  1. It doesn’t seem to hard to give Jasnah a team and hike through the cognitive realm to Ashyn. Shouldn’t Jasnah be able to pop through Shadesmaar and say hello once she locates some flickering souls? I don’t think travel within the Rosharan system is an issue for spren bonds as we have this WOB
  2. Brandon said in spoilerstream that as of The Lost Metal, Hoid is the only person with a spren bond to get off of Roshar with his powers intact (that he can remember, anyway). So it looks like the cant be Skybreakers as we would understand them. However, Brandon did really pause and hmm and haw about how to answer the question on if these people were Skybreakers. So perhaps they were Voidbinding/warbinding/oldmagicing without spren or something like that? I am still extremely suspicious of these magic users and where they came from.
  3. Yes Rabonial was born after the heralds arrived. But since people were and still are alive on Ashyn, maybe Rabonial sent a scientific expedition at some point.
  4. Interesting if it were reversed. Maybe Rabonial learns about the magic on Ashyn and tried to make something of her own. I really do wonder how long it has been since a world-hop between Ashyn and Roshar has occurred.
  5. Also, I mean, can we have the hero win again? Wouldn't that get old? The more interesting series is a world where the good guys lose but keep their honour.
  6. I mean Hoid keeps saying he would let Roshar burn to get what he wants. I think we are getting hints that Hoid got what he wanted and left the planet. In Stormlight, Hoid says again and again not to trust him - I hope we see that pay off. Edit: I though this was Hoid, but it is Nazh We also have him completely screwing over Nikki Savage in the broadsheets.
  7. OOOOOOOH. Moonlight and Hoid rematch to steal the bands!
  8. So, right before when Suit died, Suit was told by a faceless immortal that "You may serve in another realm". Now in the Lost Metal we see that Autonomy has an army of spookily human-seeming soldiers serving as an army in the Cognitive Realm. Could autonomy be using some of her servants as material for creating an army? As Suit was exploded by a bomb, it must be his cognitive or spiritual spect if so. So possible theory: Autonomy stitches human souls into her bodies of Gold and Red similar to other entities in the Cosemere (Roshar and Nalthis) Here is a WOB about it that leaves this unclear. This is from before 2018 and quite a while before The Lost Metal, but I thought I would share it.
  9. Well, it is the Stormlight leaking out that makes Radiants glow. If the radiants were using a different investiture to make themselves fly, then they likely wouldn't glow. Heck, maybe they are using Lifelight or Voidlight? Maybe things have change and those sources are easier to get off world. Or maybe they had a splash of Purified Dor?
  10. This always makes me think of someone taking up Jezrian's role in the oathoact, but I dont have strong proof of why.
  11. If she followed them you'd think she would have busted in faster than she did.
  12. Did she? I may have missed that then.
  13. Amazing work as always!
  14. I would love a spy thriller novel of Lightweaver/Fused Ones-Of-Masks verses Kandra.
  15. If it can't be avoided, then you do not need the violent tech revolution Kelsier wants to artificially create. I mean, you could move to rapid industrialization like our world did, but without a counter balance with other things you get child labour workforces and people being locked inside factories and burning to death in fires. Or people having their jaws rot off from licking phosphorus matches. Think of all the true slavery or wage slavery, female poverty workers, animal extinctions, pollutions, cancers, human rights abuses, wealth gaps, etc etc. It isn't "neutral".The industrial revolution was utter destruction and cruelty for so many people. Sazed wanting to slow things down to prevent that occurring is very respectable in my view. Our planet had a magnificently fast and horrifically cruel industrialization, and I don't think we want to have Scadrial return to Skaa-like labour forces and the like. What Kelsier wants has consequences. Sazed has TWO future sight powers and a deep understanding of ruin; I think I will go with Sazed on what is good for humanity as a whole on this one.
  16. Advancing slowly prevented Autonomy from launching an attack outright. Only when there was a tech explosion did Autonomy decide the world had to be destroyed. So, Sazed is again right about moving slowly (both for humane as well as cosmere-specific reasons)
  17. I wonder if maybe the Kandra had actually been using them for something and had dtrained them entirely. That would be an interesting twist.
  18. Very likely, but no one in that series had Gold Skin. Granted, we didn't see much of the world, but the Iriali (or their long-trail workshopping offshoots) are still our closest phenotypical match.
  19. Well the Iriali have been on the long trail moving from planet to planet. Potentially at some point some Iriali, or an ethnic offshoot, were turned into soldiers for Autonomy in the past.
  20. In The Lost Metal, we learn that Autonomy can create a perpendicularly by gathering these things together: 1. having a large number of metalborn in one place 2. a large amount of investiture in one place. This investiture might need to be unkeyed/purified but that is unclear. 3. Some sort of timing element 4. Other unknown details (potentially fixed false beliefs about Harmony being dead already, but we just don't know) We see in Stormlight that the Skybreakers were led to believe that too many surgebinders returning to Roshar could cause a desolation to begin. Now, I think most people feel Ishar was either lying, lied to, or insane, but if too many metalborn in one area can open up a planet to Autonomy's attack, then could too many Surgebinders do something similar? Was Ishar possibly not 100% wrong about this? Could allowing Surgebinders to amass in one area make the planet more susceptible to attack from other shards? I mean potentially, maybe it would have made it easier for the Everstorm to cross over if there were a lot of Surgebinders about?
  21. I like this. She also has enhanced mental speed so maybe she used that in some way to pull a fast one?
  22. I got the impression the Kandra let this all go down, but who knows?
  23. Didn’t team Marasi burn all the investiture so the doorway was no longer open? The Metalborn basically unplugged the thing while the gold soldiers were frozen in time. As well, the plan required a lot of metalborn in one place, and Marasi got the people out of the bunker. And lastly, there seemed to be a timing component as well that may have passed by now.
