does could let him kill the creature.
  22. Although if it is only temporary that concern itself isn't as bad.
  23. Love seems like it would be the logical opposite to hate.
  24. The usual standard on mental manipulation (in fact, for most powers in general) is that Epics are more resistant than vanillas. I was conceiving of Peacegiver's power as more than simply soothing/rioting though. More like his PI is separate, but linked to his soothing/rioting, but his PI works by mind-controlling people to not kill him by convincing them that he is perfect and beautiful. It is more than simple emotional manipulation, it is full mental control, albeit only mental control to not do one specific thing.
  25. Well i could see vanillas being affected by the power to such a degree that they simply couldn't pull the trigger. Mind control is a thing we have, after all.
