One thing that we haven't seen much of in this RP have been human soldiers, gangsters or conscripts fighting on behalf or with their Epic masters. Steelheart mentioned Steelheart using battle tanks against another Epic, which implies that that Epic had a military of sorts of its own for those tanks to fight. It stands to reason for me that many Epics would conscript vanillas into gangs or what-not and send them against the conscripted gangs of OTHER Epics. I dunno, its just something we haven't seen much is all.

A fascinating concept! These scientists would need to be gods for their goal to even have a chance of succeeding, though. And are they themselves just in an alternate universe? Are there infinite copies of these teams in alternate universes fixing the rest of their multiverses problems? And why did they screw up so badly with Calamity???

It seems to me that love is just perhaps the one thing powerful enough to push Epics into even potentially facing their fears. The one thing that, when you are an immortal demigod, could possibly make you value another person's life above or equal to your own.

AND GET KILLED A HUNDRED TIMES YES

yeah but they will be there until Astoria gets wrecked, so... for a while

An interesting thing could be that Morpheus came to Salem because he heard about Soulcaster, and intends to mess up the thing he has going by invading the dreamstate. So during one of the arena matches for instance, Morpheus creates a bunch of nightmare monsters that attack the contestants and spectators, and Soulcaster has to wrestle mentally to take back control of the dream. Cause if Morpheus can create and project dreams, and everyone is sleeping and dreaming during arena matches, then it stands to reason he can interject into them.

Comatose and Corvallis players, do you think we are good to move the time to Mestiv's characters timeline? So like 11 or so? For most characters, at least.

All the scariest animals are active during the day, so Australians are mostly active at night Drop bears can't see you in the dark.

Australians all practice black magic. It is known

Especially since there are roughly the same amount of Epics in Australia as there are in California And we are so urbanised, there are really only a few big major cities in Australia where most of the population is centred. Most of the High Epics would statistically be concentrated in those five cities in those five separate and very far apart states. Australia as a whole should have: Population: 22 million High Epics: 22 Epics: 2200 Victoria: P: 5.86mil HE: 6 E: 586 New South Wales P: 7.54mil HE: 7 E: 754 South Australia P: 1.68mil HE: 2 E: 168 Queensland P: 4.74mil HE: 4 E: 474 Western Australia P: 2.59mil HE: 2 E: 259 Northern Territory P: 246,300 HE: 0 E: 24 ACT P: 387,100 HE: 0 E: 39 Tasmania P: 515,000 HE: 0 E: 51 Also, fun fact: I looked it up. My home town of Geelong has a pop of 222,000, and thus 22 Epics. Police numbers, to fight this menace? A substantial 200 officers I for one welcome our new Epic overlords.

Seems like there are a few aussies among us! I've been thinking up headcanon for all the Epics that are tearing up my homestate and hometown, and how many there are and such Melbourne gets 4 High Epics, for one, so they likely had lots of fun fighting each other endlessly for control of the city.

Well it is advisable to read through the thread first, to get a sense of how it all works and the flavor of the city and such.

Sounds like a good idea. Although a weekly update might look something like this: -Each player made a single post in a single thread. -Ponies and merriment was had

Well I can provide you with a run-down of each location: Salem: A city ruled by a powerful dream Epic (so you might be stepping on his toes going here, but ask Voidus haha) that stages elaborate arena fights in dream-land between Epics. Corvallis: a city ruled by an efficient and powerful group of Epics starts to slowly fall apart as their method of controlling the populace vanishes and outside forces invade. Less action-oriented. Astoria: a city filled with over-powered Epics on the verge of all-out war. Portland and the Dalles are both closed to new Epics, unfortunately. It sounds like Corvallis or Salem would be the best place for him I think. Comatose runs Corvallis and Voidus is the GM of Salem, so further input on you joining either of those threads is up to them.

I was reminded of Winter's offer of a Chase/Iconoclast alliance, and I'm thinking that that would work. She could drag him around the city at super-speed, and his healing would repair the inevitable damage his body would suffer. One downside though, is that as he did with Firefly, he would stress that they were equal partners. He might even compliment her on how important and useful she is to his efforts (without really meaning it though) so ironically his smart-arse bullchull might backfire and trigger the weakness of an ally
-
aww, that's sad yeah, she can just go terrorise somewhere else on earth it works pretty well Iconoclast will need a new potential third ally though.....

