  1. He was rather important in terms of the history for the region. I learned about him in a world history class.
  2. That is a very matter of fact statement, considering we don't know if it's true. WoB suggests that the granting of sentience is something completely different from Awakening, particularly when you consider that Vasher states in Warbreaker's prologue that he's awoken various metal objects in the past. The granting of sentience is something special, an extra step to the Awakening process, and I doubt it's as simple as "just pour more breaths in it".
  3. Mhm, that's also a good possibility. We don't know what Earth-2's Caitlin has been through in life, but Earth Prime Caitlin has got the set up needed to be a villain, she just needs something to make her crack. Of course, those same life events could cause her to choose to remain vigilant and "good". Such a fine line between villainy and heroism. Whichever path they choose to take, be it one of these or a completely different one, we know she should be coming within a season or two (hopefully not longer), considering Killer Frost was shown at the end of season 1 during the Speed Force time jump. I honestly am really excited for it (and a potential Captain Cold meet up). Amell seems confident in their ability to weave the three shows together. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
  4. Hmm, I suppose you could set the team up in Arrow/Flash. I always assumed that the idea would spark during Arrow/Flash, but all the actual set-up would be the pilot for the new show. If it doesn't have a strong pilot and plot, it won't last long, because without a strong pilot and plot the show will be relying on it's parents to keep it going, which might only work for a season or two.
  5. Hmm, well, my info was from an article on the interwebs, so it's probably not very accurate then. Though what you've described with Stephen's tweet, Bort, sounds more like a scene from Legends than it does an actual crossover between Flash and Arrow. Thanks for the response. I'll reveal one of my deepest secrets to you guys...I love Laurel. In particular, I feel 100% opposite to you, ScottLeft, in that I love Season 1 Laurel because of the actress and how she portrayed the character. Quiver and I have been discussing Arrow (and Flash) in PMs for about two or three months now, since I started watching the shows on Netflix in August/September, and I detailed it to him. I can copy the conversation here if you'd like.
  6. I saw that the other day. Personally, I don't like it, but it might be a decent means of turning many of George's mistakes into positives. I'm pretty confident that most of the things that the theory claims are intentional were in fact mistakes, because the movie is just plain bad. Other similar mistakes are made throughout that don't involve Binks, meaning that these are merely removed to make a story. But to each their own, that's what theory crafting is all about!
  7. Considering he's legitimately a scholar, with a scholar mind, I'd bet that if he hasn't figured it out yet, he's probably working to figure it out. Unless he's all down in the dumps like he was in Warbreaker.
  8. 2. Its been a long time since I've seen the movie, so...yes. I'm 90% confident that's the one. 5.
  9. Now that is a worthwhile thing to discuss. You might be better off emailing Brandon using the form built into his site. Not sure if Peter even bothers with his PMs (I assume he gets a ton of them), but by using the email option you are guaranteed that someone from Dragonsteel will see it (probably not Peter initially).
  10. 1. I agree 2. Raiders had a 40 minute action sequence. Literally 40 minutes straight. Never been done, until Star Wars Episode III anyways, and potentially Kill Bill Vol. 1 (how long is the Crazy 88 scene?) 3. Agreed 4. Indy is far from invincible in Raiders, including the whole getting injured which leads to the romance scene. 5. Your characters from earlier movies are originally from Raiders
  11. I personally preferred Raiders over Crusade, but otherwise no argument here.
  12. Just a heads up to Corvallis players, I edited the final Buttercup section of my last post to include noting the bubble going back up. I meant to include it from the get go, but it apparently slipped my mind.
  13. Not if he still has a store of breath hidden in various objects around his hut. He'd only need 1-2 breaths per Weeping, and that's on years when there isn't a storm in the middle. So 1-2 breaths every 2 years means a small stock of breath will last a long time.
  14. Guys, it's not a matter of not knowing how many sales they'll have, it's a matter of actually having the time and resources (including man-power) to make them and package them and ship them. Such has been said in a couple of the signing reports from this past tour. It's what he said in Michigan.
  15. Technomancer is a really cool Epic name. Who ever the player is, he's got taste.
  16. No, crossovers this season. Like full on, cast visits the other show, in such a way that they combined the logos like the did last season. Though I'd really appreciate it if you added more detail, with specific examples, I'm not going to ask you to write me an essay. Instead I have only one question; you feel the same way about Thea then, yes?
  17. I read an internet article, which I can't seem to find so perhaps the validity is slim, that said there would be no Arrow/Flash crossovers, nor would Supergirl even acknowledge the other two shows. So I don't think there's going to be any crossovers until characters start popping up in Legends. Also, I really have to ask, and perhaps I'll regret this. Why the Laurel hate? I'd like a serious answer please. I think you're underestimating the sheer revulsion they all feel towards Eobard. It is literally the case of running into someone who looks just like your mortal enemy, a mortal enemy who knew how to Time Travel and escape death, and have to get over your feelings because it's not actually your mortal enemy. I completely understand their feelings, as well as their difficulty in accepting Harry. I'm pretty confident (and sad) it'll be Earth Prime Caitlin. She had a couple of passing lines in season 1 such as "Ronnie and I were Fire and Ice," but this week's Flash had a particularly revealing line, where she says something along the lines of "just because you, or any one of us, gains powers doesn't mean we'll suddenly turn evil." Major red flag.
  18. Are you talking about Sanderson Elimination, KidWayne?
  19. The illustrious Peter Ahlstrom's birthday is on November 26th, and his username on the old Timewasters Guide was Ookla the Mok. Whether Peter picked the name due to the Filk band Ookla the Mok, or if he took it from the character on the old 80's cartoon Thundaar (which is where the band took their name) I do not know, but either way, for the week of November 26th, many members on here will change their names to Ookla the ____. It's actually kind of cool when they manage to involve their usual username in some form as well. Oh, and often that "week" turns into 2 or 3, extending until Koloss Headmunching Day (Brandon's birthday on Dec 19). So I hope you know your profile images. And hope that people don't change those around that time. Edit: Actually bothered to follow the link in Kirk's post, realized I didn't need to type any of that up *facepalm*
  20. Yesterday was a quiet day on the Shard, it seems. I only had 35 notifications this morning. I usually have over 100.

