  1. Awaken a stick with the command "Be a focus for Investiture."
  2. Heh, heh. You said "seamstress."
  3. "The Most Hilarious" is now an official title of rank.
  4. Giant metallic porcupines of destruction win you an upvote. Also, this means that your creatures can hold their breath and feel very close to people as they brutally murder them.
  5. Assuming TFE-era resources, double Steel, double Pewter, Allomantic atium, double Gold, Allomantic bronze, and double Iron (double meaning one of each spike, feruchemical and allomantic). Speed, strength, "flight," health regeneration, limited precognition, Seeking, and weight change. Not bad.
  6. Does a hemalurgic spike have to be made entirely out of that one metal? If not, could you cast a tin or pewter spike around a steel core to give it more rigidity? If the spike is rigid enough and has some semblance of a point, it should be able to pierce someone with the force an Inquisitor can muster.
  7. I'm not certain about the rules regarding thread necro'ing and revival, but I just read through this and feel like it wasn't adequately discussed. I happen to agree with Outis' rampant speculation because it's a model that seems to work very well, and it just rings true for me. If that is true, though, would that mean that Drab Smokers would be really weak and Awakeners would be (practically) impervious to emotional Allomancy? Or is Breath separate, in your (Outis') model, from innate Investiture?
  8. Awaken a Furby with the command "Destroy." Spray a Full Lashing on a slip'n'slide. Oh, and hemalurgically spike an elephant with awareness, Feruchemical iron, and Feruchemical steel.
  9. Awaken a coin with the command "Land on your edge."
  10. I would agree that the lashings cancel out, except that I'm fairly certain I remember a quote from WoR in which Kaladin (while way up in the air) lashes himself up and down at the same time, which affixes him in the air, not weightless, but rather held in place. I don't have a quote, as I don't currently have access to a copy of the book. Also, to try and return to the point of this thread: Expend gratuitous amounts of stormlight to play ping pong on the wall. Bonus points if you awaken a desk lamp (metal, of course) to play against you.
  11. I was under the impression that a Half-Lashing upward made you weightless and a Lashing up switched gravity upward.
  12. Better yet, infuse a gem with a Breath and watch as a part of someone's soul burns away.
  13. Is it possible to die from excessive Stormlight drain? Because that could do it. Awaken a mannequin with the command "Become expensive." Awaken a puppet with the command "Be a real boy." Edit: Also, assuming lashings are additive, wouldn't that accelerate the paper (until it vaporized) at an acceleration of something close to 1 km/s^2?
  14. Get rid of waste paper by giving it a duodecuple (12 times; I learned that word for this post) Lashing upward and let adiabatic pressure destroy it.
  15. I feel like there's something vital about Soulcasters that I'm missing here... Anyway, create a Stamp that changes objects to be unstamped, then proceed to use it over and over on the same object, thus removing the stamp previously placed, that removed the stamp before it, that removed the stamp before it...
  16. Use Iron or Steel to influence a coin toss in a pick-up sports game/match/event.
  17. Thanks. I was thinking that someone with a combination of Gravitation, Division, Cohesion, and Tension would be terrifying, from what I can tell about the latter three. Actually, there are several combinations that would be terrifying. EDIT To add another question, do we know whether there's any race restriction for Honorblade use? Also, how drastically can Aimians change their physiology? Because a ten-armed Aimian with all the Honorblades sounds really awesome. And gross.
  18. After reading through this, I fall in with the "function of power over time" gang. I was thinking that burning and flaring might be like phase changes in, say, water. Right before a phase change to a higher energy phase, there's a threshhold you have to cross for the phase change to occur. So possibly the amount of power output would be analagous to the phase, with concentration analagous to the energy input. If you concentrate on burning any less than that threshhold, you'll get normal power and burn rate, but once you cross that, you get a higher burn rate and more power. That said, I also think that aluminum takes time to burn. Admittedly, it is almost certainly less time than duralumin, but still some time.
  19. Is there any reason why a person couldn't wield two Honorblades? Obviously, this would consume exorbitant amounts of Stormlight, but besides that? Such a person would be ridiculously dangerous... Furthermore, if a person IS able to do such a thing, would wielding two Honorblades that share a surge (say, Nalan'Elin's and Jezrien's) grant extra power in regards to that one surge (in this case, Gravitation)?
  20. I'm not sure at all about that. I was just going off of what king of nowhere said, on the assumption that he was correct. I didn't remember that particular scene, and he's been on the forums much longer than I have.
  21. Though it's important to note that Wayne is using Bendalloy, and the border from "fast" time to normal time (in that direction) ricochets bullets, whereas the switch from normal time to "faster" time seems not to ricochet bullets. If the time switch is the cause of the ricochet (which makes sense—not sure if it says directly or if we have WoB on this one), it seems that a change from a certain timestream to a less dense timestream causes ricochet.TL;DR - I don't think this would work.
  22. I suppose it would depend on what Bronze actually detects. If it detects any accessed Investiture, then I'd imagine it would, but if it just detects Preservation's specific "type" of Investiture, it probably wouldn't. Of course, I may just be way out of my depth with talking about Investiture, but it seems that way to me.
  23. Bond to a spren and hire yourself out as a mobile lamp. Use Hemalurgy to capture chickeney attributes from chickens and spike other chickens to produce ultra-chickens. That is, the chickens would do everything other chickens did, but more and with more determination. Some playground uses: Use the Surge of Friction to swing without holding on. I suppose that would, however, require being on a swing with bare buttocks. Spray a Full Lashing on a slide. Use Allomantic iron (or the Surge of Friction) to successfully traverse the monkey bars (a feat I've not been able to accomplish without magic (and seldom with it)). Win games of tag by putting a Reverse Lashing on yourself while "it" (or, alternately, Allomantic pewter or Feruchemical steel). Tap Pewter to win Red Rover. Win Hide and Seek Tag by balancing in the air with either Steelpushes or lashings.
  24. Ising Mainecoons of the bigness? Ising of the thinking of the being of them of that way.
