[OB] Who do you think the other Bondsmiths will be?
teknopathetic replied to teknopathetic's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well, Oathbringer makes it seem like Nohadon is perhaps a cognitive shadow (Dalinar has a vision with Nohadon that is not from the Stormfather and Nohadon is very sentient in that vision). Also, when Jasnah reads TWoK, the sound of the words being read give off light. As well, Dalinar is holding TWoK when Odium fails to corrupt Dalinar. We don't know where the "unite them" voice is coming from, and Nohadon is the simplest answer to some of us. There is just a lot of weirdness going on with Nohadon, and a few of us suspect that Nohadon isn't 100% completely dead-dead. -

Moelach is an Unmade closely associated with precognition and visions of the future. His presence is what allows for the Death Rattles that King Taravangian has used to correct the Diagram. Moelach's appearance is unknown, but has recently settled in the Horneater Peaks for reasons unknown. Do we have any hints as to what harm the Death Rattles cause the people of Roshar? Surely if the Radiants were so afraid of future sight, Moelach would have a power greater than consuming investiture when people die?

[OB] Who do you think the other Bondsmiths will be?
teknopathetic replied to teknopathetic's topic in Stormlight Archive
Nohadon was the King of Alethkar at the time of the last true desolation. -
Well, Odium has been to Set, so it would make sense if Odium invested there a bit, and then took that investiture with him.
-
Well the UnMade are UnMade from something. There was something Made, and it got un-d. There are a few ideas here. 1) Some have hyphens in their names, which might mean they are unmade in a different manner than the unmade with no hyphens. 2) The UnMade could come from 3 potential planets: Sel, Ashyn, or Roshar. They could be unmade forces from different investiture, or they are all from Roshar. 3) The Red UnMade might be from Roshar, but the non-red unmade might be from Sel perhaps?

[OB] Who do you think the other Bondsmiths will be?
teknopathetic replied to teknopathetic's topic in Stormlight Archive
I would only allow Mr.T to bond the NightWatcher if Mr.T was somehow tricking Odium this whole time (Maybe Smart Mr.T made a plan to trick Odium and Renarin is the key) -
I asked about a year ago if we would ever see someone using Skycolours like Sand Brandon: "It's a different sort of thing, but you might see it, if you watch" ----------- Also, Skycolours are said to be more of an ecology thing than a magic thing according to Brandon. Brandon: In intended the colors on Darkside to be more a matter of the ecology than the magic--though, on that planet, magic and ecology are very closely tied together. (Well, I guess most of the magics are.)

I wonder if you would be able to destroy some else's breath if you had enough practice with this.

So we currently have 3 Bondsmith Spren: Stormfather: Dalinar Night Watcher: She is associated with trade and deals The Sibling: associated with the growing and protection of a city. Something Else: ? The Stormfather didn't fully confirm that the Nightwatcher was the 2nd Bondspren, so maybe not. Sibling Candidate: 1) Navani = I am leaning toward Navani. She has shown remarkable leadership in holding together the factions, and her leadership wouldn't conflict with Dalinar any any obvious or mandatory way. She is in love with fabrials, and the sibling appears to run the biggest ones. 2) Nohadon: We know that the Sibling pulled away from humanity, and the storm father claims that humanity has "hurt them enough" causing the sibling to slumber. But we also have the Gem Memory claiming that the sibling slinking away may have been more forced than something the sibling wanted to do. What if Nohadon is still bonded to the sibling, and they are slumbering together, waiting for a time to reemerge and defeat Odium. It would also be an interesting conflict between Dalinar's leadership and the leadership Nohadon would demand.

[OB] [Full Spoilers] Odium was Talking About Nohadon
teknopathetic replied to teknopathetic's topic in Stormlight Archive
Nohadon spoke like a mixture between Hoid and Mr.T, but I have no idea what that implies. Another note is that we know Dalinar can hear the voices of the dead (the screams), so it would make sense he would be able to hear other dead people or Shadows. And also Shallan manages to hear Hoid's voice in her mind, which is still unexplained. -

