  1. Uh... I think that it's explained easily by the date, but why does "him" link to The Rithmatist in Brandon's store and "Ask" link to the events page?
  2. Firefight
  3. In Lift's interlude (WoR I-9), Darkness/Nalan is awesome. How? Is it the larkin, or does he have an Honorblade?
  4. Kelek's breath has always confused me, since Kelek and Willshapers are characterized by "Resolute/Builder(s)" which are associated with the essence of Foil (nails/metal). Why then, do people swear by his breath, which is the characteristic of Jezrien and Nalan? You might very well be onto something...
  5. Facts known (and speculated) about Aimians and larkins and ramifications flowing from this theory: Larkins can possibly suck the Investiture from people? (cf. WoR, I-9, pp 1227 in Apple e-book)According to the theory, then Aimians may have proto-Investiture robbing abilities as well. Aimians, with their shape changing ability (reminiscent of Returned and their Cognitively determined appearance) and backwards-pointing shadows, are most likely more connected to the Cognitive Realm. I personally think that Larkins are more connected to the Spiritual, since Stormlight probably nestles in the broken SpiritWeb of proto-Radiants. I'm pretty sure that some sort of gravityspren bond with greatshells to allow them to grow to such magnificent sizes, so Cognitive influence is possible. (See "smoky" looking spren around the chasmfiend in WoK, ch13 IIRC.)
  6. Well, for being obedient, I think you get an upvote (which makes you toastspren?). Welcome to the forums!
  7. Shallan? I really like this thread and specifically this boast. Mmmmmm...cryptic.
  8. Way of Kings epigraphs?
  9. If Wikipedia is right, there's five Monty Python movies. ?
  10. The Reod? The Shaod?
  11. I'm surprised that no one has brought this up. No, it's not direct confirmation, but it seems to be as close to a confirmation as we'll get until someone swears another Radiant oath. Besides, if you look at the WoB concerning Shardplate, it's mostly RAFO except for this one. (And the one saying that it's not crem.)
  12. Actually, I think that this is a common idea. Magic vs. Technology, no? And how do you gauge how advanced you are? Hmmm... Maybe we'll call this one Mysticism. The less you know how the magic works, the better it works. Does that sound a bit like Zen Buddhism?
  13. It's primarily the Investiture that would get in the way. It's hard to Invest something that has already been Invested (like Awakening a god metal, difficult, but not impossible). As far as we know, it's impossible to Soulcast an Invested object, such as a god metal. You can't just wish Investiture from another Shard to cross the Cosmere and infuse your metal on Roshar (or wherever you are).
  14. It's only been up for about an hour. I'd say that we should wait on the hints until more people take a look at it, but I tend to be a little bit conservative about hints. Your choice!
  15. Are we talking about Sarene's failed wedding to Roial?
  16. A local troublemaker sends his kids to socialize with a drug addict and eventually covers up a murder.
  17. It caught me off guard when people started pronouncing Jasnah as "Yaz-nah", but now I don't have any problem with it. "Jaws-nah" doesn't sound right anymore. However, I don't know about Jezrien. I assume that all Vorin "j"s are soft?
  18. This has Szeth on it. Ym? "The wall is broken, our army fails! Doom is upon us and the shared darkness our only salvation!" -Subject is a former ardent, four-thirds minute pre-death.
  19. Granted, but they forgot that the concert required them to extend the stage, swallowing up the row that you were supposed to sit in. I wish that I had the ability to control all dreams.
  20. Because I know that there will be people that appreciate this here: There is a species of brightly colored spider in Australia that has been recently nicknamed "Sparklemuffin" by a graduate student. The spider is capable of seeing color "possibly even better than humans", and senses the polarization of light as well. In case you don't believe me... It makes me wonder if Dr. Funtimes would approve... Does she even like spiders?
