It was fine @Mestiv. Your English as a whole is fine for a foreigner. The errors you most commonly make are when dealing with verb tense (a lot of your verbs are not in past tense when they should be). No big deal!

Buttercup was keeping pace with the trio. It wasn't difficult, considering they were simply walking back to town. But she was beginning to wish she had sent one of the two officers that were in the SUV instead of coming herself. This Rick vanilla was annoying beyond belief. He was chatting with Epics. Chatting. And how did this supposed vanilla have time to just travel around befriending Epics? What job had he been assigned? She would get to the bottom of this. But worse than that was how this Argon fool was treating him. He seemed almost protective of the man. There was something to say about wanting your vanillas to be kept safe from harm so they could work another day, but this was something else. This was genuine kindness. How ridiculous. Pulling out her mobile, Buttercup went to send a message to Blossom, but a commotion from the other side of her earpiece caused her to put the mobile away. A ghoul attack. Another ghoul attack. She was beginning to get tired of these beasts. Considering joining to help Kenshin out, she stopped herself. Kenshin can handle herself, and this is a great chance to catch Argon's abilities he didn't reveal. I should get a better vantage point though. Rising into the air, she slowly made her way to the roof of the tallest building, keeping herself hidden from the group. Settling in, she watched intently for any slip in the facade below.

I enjoyed it, but it definitely wasn't as good as the other two shows.

Buttercup sat in the SUV that had picked her and Kenshin up. She had a headset on, which was feeding her ears with Kenshin's conversation with Argon. One of the security officers that were in the transport with her was holding the device that was capturing and filtering the sound waves at this distance, a good few blocks away. They were actually near Rainmaker's "side" residence, her extra home within the bubble. The conversation was rather dull, but Buttercup knew both Epics were mentally judging each other. It was a test of wills, assessing whether each other were a danger. Buttercup was surprised with how Argon treated the man he was with, however. Was this man also an Epic? Someone who had entered town prior without registering as having powers. Were they gathering strength, perhaps trying to recruit Argon? Or was Argon simply this nauseatingly nice to vanillas? She quickly drafted a message on her mobile and sent it to Jumpdrive, asking for him to look into this "Rick" fellow. When Argon offered Kenshin to accompany them into town, Buttercup tapped the shoulder of the officer holding the listening device. "I'm gonna need that. You stay here in case Kenshin comes back for any reason." Taking the device, she opened the door of the vehicle and stepped out. The rain pattered around her like it had all day. She did a quick check for whether the rain would bother the device, and it didn't. Time for some recon.

So...hi guys. I'm very sorry about my absence. I wish I could say it was due to amazing things happening in my life, but if I'm honest that's not the case, unfortunately. So yeah, I'm going to do my best to get caught up quickly (as in, today), and hopefully I can just jump right back in. Let me know if anything super important happened I need to be aware of.

All right, I'mma put my two cents in now. Apologies if my feedback is a bit erratic. 1) I am opposed to the idea of making new players adopt an Epic to start with. Like Coma, I believe one of the big draws to this game is the ability to write about the character that you want to write about. Think of all the best characters in the RP today, how many of them came from in-the-moment genius that inspired or directly created the character? All three of my main gals did, for example. Requiring new players to adopt a character as their first character will likely push them away and turn them off to the idea of playing. I'd like the RP be inclusive, rather than exclusive. 1.5) With that said, requiring adoption for a subsequent character is not a bad thing. Again there will be times where this could work against us, as people will get ideas for characters while writing the story (Corvallis ex: Broadcast, Skinsaver (I think), etc.), and so I believe that this rule should be a soft one, essentially one that we are willing to break if the idea being pitched is a good one. 2) Intro town. I like the idea, for sure, and considering the speed with which this RP moves, having them post a few times in an intro thread won't actually cause them to miss much. To make this work, though, the town needs to be outside of canon completely. If it's not, then we have to deal with time discrepancies for travel, the fact that none of the characters can start as having been established in the city already, and the issue of getting an outsider involved in important events. I feel we should leave the character's intro into a city up to the writer, so if they want to be a new arrival that's okay, and if they instead want their character to have been in the background this whole time that's okay too. 2.5) Epic of the Week leading the intro town could be difficult. That means that the owner of the EotW must be more active during their period of leader. It also means that when choosing an EotW, you're restricted to those who have the time to lead the intro thread. For example, let's say that Lightwards is the next EotW. That would require Kobold to become much more active that he currently is, because he needs to lead that intro thread in addition to being active in his actual threads. I definitely like the idea of a rotation, but perhaps make it more voluntary (considering there will be ups and downs to the rate of newcomers). 3) High Epic/Powerful Epic restrictions; I like 'em. A lot. 4) Adoption, in general, I think is a good idea. In practice it's going to prove difficult. Different writers give different voices to each character, and the voice that a character's creator gave them will likely be different from the voice an adopter gives them. I feel we need a rule to encourage adoption over creation, but as I said in the beginning we shouldn't force adoption from the get go. In terms of doing my part, I'm considering using Gleeman's Mannequin for my own purposes here soon, if Corvallis folk are okay with it, potentially ToneDeath as well since he pairs with Broadcast nicely. As for ShatterShot, she sounds like an excellent victim for a villain if Corolla (was that her name?) isn't coming back. Shattershot is also an easy post to hide since she didn't interact with anyone. Speaking of hiding... 5) I personally feel we should only hide posts if they are completely self contained. In other words, if there is any little interaction with another player, it needs to stay. The last thing we want to do is make things confusing for people trying to read our threads (including future versions of ourselves). But when you've got posts like the single Shattershot post, hiding is likely the best option. I don't think I missed anything. If I did I'll chime in later as well.