Also when Jasnah was reading the Way Of Kings, and Dalinar isn’t sure what she is reading, Dalinar asks asks to himself “those words, can words give off light?” Dalinar sees a manifestation of power in TWoK itself, which is quite strange. -
[OB] [Full Spoilers] Odium was Talking About Nohadon
teknopathetic replied to teknopathetic's topic in Stormlight Archive
I suppose the vision of Nohadon in the War Room after the end of the Desolation made me assume he was a bond smith, but we don't actually know for sure. That, and the visions are to teach new potential Bondsmiths about the Desolations, so it would make sense for the visions to show a past Bondsmith rather than only windrunners and edgedancers. That isn't proof exactly, but I feel safe with that mental leap. -
Currently in a re-read, and the "vision" between Nohadon and Dalinar stuck out to me. Theory: Odium saw Nohadon when Dalinar became Unity. Nohadon, either in semi-death or still alive somehow, managed to connect with Dalinar. Cultivation protected Dalinar's soul by providing the opportunity for Dalinar to bond with Nohadon, and she restored Dalinar to his broken state just in time for Nohadon to capitalize on Dalinar's open soul. 1. Dalinar is extremely connected to The Way of Kings and Nohadon. As a bondsmith, Dalinar works with connection In weird ways. 2. Dalinar's soul is cracked not only by life, but by Odium, and is temporarily "filled/protected/pruned" by Cultivation. 3. Nohadon comes to Dalinar in a dream in part 5 of Oathbringer after Cultivation has un-pruned Dalinar, exposing Dalinar's soul again. 4. The dream doesn't follow the rules of the the visions, and the Stormfather knows nothing of the latest Nohadon vision. 5. Nohadon understands Dalinar, and seems to have a strong connection to what makes Dalinar "Dalinar". They understand each other. 6. Nohadon seems real. He seems alive in the vision, and we are led to believe that this vision is a genuine interaction, not a memory or dream. 7. Nohadon, at least to Dalinar, exists. 8. Nohadon hasn't experienced the "Second Death" that the Stormfather talked about. Nohadon is semi-real (or more). 9. They talk, and Nohadon almost asks Dalinar for an oath in saying: "what are the most important steps a man can take" Later on: 10. Dalinar is left truly broken, carrying The Way of Kings as his only holy relic. Cultivation has fully opened Dalinar's soul, and now Dalinar's soul is up for grabs. Dalinar clutched to the words of Nohadon, lost in his own despair and misery, yet Dalinar keeps walking through the courtyard. Dalinar literally proffers the book as a shield, and draws the book's knowledge to keep him protected. As Dalinar's soul starts to crack, and as Odium is about to fill Dalinar's spirit-web with "passion/hate", Dalinar managed to form a connection with Nohadon, and the power of two bond smith's surge into Dalinar. This explains why Dalinar was able to do so much with the Stormfather's power, why Odium was horrified, and why Dalinar keeps hearing a voice asking to "Unite Them". I don't think it makes sense that Dalinar ascended to mini-Honour, or that Dalinar is becoming Adonalsium. That seems like too much of a power-jump too quickly. However, I will believe that Dalinar is united in spirit to a past-bondsmith, and that the unique connection there is manifesting something new, something United. Cultivation protected Dalinar's soul by letting Dalinar bond to Nohadon, and she pulled away that protection just in time for Nohadon to sneak through and fill the cracks. Dalinar's command was to, amongst other things, unite the bondsmiths. Odium is horrified to see that in place of Odium's influence, Dalinar is invested with the soul of Nohadon, somehow stitched on after the events of Dalinar's pilgrimage carrying The Way Of Kings. The Result: The Stormfather is baffled, Odium is horrified, and likely Cultivation is pleased as punch. Relevant WoBs: Q: "Nohadon is still alive, right?" A: RAFO (By my judgement, Brandon seemed both amused and surprised by the question)

[OB] Have Hoid and the Heralds bonded with Voidspren before?

[OB] [Elantris] Did Hoid use Sel Magic?
teknopathetic replied to teknopathetic's topic in Stormlight Archive
Hoid dtinks the potion to make hos haor fall out in Oathbringer. -
Its not commmonly known, but we have a WOB that the potion used to fake being turned into an Elantrian was actually invested. There is a magic system on Sel that lets people created invested drinks (thats all we know) At the end of Oathbringer, Hoid drinks a potion that makes his hair fall out. This could just be a potion, but knowing Hoid it is more likely that he has Potion Forging or whatever that magic is. This would mean that he has found a way to use Sel Magic away from Sel, or that the potions are unique in being useable elsewhere in the Cosmere.

Maybe, but something is up. Why THAT child? Did Hoid save them? Why? Also Hold needed to deposit his breathe somewhere in order to bond a Cryptic, but why did he leave the Awakened doll with THAT child? Kid seems really suspicious to me.

One thing that confuses me is Hoid's interaction with that child in the Epilogue. That child was weird - like really really weird. And how it kept saying "I cant leave Mama" made it seem, well it made it seem like it was talking about Cultivation. Could the child be the conscious form of the Sibling, and Hood tried to bond it? Then Hold decided to not do so, and moved on Elokar's Liespren instead?

Odium created a nine-headed horse demon thing, so I suspect Roshadium were of Odium (invested) but over time they adapted to the Rosier Spren ecosystem.

[OB] [Secret History][All Series] The Perfect Gems
teknopathetic replied to teknopathetic's topic in Stormlight Archive
I felt like the Amians had the gems that could explode worlds, but to me they were different than the Perfect Gems (for some reason). Plus, the Elsecallers took the gems, not the Amians (most likely) -
[OB] [Secret History][All Series] The Perfect Gems
teknopathetic replied to teknopathetic's topic in Stormlight Archive
The Ire have been around for a VERY long time. It makes sense that they would have collected many other artifacts. It makes sense for them to utilize items that can store investiture forever, seeing as how they literally feed off of it.
