  1. Granted. You must wear that costume for the next five weeks. I wish to be a Full Feruchemist in a place and time where Hemalurgy is unknown to everyone.
  2. I'm guessing that the Honorblades, while they may be able to change form, don't do it quickly, given that WoR
  3. Huh. If Aons have definite meanings that are not simply assigned but are rather natural and definite, then would their connotations change over the years, or would their meanings be anchored by the fact that their meaning is not subject to the culture?
  4. Actually the prompt was from LeftVash. I don't know what ninja'ing went on, but he answered first. Unfortunately, I've never seen Gilligan's Island.
  5. Good question. I was wondering about that on my re-read. It appears to relocate the Investiture, siphoning it off. It could be compared to Hemalurgy in that it steals Investiture, but it doesn't appear to have the same Spiritual implications (primarily because the Stormlight is probably not bound to the individual like the soul is). Maybe it's like a mechanized Breath stealer, but again, the Investiture it's affecting doesn't have strong bonds to its bearer. Yeah, I would put it in a class of its own.
  6. Brandon Sanderson even has his characters RAFO each other: WoR (minor)
  7. I didn't want to do either of those because I couldn't remember the The Final Problem's name, and I didn't remember if the story His Last Bow corresponded to the story of His Las Vow. Sorry for holding things up. Name 10 books by Brian Jacques.
  8. Have you gone to his website and read the annotations? Those are fun to just get a better idea of what he does (and some Cosmere hints, too...).
  9. Reading through WoR, I found Chapter 44's epigraph to be elucidative on a subject that has been previously discussed. Note the use of the singular "was" in the above sentence. This points to the conclusion that every Bondsmith bonds to the Stormfather. Yes, Nightwatcher or Cusicesh have been popular guesses for their bond-spren, but I believe that this paragraph excludes those possibilities. Arguing the other way, one could say that, in-world, "Their spren was understood to be specific..." meaning that this could be a misunderstanding similar to the Scadrian assumption that atium was a normal metal. However, I find this unlikely, since the sentence seems to be focused more on the "holiness" and exclusivity of bonding the Stormfather. Thoughts?
  10. I would disagree. By the way, do we really need to mark Elantris spoilers anymore?
  11. 1. A Study in Scarlet - A Study in Pink 2. A Scandal in Bohemia - A Scandal in Belgravia 3. The Hound of the Baskervilles - The Hound of the Baskervilles 4. The Case of the Illustrious Client - A Scandal in Belgravia (referenced here, not main story) 5. The Adventure of the Engineer's Thumb - "You said that you can identify a an airplane pilot by his tie and a software engineer by his left thumb." Misquoted. Sorry.
  12. Agreed. Do we have an answer?
  13. Why, oh why did I forget this this first time? Absolutely my favorite moment. And you, Dawnwielder, have good taste.
  14. From the safe distance of five miles, I witnessed this one of the DA's impenetrable research facilities (I had to use five Oculator's glasses to zoom that far...) I fear for your guild, that you may be dragged down into the dark depths of Hemalurgy. Yes, you have mastered Zucchinimancy, and are exploring Feruchemole, but the possibilities of this happening are too frightening!
  15. When you decide that just buying a bluebook for your next exam is silly so you look around for something else to add to the purchase, and you walk out of the store with a copy of The Emperor's Soul.
  16. How would he know what "witty" means? If he were just an Awakened keyboard, then he would be saying "Would you like to say something witty today?" and he wouldn't be able to read Brandon's books independently. Or tell how long ago they were released. Wait... How is that useless? It would make history class more interesting...
  17. Hmmm... I can time travel. Just forward, at least. So can Marasi. And so can Wayne. But if we were having a time race, Marasi would beat Wayne badly.
  18. I think Identity is a Spiritual quality, if the Feruchemical tables are anything to go by.
  19. I think that it was still Allomancy, but the focus was different for Hoid... Just my theory. Wasn't there a WoB that said that Hoid was making people do what they wanted to do? Which is how Breeze describes Soothing?
  20. Hear, hear! May the Drabbest people in these forums be the bright beacons of innovation and knowledge to our fellow Sharders! May I have the pleasure of joining this society? (Provided i don't have to formally publish theories. I am not particularly available to do so at this time. Contribute, yes. Publish stuff like this? No.)
  21. "Going into the last quarter down ten points, what was going through your head?" "I am a stick."
  22. Did no one think that the "Shadow of Self" that could appear might be Kelsier?
  23. This. Especially since he was just talking about the Essences in the previous context.
  24. But... isn't atium worth huge amounts of money? Oh wait...
