  1. I have theory that Odium is the one promoting the prohibition about foresight; Odium can't see other fortunetellers clearly, so he has spread that cultural norm. Another odd thought: perhaps Renarin's spren were even intentionally corrupted for that reason? Isn't the corrupter a traitor to Odium after all?
  2. Dang Theylan city looks like an Aon (though likely isn't)
  3. We also don't know what else Awakening can do. Vasher somehow took the memories of that abused child, and we have no idea if such an act could be weaponized in some form. I suppose it is possible that Vasher used another divine breathe to help that child, or he sacrificed enough breathe to make the equivalent of a divine breathe, but I am not convinced.
  4. Ive always wondered if Susebron would awaken air. True, it has no colour, but is Susebron beyond needing colour? If we pretend air has enough colour in dust etc (or he doesn't need colour anymore since he bleeds white), can he Breathe-cast air and instantly win most fights? He can awaken at a distance now as well, so... I doubt the lord ruler has that much oxygen stored in his metal minds.
  5. Wasn't Wax and Wayne basically hunts for several series killers? Seems like we just had that so we shouldn't have it again.
  6. Oathbringer Spoilers
  7. Lord high you take, death ablaze, ablaze, death takes you, High Lord.
  8. Wasn't Ambition wounded near Threnody, and then fled? Odium couldn't find Ambition, so he went after Sel? The Sel shards die, and then Ambition is shattered at some point after the death of Dominion and Devotion?
  9. Those who distinguish themselves in battle get to fight again in the afterlife according to the major religion on Roshar. It would make sense that Eshonai distinguished herself enough to remain a cognitive shadow. Odium doesn't trust her, so she sent allowed to remain on Roshar. Just my idea, but spren Eshnoai gives us a lot of narrative avenues. Also, Roshar refers to all Cognitive shadow like things as Spren. Its also unclear to what extent VoidSpren are spren, or something else.
  10. Hmm. True. Your most likely right, but I would be more pleased if we discovered she has been experiencing time issues much like the heralds/nightblood seem to suffer from.
  11. My pet theory is that The God Beyond is Ambition. Ambition died, but the Shattering sent invested rock across space. Ambition has been working from beyond the grave to reform itself.
  12. We don't known that Breathe can do well enough to make a decision.
  13. Keep in mind that the Listeners don't really die in the same way. Estonia was a hero, and likely her Spren is on Braize right now. Thats a perspective we need to see.
  14. Reasons to make us think Ambition has a chance of returning: 1. Odium wasn't able to kill Ambition outright. Instead, Odium went to Sel and killed Dominion and Devotion. 2. Ambition had the opportunity to see other shards get shattered. Ambition would have known a few things about shattering, and could have made a plan. 3. Ambition is a shard that would be willing to make an unlikely plan, and risk it all. Letting herself die in order to reform uninjured? Sure! 4. It seems odd that Ambition managed to hide, and then shattered somewhere else. Ambition sure did have a long time too make a plan. 5. Threnody is invested by ghosts that don't fully die. Could this be ambition tinkering with undeath? Ambition left a big imprint, and the timeline gives her enough time AND information to make a plan. META REASON: Few stories keep the same villain for an entire arc. It makes literary sense for Odium to be the #2 big bag, and for someone like Ambition to be way more nefarious.
  15. Some people also think it might be referring to The author of The Way of Kings: Nohadon. The book constantly references the words from the=at book "giving off light", and Nohadon visits Dalinar in a non-stormfather vision/meeting. Dalinar's book glows in the final battle, and it eventually is struck by lightening as Dalinar holds onto it as a religious item. The book has been about Dalinar connecting with Nohadon, and I personally think Dalinar is uniting the bond smiths of the past 5000+ years.
  16. This made me think that Lift is hundreds of years old.
  17. One issue is that the diagram KNEW that Odium would come AFTER Dalinar ascended. The diagram didnt just allow for this, it planned for it. Smart T is okaying a long long game with us. Dalinar was never supposed to die, and for some reason Mr.T is using Renarin almost like Atium to blind Odium. Another curiousity: Odium knew nothing of the diagram - nada, squat, diddly. How on earth would Odium know so much else, but not have seen that? Is Odium blind to certain forms of fortune telling? Renaein is unique because he sees the future, and Kaladin saved Dalinar after seeing the future. It would be cunning to trick Roshar into thinking fortune telling was evil so that no human ever used that against him.
  18. Estonia attuned resolve.
  19. I believe Melishi was the last Bindsmith at the recreance. Likely he died and his Spren (the storm father?) was spared. The sibling was already pulling away at that point, but perhaps The Sibling was the latest BondSpren.
  20. The Nightwatcher seems to me to be the Spren of Trade: Perfect for Fen I can give you a sword. Do you want gems? Wealth? Etc etc. Plus, the Shin worship Cultivation, and they focus very hard on trying to give self-defeating, unfavourable trades.
  21. Fen would be a nice fir, and having a Bondmsith of a different race/nationality would balance the coalition in a more equitable manner.
  22. I ma pretty sure we will see Roshar Fall, and all sentient life will be forced to leave. 1) We know that the end of this series is somewhere in TwOk or WoR 2) We say the planet get destroyed by the final desolation in a vision of a possible future granted by Honour 3) We already have a book series where the good guys stop a bad shard at the last moment 4) We haven't seen a shattering or world ending as of yet. 5) The Ire people believe they have another great migration coming soon.
  23. I thought of that too, but it is still a possibility. Did Odium start a Cult on Sel? What happened to those people? How long has Odium been a God to the Ashyn people?
  24. i would love to know where the humans on Ashyn came from. Were they there before odium, or did Odium bring humans from Sel to Ashyn. Kaladin notes that the Sel Man at the lighthouse looks Shin.
