  1. Just trying to shed some light:
  2. ...Are you sure? That was a fairly important time for the UK, plus they won, so I don't see why they'd bother hiding it. Maybe you forgot? Because the notion that the UK wouldn't bother teaching you of Winston Churchill is...well it would blow my mind.
  3. I'm going to assume a literal canal, in which case The Italian Job? The one with Statham in it..
  4. I've not seen Ace Detective, so I can not speak to it, but I can shed a little light on the Ace Attorney game series *looks at profile pic* It's success in the West is due not only to the gameplay and fairly well told stories, but also a major part is due to the amazing localization team. The original, Japanese, version of Ace Attorney, Gyakuten Saiban, features a lot of jokes and puns within Japanese culture. The localization team hired understood this, and rather than creating a direct word-for-word translation, which would have resulted in many of the jokes not making sense to Westerners as well as many, if not all, of the puns no longer working, the team opted to replace the Japanese jokes with English jokes. Thus you get puns like Dick Gumshoe being the main detective you interact with, or Lotta Hart being a very kind character with a country accent who puts her all into her work, or Wendy Oldbag being an old woman who, though a security guard, hates the youth of today and all they represent and likes to complain about it, a lot, a particularly high speeds. Much of the love for the series of games is due directly to the fantastic performance of the localization team. As for the Japanese judicial system, if one of your problems with the show was the judicial system itself, then I'm assuming they used the Inquisitorial System, and not the Adversarial System. The latter is the system used by the US, UK, and Canada, to name a few. The former is used by Japan and a few others. If you'd like to know more about this system, I'd recommend Wikipedia's article on it. The other major thing I can think of in regards to the system used would be guilty until proven innocent, which is how Japan works, with 99% of defendants being convicted. Defense Attorney's who have worked the field for over 25 years often have 5 total wins or less. It's pretty brutal. Anyways, just trying to help you understand a bit more. I might give the show a watch to see how similar to the games it is, though the games are very comical, serving as a parody to offer criticism, rather than directly attacking the Japanese judicial system outright, so the likelihood of them being very similar is low.
  5. Unfortunately true. She was going to replace Hamilton on the $10 within the next couple years before they opted to instead leave Hamilton and put a picture representing woman suffrage on the back, though they haven't announced a planned time for this yet.
  6. IP = Intelectual Property. In other words, Blackhoof is saying your guy is firmly a pseudo combination of Iconoclast and Lightwards, which is true.
  7. That's actually really close! But the answer is 7, one of which was only 10 episodes long, and another used the missing color as an accent on the outfit: Alien Rangers - Missing Pink, had White instead (only 10 episodes) Wild Force - Missing Pink, had White instead (though the outfit had Pink as a secondary color, so it's questionable) Ninja Storm - Missing Pink, had Crimson and Navy instead Dino Thunder - Missing Pink, had White instead Jungle Fury - Missing Pink and Green/Black, had Purple and White instead RPM - Missing Pink, had both Green and Black as well as Gold and Silver instead Dino Charge (currently airing?) - Missing Yellow, had both Green and Black, as well as Gold, Graphite, and Purple Go ahead and ask the next question though!
  8. And that's assuming they weren't corrupted from just testing their powers out. The best place to see the immediate affect of corruption is probably the scene where Prof saves David near the mid-end of Steelheart.
  9. Indigo League *Lyric might be "Our hearts so true" instead, I have very bad ears for lyrics, a trait I inherited from my father. Orange Islands Johto Season 1 (MY FAVORITE!) I'mma skip Born to be a Winner. Aside from ripping quite a few verses from the first theme, I just don't like it... Johto Season 3 And now we get to when they don't bother making full length songs... Hoenn Season 1 Hoenn Season 2 Interestingly, that's where I stopped watching the anime, which worked out because that was right before WB dropped it and cartoon network picked it up (I think WB had it through Hoenn though, so one more season). Plus the intros got pretty bad for a while there. WLIU how many seasons of Power Rangers lacked one or more of the core five colors (Red, Blue, Yellow, Pink, and Black/Green - Black and Green count for the same slot, so one or the other are needed, not both). You do not need to know the names of the seasons, nor the characters (bonus points, of course), just give the total number of seasons.
  10. My apologies, I completely forgot mine was active! Now to remember what I was thinking of for that hint... I honestly don't remember what I was thinking, and I won't be very active this week to keep up with it, so someone else please take the reigns.