Looks like Converter will either be teleporting away or rescued within a few hours.

yeah that works for me

Atrophy watched in fascination as Cornucopia worked her powers on the creature. From the moment she put what appeared to be a seed into the man's mouth, he knew that something delightfully creative was going to occur. Painfully creative. But the creature... simply did not react. Even when a rosebud popped out of its mouth, and surely roots and vines were doing Calamity-knows-what to its insides, it simply didn't react. "Interesting...." He mumbled to himself, stroking his chin. "There are a few more and I'd like to see how they react to pain before we try to interrogate one so you can do what you want with this one, it doesn't have long to live in any event." Atrophy's sunken eyes twinkled. "It would be a pleasure, my Queen. I would very much like to have a look inside, and inspect their anatomy" Cornucopia released the creature from its restraints, and it slumped to the ground like a puppet with severed strings. Kneeling down, Atrophy moved the creature until it lay on its back, angry eyes fixed on him. He placed a hand on its chest. "Hmmm... its heart rate is incredibly high, and he is breathing rapidly. I expected as much. Captain, is the identity of this thing known?" "A survivor identified him... it, as Adam Lambert. Before today, a completely normal and contented citizen, at least outwardly." Atrophy nodded as he felt around Lambert's body, inspecting it by touch and removing its torn and bloody shirt. "Indeed.... knife, Captain. And your gloves." The officer drew his combat knife and took off his gloves, and handed them to the skeletal Epic. With a deft hand, Atrophy eviscerated the still form of the former worker in three strokes, forming a Y shape over his naked torso. Atrophy tossed the knife to the side and put on the gloves, peeling away the skin and revealing the internal organs. Several minutes of quiet and deliberate inspection followed, as blood pooled around Lambert, and the hateful light began fading in his eyes. Atrophy emerged from his grisly and macabre adventure, throwing the gloves aside as he rose to his feet. "It seems as though, internally, there is nothing wrong with it. Whatever happens to these things, the change seems entirely psychological. I wish to study others further, but to open the skull and excise the brain I will require more effective implements, and a less... dirty setting. And certainly, more gloves. Perhaps several could be transported to Skinsaver's clinic? This whole exercise has become much more interesting than I had anticipated. First of course, my work here must be completed. Captain- if you would?" The Captain nodded, and lead them through the rows of plants to then next restrained monster.

yeah, there are a few dozen ghouls, so at least an hour or two. More if they take their time interrogating, despite the lack of response they will get. Atrophy will want to dissect one as well. Not too surgically- he is neither a doctor nor a scientist- but slicing open its gut and having a poke around would be enough to satisfy his curiosity. He will also want to see how easy or hard they are to kill and such. So Atrophy at least would probably be occupied for three hours or so. Yeah, and then Atrophy can return home and at some point meet Argon. Very eventful day Atrophy is having

I think Atrophy and Cornucopia would make the most adorbs couple. A matching pair of awkward, anti-social introverts I ship Atrophopia/Cornucophy <3

"Unless you want the offending limb to be removed from the rest of your body, I'd suggest you avoid cutting any of my plants." Her smile never wavered- what an impressive woman! Atrophy thought to himself. "I need to oversee their treatment in any event, but I'm sure you won't object to an hour of my company." Atrophy smiled back. He would object to any amount of time with anyone, but that was a thought best kept to himself. "You may escort me now, Mr. Atrophy." "Excellent, let us be off." He bowed, and walked off, leaving her arm hanging. She followed soon afterwards, a soldier at her arm. Atrophy gestured to the captain and several nearby officers, "Lead us to the nearest creature. I am quite thrilled to discover the nature of these things." Although his tone of voice betrayed little emotion or excitement. The officers obeyed, and the captain replied, "Well sir, they appear to be-" Atrophy weakened his tongue, and the officer sputtered in surprise as his words died on his lips. "Don't.... don't spoil the surprise, you rube. Lead us in silence." The captain solemnly nodded, his mouth clamped shut. The captain lead the pair of Epics through the field, many of the plants damaged and ruffled, several bodies scattered around. Many were in body bags and in the process of being taken away, but others had not been attended to yet. They bore terrible wounds, as if they had been clawed and mauled by some ferocious beast. Or beasts. Atrophy 'hmmmed' in interest. A few minutes later, they reached the first creature. One officer pulled back a plant, and Atrophy stepped through the gap to behold the object of his conscription. Thick vines sprouted out of the ground and held it still, pinning its arms and legs together like an asylum resident in a straight jacket. It looked human, in shape at least. But its face, and its eyes..... The man, if it was still a man, twisted in his restraints. Its head whipped back and forth, snarling in rage and hatred, wild eyes glaring at everyone around it as it tried to free itself. His black hair was matted with blood, and his face was covered in scratches, bruises, and more blood. Particularly his mouth. Atrophy smiled. "I can see why my assistance was required. You chose the right Epic." With that, he raised both his hands, and reached out with his power. He weakened its arms, hands, legs, and neck. And then its mouth- especially its hungry, blood-stained mouth. Its muscles failing, the creature slumped. But its eyes were as alert and as hateful as ever.

yeah, what a.... Stupid name.... *shifty-eyes**crosses out bio for new super-cool Epic* especially since there are only three of them
