I'm editing my main post with more things, just typing this down here because this is where people will look. EDIT: sorry, I should have written this post after I edited my original. It took me longer than I thought it would. It's now edited.

The people, of course. Do you not remember Dalinar talking about the king being the servant of the people?

good deal!!!

Okay, I now understand all the parts of your post (I think ), but now I'm just confused on how they fit together. I bet basically anyone else could look at it and be like "oh yeah, that totally makes sense" but I can't because of the way I think . Everything has to be spelled out exactly, or nothing can be spelled out exactly, otherwise I just get lost

I'm in the boat of Shallan's Memories being attached to her radiantness. I'm also in the boat that thinks that Jasnah's stormlight bolt isn't truly soulcasting (although it might be, since it was still soulcasting that was done when it hit the criminals). And why would the author put the two soulcasters we currently know in the same order, when he (like everyone else) wants to show off what he created. And we don't know if Shallan physically went to shadesmar. Jasnah was surprised that Shallan could go in the first place and that Shallan woud be stupid enough to go with such a small bribe, but to an outside observer it could easily look like both Shallan and Jasnah just going into a trance-like state.

I don't think any spheres dim while she draws. I would think that it would have when she's draws in Jasnah's cubby for the first time. She drew many pictures (at least three I think) that night and it never spoke of dimness.

I was thinking Kaladin might want the shardplate because now that he is supposed to protect Dalinar he might realize that the plate will help him protect better. What he didn't want was the sword because that will make him lighteyes (does plate also do that?) and it's what killed all his men. He had no compunctions(?) about the plate, he was just lumping it in with the sword. @Odium I sat and stared at your post for several minutes and I answered in the only way I could wrap my head around what you said. I didn't really know what you meant by your last sentence unless now I realize that you might have put it in as something the AUTHOR put in as foreshadowing or something, like what he could have done by having Shallan soulcast blood for her first soulcast (if she is in the blood order), even though the soulcasting depends on what gem one has instead of what one's order is. That's the only way I can now think of wrapping my around it.And ty for taking my suggestion , although child should be capitalised . And if it were me I might look at how long and departed look when capitalised, since one can be construed as the "name" (like tanavast) and departed can be construed and a description (like Honor can be) (I believe construed is the right word, I don't use it very often and I don't want to look up the definition) EDIT added something to make what I was saying more easily understood

seems like a really good theory to me. I personally am seeing builder as like a group builder or a confidence builder or something like that. could be talking about engineers though. I tried going down the list by myself to see what i got without looking at you and i got the same as you except i broke down at the learned/creative/honest/wise ones. I have no idea how to put those.
-
I decided them for those orders because Shallan uses eyes with her memories and I explained how ruby was in the middle of the three stones jasnah uses. and thanks for linking in the chart, that was one of things things i forgot to put in the first post. Will edit it in now. good possible other stormsurfer theory. I like it.

OOOO. Could something magical happen if it drained some of Kaladin's energy? He's in the protection Order and the Spren is named "the protector".

K... I don't think I've read anything that debunks these theories or anything that these copy. I just finished WoK for the second time and I came out with a few ideas. I don't even know how much on board i'm on with any of these theories, I'm just putting them out there as Food for Thought. Brandon said that Tanavast is the original holder of the Shard Honor, I believe. To me that makes it sound like somebody else now holds Honor. I propose that Jezrien (or a different Herald) somehow found and "picked up" Honor after Tanavast died and before Odium was able to shatter it. That allows Jez to really be the Stormfather instead of just being called the Stormfather. Going off of the previous idea, only it doesn't specifically have to be a Herald that picked up the Shard, I propose that when Kaladin is Stormsurfing and a voice says "Child of Tanavast. Child of Honor. Child of one long since departed." the voice is meaning three different people, or concepts maybe. Tanavast is a person. Honor could be the concept or idea of honor or the current holder of the shard. the one long since departed could be the Herald of Kaladin's Order. When I read the stormsurfing part, I figured it could have been Cultivation or Roshar's possible third shard that spoke. Jasnah could be in the third order. She keeps Smokestone, Ruby, and Diamond on her soulcaster. She could easily just have those ones because they're the most efficient for her to have though. That leaves the fourth for Shallan. She uses her eyes for Memories, although we don't really see her display as much Loving/Healing as other things. I'm pretty sure I had other things, I just can't think of them now . I welcome criticism EDIT: use this chart for ars arcanum usage. thanks to odium for reminding me. EDIT 2 - Forgotten Things: Valley of Truth obviously ties in with Szeth being truthless (to me at least). I just don't know if the valley of truth is somewhere in shinovar or if it is shinovar. I'm thinking it might be somewhere in Shinovar because Szeth thinks about it and then he thinks about Shinovar 2 paragraphs later Nevermind, it's in the same paragraph. And that paragraph is what's making me think they might be the same. I believe the shinovar merchant was the guy who first owned Szeth, along with anyone else who's going to read the next quote. Nightwatcher is called a boy and a girl in two different situations. People talk about the Nightwatcher living in the "Valley" and the only other valley we hear about is the Valley of Truth (I think). Again, most of this is just Food for Thought.

