  1. Ok well you could probably just do a post with Evan helping coordinate the search for Quicksilver? He was a manager yeah? And Sunspot might have just woken up. Maybe contact whoever owns Frequency and his cultists to work out what they are all doing today? Edit: Just read the latest Wastelands post. Man, Worldbringer must have a super useful power for Ivystorm and the othersto humour his delusions like that
  2. I like the fight but one writing suggestion- you don't need to be so specific with numbers and quantities. For example, don't say "he shot out 10 cubic meters of steam", just say "he shot out a column of steam". We don't really know how much 10 cubic meters is, and trying to work out just distracts us from enjoying the narrative. A little vagueness is fine, imagination can fill out the details
  3. Lady Deathskull chuckled sensibly while the vanillas and Epics around her laughed uproariously at the humiliation being wrought against the weak fire Epic in the arena. "Ha ha ha! Poor little Epic!" Her mirth was only lightly dampened by the knowledge that Showstopper- who earlier had humiliated her by trapping her in her own armour- was the author of this brutal spectacle. She was not one for begrudging the work of a skilled fellow Epic just because she was eventually going to pay as soon as she discovered a way to engineer a suitable comeuppance. An arena fight, unfortunately, would not do, given her power. Lady Deathskull enjoyed the macabre show until it ended, applauding along with many in the crowd to see the fire Epic put out of his misery. "Bravo!" Some called. "Encore!" The fights were over though, for now. In a slow fade, the crowd was returned to the world of the material, and Lady Deathskull flew from her seat, and into the skies of Salem. She noted the frequent identical posters around the city, and flew to the ground to inspect one. It depicted a beautiful woman, in shining light, gazing outwards . "Hmmm.... these must have some purpose." Deathskull muttered to herself. She turned and flew towards a nearby human, startling him as she approached. "Excuse me human, but what purpose do those posters serve? I do not recognise that woman." The man gulped. "Uh, um, well, that is Sentry, m'lady." Deathskull tilted her dead. "Sentry?" "Um, yes, Sentry. She is an Epic who can see through the posters. She keeps a watch over the entire city, uh..." His eyes flickered to a nearby poster, Sentry's eyes judging him. "To, uh, keep us all safe, and maintain the order of Salem." "Hmmm.... fascinating. Thank you for your help. Here, have your very own death skull." With that, she fashioned some of her metal into a stylised miniature skull, identical to her own helmet, and handed it to him. "The idea struck me as I was watching the fights. A memento so that my legacy can continue even when I leave this city! My talent and skill in the arena shall go down in Salem history, I am sure." "But didn't you lose both fights?" Her gaze could have been fatal. Through gritted teeth, she spat, "No, human, I won the first, and only lost the second by a hairs breadth! Idiot Inhuman." Ignoring the human, she flew off, returning to her room.
  4. Those sound cool!
  5. Roger Lyons shook visibly as he slowly made his way down the street, feeling the power of that insane Epic twitching within him, like a beast eager to be released. It was monstrous. He had been taught how to use it, forced to turn Lionel into some ravening beast, after watching Vanessa experience the same fate. What sort of power was this, to turn humans into beasts? "A power an evil Epic expects me to use.." Roger thought to himself, wiping sweat from his pale face. "Can I really do this?" But whenever he had doubts, he simply thought back to that Epic, its pointed teeth, its cruel grin, and the way its eyes shone with glee as it promised agony and pain should he shirk his orders. Once his thoughts returned there, he knew that he would never, could never disobey. After some time, he finally reached an apartment complex, fellow servants crowding the entrance as they went about their business. "I..." He whispered, raising his hands, and grabbing an elderly woman, who looked at him in confusion. "I am sorry...." In seconds, just as before, the old woman lost her humanity. She roared, and tackled another man beside her. Reaching down, Roger grabbed the man's flailling hand, and turned him as well. "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry!" People had begun noticing, turning to see an old woman and a young man rising from the ground, anger in their eyes. Then the screaming started.
  6. Fair enough. I imagine there would be lots of abandoned towns and settlements. Either people dying out, or moving to the better cities like Corvallis, Salem or Astoria. Probably smaller towns ruled by single lesser Epics. Scavenging groups and families of vanillas, moving about, trying to avoid Epics and other humans, trying to survive.
