The Nightwatcher is to Cultivation what the Stormfather is to Honor. Wyndle refers to the Nightwatcher as "mother," and he is a cultivationspren. These are not a direct confirmation, but they're very close. They also more or less preclude an Odium connection.

cough cough Third Kingdom cough.. Also, keep in mind that Sel is 1.5 times the Cosmere Standard in size, making it a fair bit bigger than Earth. Roshar is 0.9, Scadrial is 1.0, and Nalthis is unknown.
-
We don't know. Most specifics we really have is this: In essence, Scadrial is the least populated of the 4, with an estimated population of 15 million in the Northern Continent. That is "certainly the least," followed by Nalthis and then Roshar. The Roshar count probably includes the Parshendi though, so in terms of the human pop, we don't know. Some City Comparisons: Kholinar has nearly grown to the point that it would no longer be sustainable without Soulcasters. Kholinar is big by Rosharan standards, but small compared to an earth equivalent. As a Pop person, I imagine that means a lot more to you than it does to me. The Full Warcamps beat Kholinar by a lot, and are completely unsustainable without Soulcasters. For the Population Density comparison, Elendel has an area of roughly 44 square miles. We know little about the size of other cities.

The logic is originally from Skyrim. The AC image was simply the first to pop up in the google search. Which was why I mentioned that perhaps the specifics of Godspren was something of a taboo topic to discuss. Fact of the matter is that he said what he did, and there has to be a reason why he didn't know what you believe he should have known. The taboo idea is the best I've got, because it could work irrespective of the timeline. /lightbulb We know that the Stormfather was known to the Listeners under a different name. Is it not possible that the "Nightwatcher" is a modern title, and she was known by another name previously? Fragments of an old legend being merged into a newer one isn't so farfetched given how much knowledge is lost between Desolations. There could have been belief in some grim reaper type figure in days long past called the Nightwatcher, and with the appearance of the gift/curse Spren, people "expanded" the legend to include this, and as time passed, the the reaper bit was lost to time. There is a minimum of 4,500 years for this to happen, including the "book-burning" Hierocracy. The Nightwatcher could have remained in hiding long enough after the Recreance for the old legends to fade entirely, and was only rediscovered recently by some random explorer, which could be why she started the boon/bane tradition. By best estimates, the Recreance was 2,200-2,500 years ago, so there's more than enough time for legends to be lost, even without the Hierocracy.

So it does. A most interesting parable. I'm arguing against your point using video game logic(what has the world come to..) With those kind of casualty numbers over the course of 11 full years, the chain of information will have almost certainly broken down. He may be privy to higher level information, but if no-one is around to give him that info, his security clearance means little. Same goes for those rumors.

His experiments with Aons are why the Dor was able to attack him(through that channel he made by experimenting), but I think the OP is wondering why they happened when they did. Like why not be a constant pain once he opened the gates? If the Dor was merely yearning for a way out, why hold back from time to time? etc.. etc..

Might I inquire what brought Nohadon up? 11 Years of Worldwide Desolation. 9 out of 10 people dead. I can easily imagine that said Bondsmith died during that time, or have been embroiled with combat somewhere else the entire time, so Nohadon would have never met him/her. Additionally, according to Taln: Jezrien is the one who would teach men leadership. Nohadon may have interacted with mostly Windrunners and not seen a Bondsmith during that time. It may have been taboo to talk about Godspren(out there, but possible)