@Odium's_Shard Well... Tanavast (the voice) didn't actually say to trust Sadeas. Dalinar asked if he should trust Sadeas and then the voice said "Yes. ..." Tanavast was saying yes to his own musings and Dalinar misunderstood. and can I suggest that you add "Child of one long since departed" after "... Child of Honor" in your signature? I've been hoping for a very long time that when Amaram's army marches into camp, Kaladin yells something like "Ho, Amaram, how're my shards treating you?" Then Amaram looks over and he looks as if he saw a ghost (Pale face, wide eyes, open mouth, still as a statue, etc.). That would make my day. And then I'd be happy if Kaladin could get the Shards back. Too bad dueling is out of picture. Kaladin could keep the plate and give Moash the sword (he said that he came to the plains for a sword). And a big, heavy spear could be made for Kaladin for while he's in his Plate.

The soulcasting fabrials could have been made specifically because they wanted to soulcast "good" food. The 10 and 1 need to be connected to make a full circle (whether or not it looks like a circle) btw to everyone who might read this, I tend to play devil's advocate, so if you're thinking that I'm "disagreeing" with everything that you say (in the future) it's because I probably am "disagreeing". No hard feelings.

Brandon said it is close to or is Devotion.

Chapter Twenty-nine: Errorgance “The ones of ash and fire, who killed like a swarm, relentless before the Heralds.” –Noted in Masly, page 337. Corroborated by Coldwin and Hasavah. The parshendi don't kill like a swarm. It repeatedly states in the book that the parshendi fight in battle-pairs. I would think that if they killed like a swarm, there wouldn't even be very much organization in their ranks. Killing like a swarm implies, to me at least, that they either waaaay outnumber the opposing force, or they all just ATTACK without any organization, or both. The only time we see them outnumber the Alethi is when Sadeas quit. They might have brought even people to even it out if sadeas stayed, for a ll we know. They do "think" like a swarm though. They know what to do in battle. Dalinar (i think) comments on the fact that they just KNOW what to do... i think. I don't think that thinking and killing are the same thing though. There is orange blood in the prologue though. I personally have a feeling that the parshendi are good guys. Maybe the parshmen are bad guys . Too many thoughs. I don't want to have to figure out how to fix it... though .

I agree with Wisdom. The heralds go out and tell everyone that that was the last desolation, everyone rejoices and names it Aharietiam, then the hierocracy happens a few centuries later, and now I'm gonna end this sentence because we don't even care about the hierocracy, let alone the things after it. This is the quote someone was looking for

I think it would go off of your prime attributes(?). It would take a very life changing situation to change the fundamentals of one's person. Take Kaladin for example, he's gone through several life-changing situations and he still is driven to protect people.

I found the quote. pg. 118 Shallan's drawing Yalb while waiting for Jasnah. EDIT and is on the same page. Attracting creationspren makes her creative, but not necessarily the kind of creative we normally think of when we hear creative. I don't think the connotation that goes with creative when we think of it would describe how Shallan attracts creationspren. The question is, Is the "creative" in creative/honest the creative that attracts creationspren, the creative that we normally think of, or both?
