  1. AonDor is fueled by the Dor, as are most magics (all?) on Sel. The Dor is apparently a Shard's power in the Spiritual Realm, probably Devotion's, maybe mixed with Dominion, maybe limited by Dominion, maybe separate from Dominion. Are we talking about the Investiture here? Or are we talking about the filters (metals, Aons, etc.)?
  2. Depends on where he stabs… and if adamantium is a Hemalurgic metal.
  3. Good question, given the Alloy of the Law Ars Arcanum.
  4. I thought that Savants gained more raw power because they flare their metals too much, thus pushing (or pulling?) too much of preservation's power through their SpiritWeb, causing it to fracture even more that it was after it Snapped. This allows more of Preservation's power to flow through. Spikes simply give more SpiritWeb for people to work with, which changes the shape of their SpiritWeb, meaning that they aren't quite human… Wasn't there a Hero of Ages chapter bump that said something like that about savants (that they could be considered non-human)?
  5. I think that Atium is the only one that we know of that can steal temporal powers. There could be other metals (lerasium or atium alloys, perhaps) that could steal Allomantic temporal powers, we just don't know yet. Atium has been confirmed as the "trump card" of Hemalurgy, able to steal any trait possible within the scope of the art. Edit: That… despite the cost, could be pretty cool! Makes me think that the king of Kharbaranth would do something like that…
  6. Title says it all. Just curious to see what people will say. Brandon has said that he would be a Coinshot. I'm a big fan of Seekers, but that's just me...
  7. A god of uninvented technology who is confused about his purpose? A god of phlegm who walks around peering down people's throats? A god of teenage arrogance who is in the body of an older person and is fed up with these stuck-up youngsters? A god of depression that sets in on rainy days? Are these too specific, or should I think more broadly?
  8. Store strength in a pewtermind while working out.
  9. Wolverine would get SO beat up on Scadrial.
  10. Any thoughts on what Spook is going to reveal in his book? It's reminiscent of the documents from the first three books (Alendi's journal, Kwaan's message, Sazed's book). A lot of things point to Hemalurgy being rediscovered. Wax doesn't even know what Hemalurgy is right now...
  11. White and Black for Preservation and Ruin! I always wondered what color mists other Shards would make, since we've seen black smoke for Ruin and white mist for Preservation. We sort of see this kind of thing in Stormlight, and the mysterious "dark light" that Szeth took from Galivar. Honor and Odium, perhaps?
  12. Can a AoL era koloss be naturally born with Allomancy? No Hemalurgy, just nature. Follow-up: Can AoL era koloss even burn lerasium?
  13. Would the instrument know what music was? You would need a very specific, yet broadly-reaching intent for the Command if you actually were aiming for the instrument to produce good music. Otherwise, I think that the Breath used to Awaken the instrument would just be stored in it. If "Fetch keys" is a complicated Command, I would think that "Play music" involves too many abstract concepts to be really plausible for anyone to execute, especially if they don't have much familiarity with how music is made. Even with Vasher's mastery of Awakening, I find it highly doubtful that he could make something useful with that command. I don't know if he's ever worked with music before either.
  14. I sort of miss being a spren... Please don't downvote this just because I said that!
  15. Kharbranth has a huge library...
  16. Gain enough breath to sense those Awakened mosquitoes. Hold a barbequeue. Invite Kobold King. Run away… and laugh maniacally.
  17. TLR would be hard to cast, since he changes ages throughout the film.
  18. I was referring to the specific situation where the target is an Inquisitor, so the allomancer would be pushing constantly on the targets emotions, and therefore, the Inquisitor would be overtaken fairly quickly. Again. Edit: Again.
  19. No term that I know of or can find in the wiki. Care to originate one? By the way, does the amount of feruchemical charge in a metalmind affect how much power is gained through compounding? That is, does burning a pewtermind with 30% of my strength stored for 5 seconds give me the same amount of strength as burning a pewtermind of the same size with 85% of my strength stored for 5 years? I would assume so, but looking at some of the forums has changed my intuitions on the subject. Edited for clarity's sake.
  20. Store feruchemical chromium in a casino. That would be… frustrating.
  21. I would contend that since Aluminum is internal, that there wouldn't be any affect on the emotional allomancy (an external effect). Add to that the fact that aluminum acts in one big burst, and the Soothing/Rioting is happening continuously.
  22. Well, maybe the biggest change would be atium mistings appearing, since Preservation created the Pits of Hathsin to store a part of Ruin's power. I guess the real question is "Were there any Sliders or Pulsers in that time?" Thanks Kadrok! I'm terrible at finding quotes, so I appreciate your help!
  23. It seems to be a commonly accepted fact that Preservation fundamentally changed allomancy before he sacrificed his consciousness to trap Ruin. It is said that he took away cadmium and bendalloy from the "official" ranks of allomantic metal and replaced them with atium (and malatium?). Two things: 1) Did he actually change the way in which allomancy works? Or did the people just not know about those metals yet? (I tend to believe the latter… but feel free to change my mind!) 2) If allomancy was fundamentally changed for that period, how was it changed? Was it the introduction of new Mistings or what? If it's quite obvious that what the answers are, please link me to the source (i.e. the wiki page, specific q&a, etc.). If not, the debate is on!
  24. So, let's see if I've got this straight: 16 "normal" metals Atium (Ruin's god metal) The 16 atium alloys Lerasium (Preservation's god metal) 16 lerasium alloys That's exactly 50 metals. Sazedium (Harmony's god metal) and its 16 alloys would bring us to a total of 67 metals. Raysium doesn't sound like it would be possible. While I do understand that the god metals are bits of the Shards' power, I remember reading a WoB that it might be harder for Odium to make a metal for himself or something like that. Maybe it has to do with the fact that there aren't any humans on Scadrial that Odium helped make…?
