  1. I actually vaguely remember a WoB that Hoid likes bacon. Not sure though . .
  2. That thought has crossed my mind before. If so, though, it would probably cease function beyond the planet and that would be no fun. Metal glowing is more of a local thing.
  3. Likely the mutations may also not be as pronounced, or even be different in nature as far as minor details are concerned, if you used less spikes.
  4. Well technically the Well was in the basement, but yeah it's relatively lower than it used to be.
  5. To be honest, I don't recall a single southerner ever confirming the Sovereign as Rashek. Wax assumed, and Allik likely wouldn't even know enough of Empire history to know exactly who Wax was referring to by the name Lord Ruler. He confirmed only that the Sovereign was the north's king, and god, and that they killed him. The king thing is odd, but the other two are true.
  6. Actually, when I think about it, would eternally being awake have adverse effects on memory retention?
  7. I was under the impression that the "cosmere" as the name refers to is a single galaxy, and we have no clue how anything works beyond that . . . And yeah, you simply have to act on the bubble.
  8. I don't see how using a different pool would help. All magic on Sel is powered by the Dor, wouldn't it rage all across the planet in the cognitive realm, both Perpendicularities included?
  9. Indeed. The rampant vaporizing is hard to overlook.
  10. Well clearly shaaaallan cares. Chances are he isn't the only one. There's plenty of threads that are pointless to several people on this forum, I don't see your point?
  11. The closest one to being unaffected that comes to mind would probably be Odium, but that's apparently more just his personality not being much different (if at all) after being overwhelmed due to being a pretty hateful guy in the first place.
  12. The exploding could easily just be mundane coincidence, as that could definitely occur under entirely chemical principles. That would eliminate atium and lerasium alloys though, as those don't turn you into a shower of giblets or even detonate in normal air. It apparently radiates power though, which interests me.
  13. On the koloss shardblade thing, the spikes contain strength. The body itself has a perfectly human soul stuck to it, and spikes simply don't contain more than they are supposed to.it should almost definitely work. They're still living creatures not using magic actively (besides the magic that created them and holds them together) so they ought to die like one.
  14. With Invocation not having stuck around, having control over his sanity should be literally effortless, so I'm not sure why you mentioned it at all.
  15. Um, allomancy is just the powers themselves. What you call the people that can use the powers is completely irrelevant. You can be utilizing one of the two ways to burn, say, steel without being a misting or a mistborn and you'ld still be using steel allomancy. That's like asking whether "soulcasting" refers to Elsecallers, Lightweavers, or people with soulcasting fabrials.
  16. It's amusing how the Heralds have been exalted as deities and heroes in their own right in modern Rosharan religion, when their very name almost certainly implies that they herald the end of the world with their arrival.
  17. Except with awakening the color itself is completely unimportant as long as it exists, while the form of metal matters in directing the power. It depends on how you classify it I guess.

    Ettmetal uses

Well the propulsion systems are steel powered, as the primer cube was primed with Wax's allomancy at the time. As for Iron, it is possible that the ship we see, being a smaller craft, might not require weight reduction. The bigger ship does apparently have this function though, according to the Set, and probably requires an iron feruchemist to start. Easy to come by as iron feruchemy medallions are plentiful on board. A different sort of primer may be needed for feruchemy though, since the primer we see provided no reaction to Wax's feruchemy despite Wax being known to habitually store weight during all of his waking hours. I can only assume that there is generally supposed to be a coinshot medallion on board these things somewhere to start the "engines".
  19. Well, when you think about it, the metal is often not the investiture source itself, but just the substance that shapes the investiture into its specific forms, similar to the commands in awakening and the geographic shapes involved in every magic on Sel ever. Ignoring god metals, of course. The form of raw power on Scadrial generally manifests as mist. The Mists themselves being the obvious example, and Ruin appears to create black smoke while trapped in the Well. Power seems to leak out of people carrying vast amounts of investiture as mist as well. Now the most obvious form of investiture in awakening is the breath itself, but that stuff always seems to just sit in the object, at most draining imperceptibly slowly if it does at all. Yet there is always the net color loss. The reason behind that has yet to be explained, though another similar cause of color loss happens to be spiritweb severing inflicted by shardblade. There may be something to it, perhaps? So we're left with Roshar being the strangest case we've seen. Then again, almost everything about Roshar is exceptionally peculiar. Bears the touch and design of Adonalsium, it is said . . .
  20. That's the sliver definition. Splinters are always described as a non-human entity made of investiture, namely the divine breath itself in this case, and not the Returned. Of course, splinters are also sentient, but I feel we'll figure that out as we learn more about Returned mechanics.
  21. There's seven right now as Szeth hasn't been in Shinovar for years. He was present when the number was stated, might have stated it himself. Will have to check. Taln's was never there, obviously. By WOB another herald had reclaimed one.
  22. What would change in matter in this case though? Burnt atium is used directly as an investiture source in place of the usual connection. It is likely that lerasium does the same, and that investiture is what forms the drastically strengthened connection to Preservation.
  23. Which raises the question, how does gold feruchemy interact with extreme cases of muscular atrophy?
  24. . . . oh. Oh.. Now I get what's so painful here.
  25. Apparently, he and Denth possessed some sort of technique, involving a lot of mental gymnastics, that allowed them to thoroughly view themselves as non-gods, and suppressing the divine breath completely without killing them. And a different one that allows you to withhold breath from being transferred in bulk by the normal command. Basically just take everything Denth told us about awakening with a grain of salt, he is one hell of a liar.
