  1. From your posts, I think that you're actually a pretty pleasant person to be with, Chouta. I mean, a more than 3 to one rep to post is incredibly impressive. I'm also pretty ostracized by my peers, being the weird nerd who reads a lot, but I don't really mind it that much, because I have relatable friends. And if it's your friends who are being mean, sorry to say it, but maybe you should reconsider them. There are plenty of really nice people out there. You shouldn't have to tailor yourself to others. I don't really care about how I'm seen, because I'm proud to be myself, and that's really all that matters to me.  :)

  2. I've noticed a lot of spam lately. What if you increased the questions for the entrance thing a bit, and asked questions that only true Sanderfans would know? You could have a "select which Sanderson books you've read" tab, and have questions from there. It's just an idea.

  3. I thought this would be a theory about whether babies can become epics. This is slightly better.

    Slightly.

Actually, you bring up an interesting point. I think that babies could become Epics, unless Calamity didn't choose them because they "weren't worthy" of such great power. However, I'm feeling some deja vu with Elantris, here, where (minor minor spoiler)

People of all ages were taken by the Shaod (though how children could be dedicated to something, I don't know. Dedicated to peek a boo? ;)

  4. So...Hi.

Anyway, I was wondering what calamity was. It's not a shard because it's not part of the Cosmere, so is it just the first Epic, (who is a super-powerful Gifter) or something different?

In Firefight, Tia is revealed to be a rocket scientist at NASA, (Prof and his friends take a field trip there)

After, Prof and his two friends are revealed to be Epics.

This raises two questions. One, is this a coincidence? Two, if it's not, why isn't Tia an Epic? Or is she?

Anyway, I think that NASA is connected to it somehow. Did they create Calamity? Find it in space? Open a wormhole?

(Question 3: Is Calamity Darth Vader?) :)

Hey, welcome to the 17th Shard! I'm guessing that you're favorite Sanderson series is the Reckoners? You should check out our theories and RP's over there! And in answer to your question, I support the theory that Calamity is a stick.  :P  ;)

  5. Both. She's raising two young children, so it's understandable that she should put her family first. I hate being so selfish, but life's taken so many things that I value in the past few months that I'm not just going to let go. She is the most amazing person ever, and I know I will never meet someone like her again.  :( -This emoticon is not even a millionth representative of my sadness.

  6. I'm so sorry. :( How far away is she moving? Will you be able to see her on occasion?

She's actually not moving far, but we'll probably never see her. And what hurts is that she's being so nice. My friend and I have used every trick in the book to make her stay-emails, persuasive letters, begging, bribing, ..etc. We even nominated her for Colorado Educator of the Year, where she could get $25000! But she's still leaving. And what I hate is that she's being really nice, which makes it hurt more. And I can see that it was a hard decision for her too. I made her cry because I was making a motivational persuasive argument, which made me feel really bad for making it harder for her. :(

  7. Read the Reckoners books, then take a right past My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, walk through the field of pugs, and give a wave to Shia LaBeouf as you traipse over the Washington/Oregon state line. :P

    What happened?

My favorite teacher is the most amazing person on this planet, and she is extremely dedicated to her students. She always gives up her weekends to help you if you're struggling. She often pushes us outside of our comfort zones because she actually wants to see us succeed, because she genuinely cares about us, and wants to see us succeed. But she's also always open to talk about social and emotional problems, and she actually cares, and connects with us an individuals. And I just found out that she's moving schools. *Note that I had her this year, and was going to have her next year also. She broke the news to us yesterday, where I cried 9 times in total. Yesterday was my day for grieving, and now I'm just angry. I'm losing the only person who really actually cares about me.

  8. That game is so hard to play.  Especially since my family does not really get along, so teamwork is nearly void. -_-

Also, I don't quite understand how people manage to get more reputation points than they have posts.  I have posted more than a hundred things and I still only have 21 points.  Like I said, I don't know how they do it.  I am not the inspirational type.

Yeah, sometimes people get more than one upvote per post. No offense to anyone, this is simply an observation, but I've recently noticed that people who make witty or funny comments often get more upvotes than people who truly have good ideas or truly contribute to discussions. Don't take me wrong, I thing Kobold and the other jokers are awesome people, but sometimes the rep system isn't really to best measure of an individual.

  9. Hugs. Um. Okay.

    *scoots away*

I've only met one other person with my name. I've met another person who has my name, but misspelled. Everyone misspells it though, and you can't say my version's wrong, because it's in the Bible!

It's Esther. It means star. Some people call me Ess. A few called me Bobby for a while, but that's a weird story I'm still not quite sure of the details on.

My best friend was called Esther! We called her Esty Pesty  ;)