Oh, wait. Is that when you follow a topic and they send you a bunch of e-mails? I did that once and my Yahoo was overflowing.

Yes, but you can choose to have it notify you on the site with the two buttons up by your profile pic at the very top, as well as e-mails. I personally have my emails off, but the site notifications on.

  21. All right, no one's brought up anything regarding last weekends Nightmare Night episode, possibly because you all saw it when it got leaked a month ago, but regardless, there was one special, completely uncommented on second of footage that I wanted to make sure everyone caught because of how awesome it was: Overall good episode, and I enjoyed myself. It feels like it's been forever since we've gotten a good Fluttershy episode.
  22. It certainly helps Marvel's case that their Avengers line thus far has focused on heroes with no secret identities. That's the whole story of the Civil War, whether heroes should be forced to reveal their identities or not (which is my favorite Marvel story), so we'll see if the new Civil War movie bothers to stay true or not. But Marvel has their fair share of heroes with secret identities, just as DC has their fair share of heroes that don't.
  23. I think that's the joke...
  24. Considering the friend is speaking with teachers, I don't believe it would be abuse from a figure of authority. But sexual abuse can stem from peers as well, even if they aren't homosexual. For example, it's still sexual abuse if, in a locker room, a peer forces some embarrassing outfit (or lack there of), pose, or sexual action on the poor kid, and the incident would be particularly scarring if public ridicule came out of the situation as well. That said, this type of reaction could easily be in response to bullying as well. I think that's the more likely situation considering the friend reverts to their normal self outside of school. But I'm no psychiatrist.
