  1. funny thing is we were having a chat about that line in the #cosmere IRC channel the other day, general consensus is that yes it's a dragon. And there are in fact, dragons in Dragonsteel, and the character the letter was written to is in Dragonsteel, according to word of Brandon.
  2. I should clarify that I have no problem with slash on principle, my problem is that most slash fics I've seen feel very contrived, like someone just figured "these two characters are awesome, so having them in a relationship would be even more awesome!" without regard for their personalities and interactions in canon like the endless Harry/Draco Malfoy fics. Granted a lot of hetro relationship fics have the same issues, if writers decide to disregard canon pairings and invent their own, but it seems more common with slash.
  3. I've never understood the collective obsession with slash displayed in so many fandoms myself. Seriously, why do people insist on slashing *everyone* for no apparent reason?
  4. Kaladin is 19, or possibly 20 by the end of the book, Shallan is 17, ,so yes, they are almost the same age. And I don't think you need to worry about that, Jordan sucked at characterization, for all that he was brilliant at plotting and worldbuilding.
  5. that kind of thing happens around here a lot.
  6. I think the unpublished book comment was made after Alloy was released, and also Alloy was originally just a short story Brandon wrote while plotting how the Mistborn world develops between the first and second trilogy.
  7. it probably has to speed up your mental reaction time some, otherwise you wouldn't be able to control the speed and would just run into a wall at high speed and go splat or something. zinc has more to do with reasoning things out quickly then reacting quickly.
  8. the third member is from an as yet unpublished book, so we don't know who that is yet and won't until said book gets published.
  9. don't apologize, I found it interesting! And I'd like to read more of this.
  10. I read "attracted" instead of "attached" there. damnation you brain. I think I broke myself. The rest of the reactions are hilarious. I hope this person does WoK also.
  11. Atium is the solid manifestation of Ruin's power as Lerasium is the solid manifestation of Preservation's power.
  12. Possibly Lightsong is bi. Also word of Brandon is that Drehy from Bridge 4 is gay (He's based on a friend of Brandon's)
  13. It is. It's an alloy with gold.
  14. I LOVED Good Omens. Haven't read anything else by Gaiman yet.
  15. I can't imagine how he could have told the story very well in only three books!
  16. I agree, it's definitely not as wrapped up as Elantris and Warbreaker. I'd like a sequel to those, I need a sequel to AoL to feel like it's a completed story.
  17. yeah he did. Of course, T. could be wrong but Szeth doesn't correct him.
  18. wow, that line looks so bizarre out of context. I was talking about Vin, for the record.
  19. didya know the more wrinkles your brain has the smarter you are? It is true fax.
  20. make him do your cooking the next night in exchange. Then at least you get to be lazy two nights in a row for no extra cost.
  21. I've no idea why somebody would give you bad rep, maybe they just hit the wrong button, it happens.
  22. lerasium alloys make mistings of the alloyed metal.
  23. it makes Ironeyes cry, and then he makes you cry.
  24. most notably in the chapter where she soulcasts.
  25. it's definitely worth reading! It's a lot lighter then his other books, but that's not a bad thing, at least in this case.