Pardon the potential double post, didn't want to risk my Edit getting missed: This is what I'm getting at, in terms of getting too far ahead. Buttercup's not going to get the news about Rainmaker using Thunderspear for at least an in game hour, which could be weeks worth of me posting once I get the time to start again. But I do like the idea. Let me think on it a bit.

I was already planning on it I think you're moving too fast. As in, the RP does not move anywhere near that fast normally. Finishing this day in game could take months. I understand and sympathize with your enthusiasm, and it's worked out so far with Comatose having time to post as well. We should try our best to not get characters separated by too much time within the same city, it'll just get confusing the further separated they all are. Otherwise you're setting yourself up for, at best, months of not posting or, at worst, having to retcon events in or out of your posts.

In terms of time of day, Buttercup, Kenshin, and Argon are locked right around 1 pm right now, maybe a little later than that. As for tracking Iconoclast, keep in mind that I haven't read any of the new posts in the the thread. Buttercup will be very upset that Rainmaker is assigning someone else to track him down, because 1) she wasn't consulted, and 2) Buttercup takes pride in her security force and their effectiveness (this confidence can be a false confidence, however, since there's never been too many issues in Corvallis). But yeah, it's up to you guys. This is a cooperative role play, after all. Personally, I don't think the security would miss any witnesses, but then again it's a possibility, so yeah. Also remember that eye witnesses are more often than not unreliable when retelling info. If your trail of bread crumbs are witness after witness, you're compounding that unreliability with each new witness you speak with. Just something to keep in mind.

I love Darth and Droids. Waiting for them to finish Ep VI to read it though.

The Vodou religion is actually really cool, and I highly recommend conducting research if you're at all interested. It was one of the religions presented on in my Religions in Society class, and I enjoyed it immensely.

What are you playing right now?

That's asking for a lot. The Monster Hunter series is known for being newbie unfriendly, meaning it's really hard for new players to pick up the series. I would suggest looking for guides around the web, maybe some videos on YouTube? It's a very complex series. Good luck though! I've heard the best option is to just sort of allow the game to throw you in the deep end. -

You two can do it! I made it through a year of 5 APs and two evening college courses, you can get through this too! Believe in yourself, trust your instincts, and DO A BARREL RO-...I mean BRING A NUMBER TWO PENCIL! And always remember that it's just a test (well, four of them), and not doing well does not mean your life will be garbage. Worst case scenario, your $90 (or however much they cost) in the hole and need to take the courses (or similar ones) again in college. No big deal. YOU CAN DO IT! -
@Comatose My biggest concern with your plan is that Euphoria is a Queen, so doesn't everyone in the city know what she looks like? It's not like we've bothered to keep any of the Queens' faces a secret. Even though she uses gifted proxies to deliver her "drug", the common people should still be able to recognize her, no? Other than that giant hurdle, it sounds fine. Edit: Ninja'd

I agree, but then again you sort of signed on for sloppy writing when you stepped into the superhero comic realm. Sure, some of them are fantastic, but mostly they're all subpar in terms of actual writing quality.
