  1. It strikes me that the Weeping would be a very weak time for Radiants. It is mentioned that spheres eventually run out of light before the end of the Weeping. It could prove to be an important plot point later in the series that at the end of every year this happens. I suppose this may not be the case anymore with the Everstorm disrupting weather patterns though (it may have been more important to past Radiants),
  2. Nah. I really don't see it as the fact that he thinks all light eyes are better leaders (for your reasoning or any other). I think it is more that it started out for a good reason for lighteyes to be in charge. I don't think dead spren blades change much about you besides your eye color and how other people see you. I suppose it could just have been that they were the most powerful with their new blades but that doesn't seem like a good reason to me, even if it is a logical reason for people to follow someone (not dying and all).
  3. Has there been any discussion of why the Santhid saved Shallan? Do you think it was just because she looked it right in the eye when she was lowered to study it or was it because she was a proto-Radiant? I know there has been no mention of her having any power over animals or anything, but I feel there must have been something about her to attract the help of such a creature.
  4. We definitely have a WOB confirming that Honor and Cultivation arrived together. I don't remember any specifics about when Odium arrived. I could certainly understand Honor seeking out Odium to protect the others but for some reason I do not think that is how it happened.
  5. Hmm. I can't believe that I never saw it that way. I had always just assumed that since the Radiants were still alive after abandoning their shards, that they were the lighteyed ones who ended up ruling as well (not to say that it is not possible that they did). If what you say is the case though, then I do not see how Hoid can think it is a good reason. There is something missing here.
  6. But some of these spren where around where around when Honor was still alive. I'm still not sure I see the shard unsplintering anytime soon but it wouldn't necessarily have to take back every one of those spren to do it. I'm not sure that Cultivation is not a friend to humans. But rather her intent may not allow her to face Odium in any visible way. We do not really know what effects Cultivation has had in regards to humans.
  7. Good point about Rock. Maybe it is like the bindspren. If he knows they do not want to be seen he does not mention them. Yeah, Pattern is hard to spot when he wants to be. Rock was not with them when Shallan stole Kaladin's boots. I am sure he would have showed much interest in the horneater princess but they mentioned his absence. How do you mean? Rock's power is of Cultivation? It is possible. It might also have to do with the possible shardpools on the peaks (which could mean the same thing, I suppose).
  8. I rechecked the visions myself and it was mainly only when Dalinar saw Radiants with especially light (almost white) eyes that he mentioned it and at Feverstone Keep where the man in charge was a darkeyes. I agree that lighteyes were likely descended from Radiants and this is evidenced by Hoid saying that the reason lighteyes were rulers was a good one. I'm not entirely sure if that means that all Rosharans were darkeyes before the Radiants though. Especially since we haven't really explored many of the other nations. It does make me wonder why the lighteyed ex-radiants who betrayed humanity would be given power after this act and also why they would take it when they already gave up the power they had before. I also wonder how many of the Radiants there actually were, or at least how many laid down arms (and seemingly returned to their homes and ended up in charge). It seems like there would probably be a larger amount of lighteyes in the world if the numbers I have imagined were true. I suppose that if Bondsmiths were limited, that other orders may have had limits as well though.
  9. I definitely think it is more to do with spren type than bond progression that determines visibility. Dalinar has seen multiple true radiants and never really any of their spren. He even mentions the one in Purelake talking to the air (Mind you we still don't know their involvement in shardplate.)
  10. Yeah. That is what had me wondering. We don't know what type of spren Ivory is but he seems to have something to do with shadows (shadow spren?). If he is like Pattern and always visible, at least he may be able to hide as a shadow because otherwise some strangeness around Jasnah would be mentioned.
  11. Why was Shallan able to see Ivory in Jasnah's hand if he does not wish to be seen? Can he not appear specifically to whoever he wants like Syl? Is he unable to hide at all like Pattern? I've guessed that he could hide in plain sight as Jasnah's shadow but don't recall any mentions of it. How else would a little shadow man hide? I couldn't find this question asked but if it has been, I apologize.
  12. Not sure myself. I know an ardent cannot but stormwardens are not of the ardentia. I don't recall any other occupations that specifically disinherit a person.
  13. Technically a WOB called it a he but I'm not sure of that as difinitive proof. Unless there was another more direct question.
  14. So if the metal is from a Shard we know, does that rule out Bavadin? We don't really know him aside from mentions that he exists in WoBs. We don't really know if Adonalsium was just power of an actual being (someone holding the power). It is possible that he couldn't want anything. I do like the idea of them doing it to preserve the power but I'm not sure if I believe it.
  15. But that doesn't break the plot, it is the plot. People rising up against a seemingly all powerful god and only winning due to luck and help from actual gods. Of course he grew complacent after 1000 years of never facing a real threat. While compounding is immensely powerful, it does not make you completely invincible. Most of the higher metals were either unknown or unable to be made at the time. Strength didn't really matter because they didn't win by hitting each other (though they started that way). The only powers which could have made a difference really are physical and mental speed. Physical speed would not have stopped Vin from pushing on the bracers and he wouldn't use it to run as he was winning. Mental speed makes you come to certain conclusions faster but does not make you more intelligent.
  16. There may not be a limit to how many you can have but there are limits on how many can be used at one time. Allik mentions that multiple medallions cause interference and that they are able to get max 3 attributes in a medallion. They are powerful but we won't have millions of Lord Rulers running about just yet. Also, with feruchemy involved, unless you have a lot of compounders, storage speed is limited.
  17. In what way?
  18. Silver-plated bronze. I think most of the silver had worn away.
  19. Is there a WOB saying that it is preservation changing your body? Don't recall that. Seems like it is against his intent. That was specifically interacting with liquid preservation. Of course the earring causes a problem.
  20. Well, I don't think we know that Adonalsium is from Yolen specifically. We don't even technically know if a person held a giant Adonalsium 'shard' or what it was.
  21. In my mind hemalurgy gives you the same allomantic power that the spike has stolen. In that sense, you can become a savant. Then (because savantism is caused by/causes physical changes to your body) were you to lose your power, you would be left with the physical changes but not the allomancy power to reap the benefits of. So like Spook without tin but permanently.
  22. They do seem to have a lot of it though. Maybe too much to be composed of God metals in my opinion. Sazed has to have learned enough from Ati and Leras' mistakes not to put too much of your power in physical form.
  23. I think Hoid works alone. If he wanted recruits, he has had plenty of time to gather them but it seems he is always more in the direction of giving information or minor help to push others toward his goals.
  24. Plus humans require more spikes to be controlled. While Telsin may have enough spikes (her and Edward knew the limit for control and used one spike less I believe) that one more could allow control, I doubt other members are allowed as much power. Kandra are also less likely to need specific bind points to make a spike active than humans.
  25. Unless Harmony sent the Sovereign. But I agree 10 years is a long time to do nothing.