  11. Isn't Thunderspear a High Epic? We decided that when High Epics enter town, having divulged that they are High Epics to the security at the Checkpoint, then Rainmaker (Comatose) visits them. So Thunderspear should soon be getting a visit from Rainmaker, along with Chasmfiend and I think a third High Epic who are also needing visits from her.
  12. Not immediately, and I have no idea how long this Argon thing is going to go for. Plus, I know Silver popped back in with Converter, so if anything happens there that'll be Buttercup's 1st priority, given Converter vowed to destroy the city and all. Then there's possible Iconoclast issues, depending on what you're planning. Other security officers include my minor Epics IcyHot and Resistor, and then there's Mannequin, whose owner sort of abandoned the game (username escapes me currently). No one else has joined the security force, if my memory is to be believed.
  13. Heavily agreed. All that this newly revealed healing tech does is removes any tension the show might have had. When Snart destroyed his hand to escape, my mind was blow. They guy whose only offensive prowess is a gun just lost his shooting hand? WHAAAAA!!!??? But it got replaced within minutes. Major let down, as him losing his hand would have left TONS of room for some character growth. Plus, since they're spending time in the future for the coming episode(s) anyways, he could get it healed there, and not necessarily on the ship.
  14. "The Proofs Class" was the reason I dropped my Applied Math minor. I enjoyed that class, and my professor was awesome ("Hmm, I can't remember the equation we need here...err...ho-kay, we find it from scratch" *proceeds to provide an entire proof for the equation he couldn't remember, which we needed for the actual proof we were doing*), but I just couldn't wrap my head around it. My brain just doesn't work that way, and my school didn't allow the time for me to train it to do so. That was a sad day, dropping that minor. I love me some math.
  15. If we're still taking requests, one of my biggest pet peeves on this site are when people miss spell Iyatil. They read the name as starting with a lowercase "L", but then type it as Lyatil. It's a name! That's a capital "i"! Drives me nuts.
  16. Your university/school doesn't have a 24 hour email policy? The policy at my University was that students, faculty, and staff were expected to check their email once every 24 hour period. As such, Professors had to give at least a 24 hour notice before they could expect students to have an assignment completed. So checking emails in the morning every day meant you were safe from unexpected emails or assignments.
  17. I feel like this happened because Bats wanted to show Superman how unspecial he really was. Remember that at that point in the film, Bats is incredibly furious towards Superman, so taking the God Among Men down a few pegs before killing him is something I view as totally plausible. Also keep in mind that this fury towards Supes is likely messing with Bruce's cunning-ness, which the movie hints at for some of the previous scenes. I thought of this as a Batman movie, honestly. His name is first on the title card, and Supes already has a movie in this Justice League series. Add in the fact that, as you note, the movie is mostly focused on the Bats, and to me it just makes more sense.
  18. Here's an interesting review by the illustrious Howard Taylor. He makes a very good point on a simple change the movie could have used to make it seem less bleak.
  19. Fair enough... I too love the quippy Marvel movies, though in my opinion I really like that DC is going in a different direction. It bring variability to the superhero subgenre, considering I don't want all hero movies being quippy. That said, I'm looking forward to how they handle the Flash in this universe. He's usually a character that would have quippy movies, so I'm wondering if they'll change him at all, or use him as a foil for the other heroes.
  20. Fun fact, in an attempt to find a troll answer, I discovered that only Archer fits that final clue. I was expecting to find a show titled something like "Animal Researcher", but it just doesn't exist. A kid lost in time must save the world.
  21. Though this is true, examples of this are usually products that are delayed by far more than a single year.
  22. Ah, perhaps it was just me then. The overall tone just felt hostile, but no worries, I'm having a weird day emotionally, my apologies I understood that's what you meant, I was merely saying that I feel it's wrong for the public to consider DC as the copier when history shows Marvel as the one playing catch up, in comics and movies alike, except in this instance. I 100% agree that delaying does not mean that the product will be good. However, delaying does allow the company making the product to have extra time to review their product to ensure that it is released as they want it to be. In both VG examples you provided, you can't say that the companies making the game were not okay with releasing their final product, otherwise they would have delayed it again. A product being good and a product being what the producer wants it to be on release are two different things.
