  1. @Philomath And the way they did the reveal, I'm pretty happy that I was wrong!
  2. Well! There's a post credit scene in this one. Also:
  3. I am going to read the novels of James Joyce starting with the Dubliners! Now, I know what you're thinking: "Is Dubliners really a novel? " and look, I'm sick of your sass! Not everything has to be neatly categorized in some half-baked TV Tropes-ish set of shipping containers! Just let people live! Why won't you let them LIVE?!
  4. I am under the impression that they will both have bigger roles in the second five book sequence... which...yay? I guess? So a bit of a ways off, perhaps... since we got one Stormlight book, two Elantris sequels and a Mistborn trilogy AT LEAST before we get there!
  5. That could be referencing the brief moment she had NB in Warbreaker... Or something in Warbreaker's unwritten sequel! *le gasp!*
  6. I feel people are conflating a couple things here. Just because Endowment does not want to help Hoid does not necessarily mean she does not want to be involved in broader Cosmere matters. It just means that she hates Hoid and does not want to support his cause. Whatever that might be. As far as what she wants to do? It's hard to say. She likes and supports the original agreement the Vessels made when they took up the pieces of the Shards and does not care if some of the Vessels that violated (seemingly) that agreement get killed. So, she might want Odium to leave the Roshar system... but wouldn't want him gunning her down. Her ponderances on future possibilities may have led her to believe that Awakening the Five Scholars would be the best way of fulfilling the agreement of One World, One Shard (trademark pending) by getting Honor killed and somehow changing Odium's drive and purpose. Of course, all the above is based on very limited information. And with an infinite mind, time and expanded consciousness, what seems like a rational, conservative decision to a Shard would appear highly risky to a reader of fantasy novels
  7. You know I am! Good thing I picked up these scented candles...
  8. May all your White Castle cravings be assuaged this Valentine's Day! And if you have no White Castle cravings, then there is no love in your soul
  9. I must of missed that.
  10. I think that's the best timeline we can hope to have right now. I imagine Vasher would be of MASSIVE interest to Kelsier, as he is also essentially a cognitive shadow and wants to be able to world-hop. I could see Vasher deciding that a worldhopping Kelsier was far more dangerous than giving Nightblood to a crazy Herald obsessed with justice. Relinquishing Nightblood could be part of his strategy to hide from the Ghostbloods.
  11. Apparently, he was "doing other stuff" during the siege of Urithiru, but Brandon decided not to include what for authorial reasons. I was under the impression that he had been to Roshar before, which was part inspiration to create Nightblood. Though whatever he is up to now, it does not seem to have anything to do with retrieving Nightblood.
  12. I don't think you'll get anything better than Nick Fury's "we're scared and need to arm up" justification in Avengers. I don't think he'll be the "main" villain, if he's a villain. But he is hiding "something" and I don't expect much more development of him.
  13. People asking you to be their Valentine is the worst! It's like, dooooo you know what boundaries are, people?!
  14. My current working theory? It's how she maintains control while living her perfect life. Or it's some other force. I liked this episode because I think it really acts as evidence against a lot of the popular theories on the interwebs. Anyway, I think with that episode we've seen almost all the scenes that have been featured in the trailers!
  15. When will they ever learn? When will they ever learn!
  16. I am binge re-watching Star Vs the Forces of Evil. I haven't really revisited it since I watched it during its original run, but so far it's holding up very well to marathon watching. I went ahead and stopped since that's a good spot to stop and go to bed.
  17. Hoo-ray for more good episodes! The beginning kinda irked me for preference reasons (saccharine cutesy kids crem dung needs to be rationed out wisely, imo, and the beginning was just concentrated... THAT. In the long run, I do think it was the right choice to get the episide where it was at and it's nice to know we probably won't see THAT for the rest of the series, but I digress). Edit to add new "theory"
  18. Agreed. Also, to me, Moash went into irredeemable territory when he killed Teft's spren (and probably would have killed Syl if given the opportunity). That's Judge Doom killing an innocent cartoon shoe levels of malevolence right there.
  19. Well, if you are only going to say "why?" instead of ask it, you'll never get answers!
  20. Here's a thought: What if a Shard is able to more easily leave a world if all or most of its investure into the planet is corrupted? So, picture that Regular Investing into a Planet (trademark pending) yields what are essentially chains to a planet, whereas Corrupted Investure into a Planet (all rights reserved) yields rusty, brittler chains? It's still probably difficult to break that connection, but might be far easier to do so. This would explain why a bunch of "Odium's Investure" is red instead of gold. That might also be connected to why it appeared as if his vessel was unstable and having trouble choosing containing the shard's power in his last meeting with Dalinar.
  21. I feel I'm going to make a bad choice and try that pink candy mac n cheese if I can get a hold of it. .... And add anchovies
  22. That's probably best. There are a lot of bad actors in the Star Wars fandom now that are spamming the internet with bad "reviews". I'm sure not everyone likes it, but the amount of vitriol from the anti-Kennedy crowd makes it difficult to distinguish sincere reviews from malcontents. For what it's worth, I enjoyed Light of the Jedi and will get Claudia Gray's book that releases this week. If you get into the comics, it's best to start The High Republic comic after Light of the Jedi. I get the feeling this is a transitional story between Light of the Jedi and The Rising Storm (which comes out this June). I don't know where the High Republic Adventures fit in to all of this.
  23. Of course, there is a higher rate of disappointment with the waits Aggregate ratings for series books after the first one tend to decrease with each passing book. At least right after release. Give the book time and new readers that did not need to wait and that rating will rise... provided the book isn't actual garbage! Just my observations with other series.
  24. Not enough Kaladin chasing nodes!
