Just use chromium? I don't see why you won't see a pulse, since the metal isn't giving it off, but the person. It burns out so quickly though, since it erases itself, better be paying close attention.
-
Actually, since unlike Nightblood this thing used to be alive (metal or no) it might just end up a "normal" lifeless koloss instead of the all-consuming artificial "spren" that is Nightblood. It might not need enough breath to attain sapience.
-
Well, as long as you're on the right planet technically a small percentage of the shard is always there . . . they might not be watching though.
-
Elohkar has one himself, IIRC, and then has Gavilar's blade out for training rental. That's two more for Kholin.
-
Hemalurgy can also transfer shardblade bonds, IIRC, if one so desires. It will probably work on other splinters too.
-
Well, Rao is "spirit", I believe. And souls are investiture. So it's possible that it is the Dor-manipulation command.
-
I'm fairly sure you don't permanently lose powers from storing them. After all, nicrosilminds are exhaustable.

It'd depend on how the trick that let's nicrosilminds function for non-soulbearers I guess. It may only work on humans, it may be universal. We need more info Sovereign.

Yeah, Stormfather was explicitly trying to kill everyone. He crashed it over the Plains on purpose, the jerk. Then again he apparently survived the Recreance. Perhaps he's not mentally stable. Seems fine now that Dalinar has gotten him to shut up and bond, though.

It's mostly because we haven't left Elendel proper for so long (until BoM anyway). There's the odd mention of invasions by koloss warlords all the time in the books, presumably it happens once in a while. I guess they live out in the Roughs for the most part. The koloss-blooded aside, true koloss do not need much dedicated sustenance.

And I do believe it's entirely possible that they did not know their full limits even at the height of their power. Aons are a discovered script, not a manufactured one. There may be more. They seem almost omnipotent really.
-
Well, Elohkar has his own blade, and duel wielding isn't possible without developing your own style outside of the ten stances. Even if he did bond it he may never summon the thing.

Is it possible to, say, spike away a portion of the soul that can potentially contain a certain spikeable trait, but doesn't currently have it? For example, if you try to steal pewter feruchemy from someone who isn't a pewter ferring, does it simply fail, or would the spike contain a piece of useless soul that came from where the feruchemical sDNA would be in an actual pewter ferring? Or is there actually nothing there in non-feruchemists? If a shardblade bond is stolen (IIRC it can be) but the bond later severed manually, what happens to the spike?

They are, if nothing else, seemingly of the opinion that the amount of stormlight Jezrien's blade is consuming is not a good thing. On different issues Syl never really regards it in any sort of reverent light. On a different Nightblood-related note, the thing actually consumes your soul if you aren't invested, so the spren may actually get eaten if Szeth doesn't have a plan, or slips up.
-
You can even maintain two nahel bonds if the spren can be bothered and you can juggle the oaths, IIRC. Storming difficult but you can. But if spren are uneasy about the honorblades in the hands of mortals would they not fear the living singularity that is Nightblood even more? Honorblades may be dangerous for society to posses, but at least they aren't some sort of black hole for souls.
-
But would not conserving ammunition against enemies on the individual level not allow you to more effectively slaughter more people and thus "overkill" (there's no verb for this storm it) the army as a whole more easily? Shinovar sounds like a relatively nice place.
-
Well this IS the Bands of Mourning section.
-
We don't even know what it does though.
-
Well, actually I'm pretty sure it'd be hard to blend in amongst Scadrians as a parshendi . . . the rest are a thing though.
-
One other thing: IIRC, spren simply don't seem to manifest in Shinovar. Then once he left, they were probably actively avoiding the honorblade. Syl already finds it dangerous. Also, assassination is probably illegal in the countries he actually killed people in.

Well, like I said with the fire. That's definitely not going to be stopped. But that's fire. It's not like all external heat sources involve burning. The heat itself won't kill you right?
-
But would the heat even be able to harm anything if it at no point makes your body exceed its functioning temperature range?
-
Well, you CAN technically cool yourself to near-lethal extents and survive with the external heat that should be killing you. I guess? The chemical combustion of actual fire can't really be stopped though of course.

Well, it happened strangely, but his wish for a Terris Hero came true, and it's all his fault, so he should be happy about this I guess . . .Having worshippers is always important really. Preferably ones weaker than you. I'm sure he feels some attachment to the kandra, but he surely laments how much feruchemical purity in the Terris people was lost by his actions. One large step closer to being . . . normal as a population. Especially since dormant mistings turn out to have been among the other races this entire time, just too weak to give rise to obvious powers to a feruchemist's extent. In "creating" the Mistborn he trampled on the unique superiority further.
