  1. Although, I have a friend who's a twelve hater (though too be fair, he does distinguish - "it's not Capaldi - it's the scripts written for him" - true enough for some episodes in Series 8), and he enjoyed the episode, but it hasn't done a lot so far as I can see to improve his mood for 12 as a whole. And for the record, aforementioned 12-hater said that he read that Maisie Williams would be returning in Episode 10, Face the Raven. After research, I can confirm this to be true.
  2. I have tried reading German books before (German is my second language). All I can say is... I find it difficult enough reading the book even when it's written correctly, let alone when it's written incorrectly, so I strongly sympathize. @Thunder93: What do they do instead? I might read it myself (try German for a change - I've read it 3 times in English), and I'm curious what they did. How did Vin defeat the Lord Ruler in that version?
  3. Hmmm... Randomly tapping into this, what seems to be the general consensus is: 10 + Rose Scadrial Not in the Trilogy or AoL eras, not after the AoL era. (This leaves before tFE or between HoA and AoL) P.S. If you have enough/ too many people already, then I won't join. Otherwise, I have a sort of vaguely less busy patch until the end of January if somethings going to happen.
  4. Technically, it's not confirmed. But let's face it. This is Brandon we're talking about here... It will probably be 3 books. And that is completely fine by me. EDIT: He usually mentions what his general plan is at signings. If any of you know something I don't, can you please post it up here so I can update this?
  5. Oh... Wow. It's very... unique. A sort of crossover... everything. Now all you need is for a man with a blue box and a fascination for bow ties to take Shallan home again.
  6. Oh yeah, my name is The Young Bard over there (like here, but with spaces), falling in with the Sydney, Australia group.
  7. Sorry for the double post, but I felt like the actual start of the world should go in a separate thread: Just a note: I know this leaves a lot of room for interpretation. But clarifying too much with text sort of defeats the point, so try and rely on future posters to fill in the blanks. This will obviously leave us with a lot of unfinished arcs, but never mind them.
  8. I'm not sure whether this should go in the Creator's Corner or Role-Playing, as I haven't got firmly established rules yet, but I'll just roll with it anyway. Basically, this is like a regular RP, with one twist. The entire thing is being told in memes. They can be whatever memes you like, even *shudder* MLP memes, and I really have no idea what else to say. I'm not going to bog this down with rules, as I don't want to destroy the spirit of the project. So, I'll start with 3 base rules, and I can add more if necessary. The 3 Laws of The Young Bard (a.k.a. The Rules): Now to the fun part. The worldbuilding and actual in-world goodies. Here's everything I've planned out so far. Absolutely nothing. Is that all clear? Let's go! Other paraphernalia:
  9. I just binge read the entire thing! This is amazing!
  10. King of Swamp Castle - is it Men in Tights? Anyway, I'm a week in, and only 3000 words behind, which is pretty good - for me. EDIT: I was wrong. I was actually thinking it would be either Men in Tights or what it was, and I chose Men in Tights. Oh well.
  11. The Shardblade might be based on the name of the book... you never know .
  12. The Highway is open to all, unless they attempt to determine any kind of lighting or brightness while on the Highway.
  13. When you have that moment where you make an awesome joke that absolutely no-one (in a room of about a dozen people) recognizes. When the 4 librarians at your local library (including the backup librarian who comes in when the usual librarian is sick) all remember your name and reading preferences.
  14. There's more information about it here, if you like. You can theoretically join if you like, but it will be even trickier for you, starting late.
  15. I didn't attend those last year, and failed miserably, but I just attended my first one today. (it's the end of the 3rd for me, thanks to time zones, and I'm already 1000 words behind. Mind you, 1000 words, for NaNo, is a pretty good score to be behind, compared to last year...)
  16. NaNoWriMo is here. Never have I been so filled with enthusiasm and dread at the same time.

  17. Ahhh... Who needs cheesecake when you have ice-cream?
  18. "The time has come", the walrus said, "to talk of many things: Of shoes - and ships - and sealing wax - Of cabbages and kings - Of why the sea is boiling hot - And whether pigs have wings." Come one, come all, to discuss your NaNo novels here! Tell us about your successes, and your failures, of your trials and tribulations. Join in that grand adventure, to seek the elusive 50,000!
  19. The whole Alleyverse is in a temporal vortex of shifting dimensions, moving towards an ultimatum of infinite paradoxes, resulting in the end of Euclidean existence. ...I have no idea what I just said.
