  1. For being from Israel.
  2. Yes and ornamentation is often added, but even then the shape of the pieces of each suit of shardplate is still said to be unique.
  3. Oh. Thanks for the explanation, I follow very few topics, so I didn't know that.
  4. I generaly browse the shard on a mobile device, so I missed that. Still don't see the reason for not allowing spoilers inside tags, but I guess complaining is pointless.
  5. Who says he can't wield those magics? He healed his eyes, for exemple, and may or may not have used Illumination to slip into Dalinar's bedroom to write numbers on the wall.Just because we don't see something does not mean it is not there. Plus, Radiants having some form of clarividence or extra sensorial perception is not unprecedent, since we have seem Shallan drawing the surviving sailors and Shallash, or Kaladin riding the Storm in his dreams. Renarin's visions may be a bit more forceful, but may be a similar phenomenon.
  6. Can you explain exactly why? If someone is impulsive enough to open every spoiler tag they see, they most likely will also be impulsive enough to browse the subforum.
  7. I wouldn't worry much, as international politics will most likely take their place, and are bound to be very interesting. But then, I've never liked how Brandon handled politics in his books. All too often, the protagonists get out-manouvered but win anyway because they have the strongest mistborn/lifeless army/duelist and can beat or intimidate everyone ibto place. Now, the spying, theft and conwomanship in Shallan's chapters were what I liked, and I am interested in seeing how he will handle the great number of secret groups pulling strings through Roshar.
  8. He could have choosen one that didn't start with a "S" .
  9. @Pathfinder: Leras admited he does not know what lies in the Beyond, and nobody ever comes back to tell the tale, so while it was possible for him to find Mare, it was also possible for him to just fade into nothingness. I find it perfectly reasonable to not take the chances.
  10. Shallan, Shallash, Shashara(did I get it right?), shshshsh, Shinovar, Sazed...
  11. While I do suspect that the Hierocracy had visions, I posted a theory that it was not because of the Stormfather, but because they were Truthwatchers. I is a shaky theory even I don't fully believe, but could point towards some... interesting developments in Renarin's story. There is a link on my Sig.
  12. Kelsier tempted Spook to dabble in hemalurgy in a way worringly reminiscent of a demonic pact, promising immortality in the hopes of aquiring a hold on the physical world. And he plans to use hemalurgy to greatly expand his knowledge on the cosmere. Yeah, not dangerous anymore, all death taught him were lessons on morality he instantly got right. And non-interference, to prevent any "Greater Good" inspired dangerous actions.
  13. Not necesarily in contact with water, but in bombs made especificaly to release as much energy as possible. The explosion in contact with water could be much weaker than dynamite.
  14. I loved Steris since her second scene. While the marriage contract made me cringe, I saw how much she disliked the games of the nobility in the party abd understood she was very intelligent, sharp and capable even before BoM and sympathised with her difficulty to accept the chaos of the world, even if I am extremely averse to excessive planning.
  15. Except Horneater names. Plenty of time to blink for those.
  16. Or Spook discovered how to create identity spikes and fill them with Cognitive shadows, using this process to turn either a third party or himself into a half-broken hybrid of the original person and Kelsier. Am I the only one who wants Spook to still be alive, even if merged with Kel?
  17. Now I am unsure, but I think you are right. He did assume both were aluminum.
  18. Indeed, characters like Hoid can spark some intellectual interest as a mystery unsolved, but on a personal level the only way they can connect with the reader is by being a potential danger to other, more closely observed characters. Since for now, Hoid seems mostly helpful in SA, yet stays too mysterious and independent in his goals to be reasonably understood, we don't feel he is a menace but don't feel he is part of the struggle the more developed characters are facing. So we can't personaly connect with him as anything other than a mystery instead of a person.
  19. As far as we know, the ability of a metal to channel investiture from Ruin and Preservation depends only on its microscopic structure, not its planetary origin. I think the knife didn't glow because said channeling of investiture is only from the Spiritual to the Physical Realm, and the knife was in the Cognitive.EDIT: on that being how the Spiritual Realm looks, it is heavily implied if you read the right WoBs. Brandon mentioned many times connections are a, if not the most important aspect of the Spiritual Realm, he said atium, gold and their alloys allow one to read Spiritual Connections and said location is irrelevant there. Sounds a lot like the web of infinity Kelsier saw.
  20. Maybe the possession can only last long if the body he takes and his cognitive self are either similar or closely connected, so he had to make those scars after, or more disturblingly before taking over. Or he wouldn't feel like himself without them.
  21. Seem what? It is just normal metal, like all empty metalminds.
  22. The lack of ability to feel pain Miles had is belueved by so.e to be result of feruchemical gold savantism.
  23. The metals are generaly accepted to act as gateways to the power of Ruin and Preservation, that is why those shards can't see them as anything but light. I think Kelsier can't see it because being Scadrian, his soul is made of Ruin and Preservation. Leras and Kelsier look into the Spiritual Realm multiple times along the story. It is the infinite web of connections leading into the past and future.
  24. Or it once was a metalmind but was already used for some reason and left empty.