  7. Well in Newcago, it implied that the whole population moved inwards into the city centre, and that the Great Transfersion only affected the central part of the city as opposed to the suburbs (David mentions at one point that Steelheart had scavenging teams scour the suburbs for non-steel clothes). In Portland though, I'm not sure what reason there would be for people to move inwards. Probably more a reason to move outwards to escape the Epic fights. And if we are referring to the areas between the cities as wasteland, we need to ask ourselves, how did it become a wasteland? Did Epics literally blow up every bit of wilderness in between cities? Although deforestation in the areas around Portland and non-electrified cities makes sense because of the need for firewood, though.
  8. Hey shattered, what characters do you currently have?
  9. We have the timeline as Calamity appearing in 2014, Epics appearing in 2015, and the Annexation (followed quickly by societal collapse) on September 24th 2015, I think.
  10. Quickdra or Vondsilver ftw
  11. Make Way For the Old Villain Who Feels Ignored
  12. Love that trope. Is Quicksilver really a new villain though, he was around longer than the pandas, who only showed up yesterday
  13. Lady Deathskull would be delighted to receive a cordial invitation to a ball or gala. A less formal affair, though? Well she'd go but she'd complain the whole time
  14. Mysterious locker is mysterious Voidus Doesn't bother me much, I just figure that no matter what she does, he knows about her now and will want her. Streetwise seeing her or not is just icing on the cake, but isn't necessary to the kidnapping attempt. Mashadar Okie dokie. He is very in demand at the moment, but I'm sure he can fit an attempt on her life into his busy schedule We can discuss it further via PM, i think.
  15. Ok, so he knows about her and will certainly want to recruit her into his domain. I think the first thing he will do when Streetwise shows up at the meeting will be to order him to track down Neverthere. Does that work for everyone?
  16. That plan doesn't involve me much anyway, so I'll just chill until Neverthere gives Corpsemaker a reason to have her hunted down. Is he aware of her at all, so far?
  17. excellent! I was hoping that Jo had left behind those plans thanks mailliw, please do
  18. First Corpsemaker post up! Big things are going to be happening at the Dominion, Corpsey is putting his plan into action! Also, how will this Neverthere thing work? She'll reveal herself, Corpsemaker will get annoyed, order Streetwise to find her, and then send Timeport and/or Electro to capture her?
  19. Corpsemaker looked over the map of Portland. Detailed plans were scrawled in pen all over it, lines, arrows, and crosses signifying troops movements and objectives littered the city. Small markers and pins represented all known locations and Epic or conventional military strength. It was time to begin phase one of his plan- staking his claim. This city was his- and it was time to make sure that everyone in Portland, Epic or otherwise, knew it. "Bring my Epics and my human generals to me." Several toy soldiers saluted, expressions blank, and they hurried off to obey. Corpsemaker returned to his map, glancing at pages of planning that surrounded it. It was like a giant chessboard, this city, or the map of a strategy game. Risk, perhaps. His toys were armed and ready, and his Epics had all been tested and hardened in the fires of battle. As far as he knew, only Thoughttown had any sizeable military, and they were mere humans- he could have Toymaker churn out never-ending streams of soldiers and robots. Victory was assured, once the populace and the other factions accepted his Dominion. Corpsemaker waited patiently for his allies to attend him.
  20. Actually Steelheart and his two bodyguards did have parades- the book mentions them flying around in formation, although they always pretended that they were actually on business.
  21. Would you plan on having Bird be a resident of the city already, or a new arrival? Some Epics were let in just now in game-time so a new arrival works in that sense.
  22. 7*365*7/365 Expert mathsing Voidus! haha I kid, I kid
  23. Haha they'd have arrived about 7 years after the events we shall soon be RPing, unfortunately
  24. I'm concerned about the number of Epic deaths you have given him as well- 86 is a LOT of Epics, considering how rare they are, unless he has been travelling across North America or broader. If he is a human using a lot of epic tech, then unfortunately that doesn't work either I'm afraid. Only one Epic tech piece can be used at any one time, but he can always have a stash of several that he can swap out at need.
  25. Well she could ally with/be attacked by Iconoclast, if you like.
