The interludes are right. It went like this: Me: "So, has there been a mass exodus before?" Sanderson: "Yes. It's been talked about in the Words of Radiance, actually." Me: "I missed that. I'll have to re read it." Sanderson: "It's in one of the Interludes, actually." Me: "Awesome! Thanks" I think I paraphrased one of those, but can't figure out which. So is it the Parshendi or the Iriali? It could honestly be either one. Eshoni's mother told her that they just settled in the planes after the last desolation, but what if they were looking for a home to escape their old gods? They wanted to escape the Odium spren so badly that they went to war on the nearest planet they could find to escape them. It was an act of desperation. Or, it could be the Iriali. The reference to the long path sort of reminds me of the Way of Kings book itself where the king walked a long path to one end of his kingdom to the other. Maybe that is just a cultural thing that everyone has to do as a right of passage, or maybe they really did just leave their world in favor of Roshar and called the journey there the long path. I am really at war with this in my head right now and need some more definite answers than "maybe it was this," or "maybe it was that." If anyone can find concrete evidence, that would be awesome.

Actually, I'm the one that asked that particular question. When I asked he said "It was discussed in Words of Radiance." Zas probably wrote it down wrong.

I've had this same thought! I really think that it could be someone who bonded with a spren, figured out which type of Radiant they were, then took on the name of Nalan because his own delusions. Then, he is going to teach Szeth how to attract a the Skybreaker spren.

Alright, folks. I have a question. We know that Gavilar saw the visions from the Almighty that Dalinar saw (see Interlude 13 in WoR). The question for you is if Gavilar hadn't been killed by the Parshendi, would he now be the Bondsmith? Yes, the Everstorm might never have come if he wasn't killed, but what if. If he wouldn't have been a Bondsmith, what is the big difference between the two brothers that makes it possible for one to be a Bondsmith but not the other?

Please allow me to preface my critique with this: The skill involved in this is good enough that I have no critiques on it. Therefore, I'm going to get very nit picky about execution. I hope that is read as the compliment I intended it to be. Shallan's portrait was near perfect I say "near" because it doesn't seem you took too much from the side profile we already have of her in the front of WoR. It's a personal grievance, so don't put too much stock in it. It is really good! (I'm not sure that she would be wearing Kholin blue). Jasnah seems a little too.... not Jasnah. She seems like a different Alethi girl. The problem, I think is the hair with the smile. The hair is down and it seems like it is not very controlled. The smile is just uncharacteristic because of the eyes. They eyes are too soft. Again, this is just my point of view. Her clothing was so perfect I couldn't even get over it. Kaladin should have a beard. Come on. The expression on his face was perfect, though! Syl is beautiful and fantastically done. I love that one a lot. The Chasm Duty picture really gets a cross the magnitude of the chasm. I love that it shows Kaladin with Syl lighting the way for him; that's just perfect symbolism. In the end, I think this is my favourite one you have shown us! I can't wait to see more. If I could make a request (I know you only do that for people you know personally, but I have my fingers crossed) could you do a picture of Teft or Zahel? I really want to see how you would do their pictures. They are a similar character type, so pick either one. I am just extremely curious how you would render them.

I have gone the therapy route before for something else prior to this, but it didn't help a whole ton. It is something I have been considering going to because I had a breakdown in the middle of work yesterday... Thank you for the kind words. They have made my heart a little bit lighter today. It's good to know that there are more out there who care.

This is the official Cosmere Philosophers thread! Here, you can post questions about the actions of different characters. All questions about morality, clarification, and general what if's are welcome here. Feel free to bring quotes from the old philosophers (Plato, Emerson, Socrates, Locke, etc.). The more evidence you have, the better. Just a question to get the ball rolling: If it would stop the Everstorm, would it be okay to kill all humans who became Radiants? Keep in mind that the Radiants all killed the spren they were bonded to and the Everstorm killed thousands more humans than just the few Radiants that would have to die to stop it. Life before death, but who's life and who's death?

Yeah, we can do either type of discussion. The point is to consider as many types of views as possible. I will start a thread, I just haven't had the time to until today. I have no WoB on it and it never says it in the text. It's my personal theory that it is Taln talking through dying people in a similar way that Ruin was able to influence people with Spikes. When they are close to death is when Taln could break through and let his voice be heard. If I'm right it is someone being tortured in Hell.

I saw the death rattles as Taln's whiny way of saying "I suffered forever for you people and now you just are going to let this stupid thing happen. Ungrateful idiots." Maybe I am wrong, but that's what I thought they were.

I love Syl's energy. She is the only spren we have met that I actually identify with.

I posted about this before, but it was kind of hidden. My best friend killed himself almost a year ago to the day. I freaking hate him for it. I want him back and alive, but I can't have that because he is a selfish prick. I obviously have some forgiving to do, but I just don't want to. I feel like my heart gets a little bit more shriveled any time I think about it, so I don't like confronting it in my mind. It's just too hard emotionally. I understand why he did it because I've been there. I've attempted it before. I just wish that he took the route that I took and got myself out of the situation that lead to the attempt. I really want him back. I loved him. Have you ever had a friend who was like a brother to you? He was this kind of friend to me. He taught me how to interact with people. I am who I am today because of him, and now he is dead. A lot of times, people tend to be put on pedestals after their deaths, but for me he was always on that pedestal. He was the Best. I don't blame God and I don't blame myself, at least not any more. I just want him back. I want to see him and hear his contagious laugh one more time. I want one of his hugs. They were the best damnation hugs you could imagine.

I freaking loved that movie! It so dang good!
