  1. (manga/Brotherhood) Pride: Yo dawg I heard you like shadows, so I put shadows in my atium shadows so you can see shadows while you see shadows.
  2. It's a poorly indicated joke. We aren't even playing 20 questions in the first place.
  3. You just spent 11 questions in one post. >_> You just made 20 Questions tougher.
  4. Nightblood can't form nahel bonds proper. You'll take this highspren and you will like it or so help me!
  5. Inquisitors seem like the epitome of that. The ultimate construct combining all metallic arts, born from the power of destruction itself and in order to destroy. Harmony knows how unstable and destructive they can be
  6. Shattered metalminds still function proportionately, IIRC. And we're yet again depriving them of their method of sustaining their powers.
  7. Well, that will fall under depriving them of enough resources to sustain their healing. Which is probably a problem of investiture inherent to thermodynamics if nothing else. There is always spent power not easily brought back.
  8. I'm fairly sure it is logically possible for Miles to regenerate from the effects of oxygen deprivation, and surgebinders evidently don't even need to breathe, period. In the end, it still involves removing their ability to heal, removing what powers the healing, or utterly annihilating their entire existence.
  9. HoA: Never, ever, wear piercings. Elantris: Immortality draws a fine line between zombies and godhood.
  10. So we all have prophetic vision powers? We're so getting persecuted in Vorin countries.
  11. Well, lashing redirects portions of the gravitational pull on your mass in different directions. 100% down is just natural gravity. So if you lash upwards the same amount you float like you would if you start uninvested and lash 50% up.
  12. The afterlife does exist, and by HoA Sazed is known to not know how to do anything to the afterlife yet. It seemed at the time that he intends to figure it out at some point. On the other hand if you spike them before death they now have a chunk of their soul gone for good, so. . . yeah.
  13. It's not really an easter egg when most of it is actually important to the overarching plot.
  14. If we spike everything out of one person, reforge all the spikes into different portions of a sword, then awaken it with 1000 breaths? What now? Maybe engrave it with Aons for added hilarity and to make it able to generate fireballs on Sel. If only we had a way to stop decay while melting it down.
  15. Harmony forbid Marsh having obtained his friend's diary/autobiography after spending 300 years by himself in order to give it to someone, right?
  16. As in both of them were pretty beat up by the end of it all. It's probably a lot easier to land properly when you jump off on purpose and fully expect to intentionally break your legs.

    Hemalurgic Spikes

The reason most impale both the donor and the recipient with the spike simultaneously is so the spike spends minimal time not buried in someone. Minimizes decay compared to pulling it out, walking over to another guy, and stabbing them. A few minutes out after stealing the trait and it's essentially uselessly weak. The heart is a pretty common bind point for Ruin-Marsh's purposes from what I can tell (must bind for a lot of things for the theft process I guess), but it inherently has little to no known connection to the process itself. At least no more than the few dozen/hundred other bind points out there.
  18. Though frankly chances are Kaladin would've fractured some bones and be fine in seconds. When he fell off with Shallan neither seemed all that comfortable.
  19. Now that I think about it, I recall Odium once being referenced as the Broken One, while Nightblood is described as a "broken" shardblade. They both seem to release or emit black investiture, if the black sphere is what we think it is. Only other source of black investiture I recall is Ruin. Something is really strange about the name Broken One, tbh. If anything he is known for breaking things.
  20. Since blades pass right through things, using it for something like an arrow would be impractical as well, due to low cutting area. Using it as a bow, on the other hand, defeats the whole point of a shardblade.
  21. He already had a decent amount though.Wait, a gemheart should be way cheaper to awaken if reshaped a bit relative to a normal gem right? Might not be relevant, just curious.
  22. Makes me wonder. Was this perceived inferiority to ancient soulcasters partially due to tales of ancient soulcasting mostly using Radiants as the subject matter as well as fabrial soulcasters? I'd imagine a Radiant can do more spectacular things than a machine can.

    Ruin's voice

I'm fairly sure, as a fellow human, he can still comprehend to some extent even if he can't really feel it anymore. After all, he's been playing humankind for fools for thousands of years now. It takes a certain level of understanding for human reactions and thoughts to do that. And love can be fairly destructive.
  24. You can really focus on doing something without noticing anything else though. Want to win staring contest? Feruchemy! Though now that we bring it up peripheral vision isn't really as accurate as the bit right in front of you. Maybe feruchemical tin-o-vision only looks fuzzy on the sides because the center is just that clear? Plus Sazed isn't really a warrior (as repeated so much that you gotta wonder how people miss the obvious implications) and lacks that survival-paranoia that might make him pay attention more instead of going all tunnel vision when zooming.
  25. Okay, guess I was misremembering it for a different cage. As mentioned though, the visual and auditory shielding definitely isn't something that just happens.