I disagree with your logic. You can't store what you don't have, so that compounded attribute has to hit your system first. You just mentally divert it into a Metalmind at the first instant you can. Moving from one Metalmind to another should be no different. Compound 10 yrs of Youth from a Youthmind, be 100 yrs younger for a fraction of a second, store it in the other Youthmind. Withdraw 100 yrs of Youth from a Youthmind, be 100 yrs younger for an instant, store it in the other Youthmind. That's why it actually affects you if you don't store it immediately. It touches your system and changes your attribute(in this case: Age - 100) and then you have 100 Youth that you can store. If you do, your age reverts back to normal. If you don't, the effects of being Age - 100 actually become noticeable as that fraction of a second becomes one second. "It(Bronze) is the only type of Metalmind a Feruchemist can store into while sleeping.[5].[6]" Those hyperlinks take you to HoA Chap 50 and WoA Chap 50, back to a time when all manner of misconceptions were had. Now you can make the argument that Sazed should've told the Era 2 people if the others could be done while sleeping, but his philosophy was non-interference. He only told them that there were more metals, and even then was vague, so I can see him keeping some things from them to fuel a desire to experiment. Additionally, this only specifies "storing." I don't see any issue with metals being able to be tapped while sleeping, so long as the user knows how. TLR had more than enough time to experiment and practice. I can imagine him sleeping quite peacefully if he feels assured in his immortality. Regarding vulnerability, there are a few things he could do. Double up his Atium sleep tap with Gold too, as a failsafe. Pull a "do not disturb" and tap his Senseminds so that he could instantly tell if someone else was in the vicinity. Any sort of real wound is gonna wake him up, and once he's up, F-Zinc to clear head and F-Steel to wreck fools will rectify the situation. Regarding a God-like reputation, the man has been beheaded and lived. As Vin's attack(the Malatium attempt) shows, I don't think he cares for common or Mistborn assassins anymore. I think the only thing he really has to fear is an Inquisitor trying to spike him. He could just be a light sleeper and subvert this whole issue

Well, assuming that he actually is Taln(almost certainly is, but..) we should know him quite well in Book 7 or 9 when he's the flashback character. He might have proper flashbacks to the torture on Braize(since Brandon has said there will be scenes on Braize at some point, why not a flashback? That way he doesn't have to try and justify someone getting there for scenes)
-
He might allow legal loopholes, but "bending the law" seems like something he would take offense to. As to your actual suggestions, I don't think Amaram will because he's dishonorable. Hoid is uncertain because "reasons."

Unmaking the Canon - a resource for theorists
The One Who Connects replied to Extesian's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Mistpoint, and... gah i just saw it like 10 minutes ago. I'll edit in the other one in a moment. -
Raoden thinks it to himself after the battle. He's examining a Dakhor bone and makes the language connection.

I assume he is referring to the "we already know how Stormlight ends" bit from Brandon. His logic falters twice however. The first is that we know how Stormlight will end as in book 10, while he is talking about book 5. (Not too big of a deal, but a contradiction nonetheless) Secondly, this: While this does not refute the possibility of it ever happening, it absolutely shoots down your timeline guess of book 5. Odium will be alive and whole going into SA Book 6. As for how I would respond to your double shard guesses, I'd place Honor/Odium myself. Brandon has made reference to the two of them being a pair that could've happened had things been different, so i think that's where he might go with it. Short of killing odium, tempering him is the only real solution. Now, to respond to @Lord Maelstrom and the original topic: It's actually "Dominion," not Domination. There is a large enough difference between the terms that this distinction is mandatory. Benevolence is an interesting pick. Not the one I'd have gone with, but your logic is sound enough. Some other good ones have been Sovereignty and Guidance, so you've picked within the same vein. The Shard's consciousness was the Vessels themselves. Odium killed them and threw the power into the Cognitive so that it didn't gain sentience of its own. Per Annotations(I believe), the violent reactions between the two Intents/powers was keeping them from becoming sentient, which is why the CR is so dangerous. I am certain that Brandon has referred to the Dor as the only real example of a combined Shard other than Harmony, but that the Dor doesn't really count as a proper Shard. So you are more or less right about the melding now. We don't actually know if the CR on Sel ever becomes safe to travel through. Hoid has gone through it while it was unsafe, so we know it is possible. I am a huge proponent of it becoming safe sometime in the 1400-1700 years between Elantris and SA, but we can't say for certain that it does. While I like the comparison to Vin being melted away by the Mists, we know that the Dor wouldn't have done that to Raoden. Per Chap 49-2 Annotations Overall good theory, but needs some refining.

As whomever downvoted you likely thinks, a planet is an area of land. Case in point, "the martian landscape."

How are people already discussing Oathbringer
The One Who Connects replied to King Cole's question in Cosmere Q&A
All the sample chapters and scenes we have been given from signings, right here. -
Which two theories?
-
All the talk in the book is about the land around Elantris. However, all talk about the sentient landscape is outside of the book. Khriss pulls the planetary comparison, not other regions, but other planets. As I said earlier about face value, the face value of this is that the planet is becoming self-aware.

Wayne Swearing by The God Beyond?
The One Who Connects replied to King Cole's question in Cosmere Q&A
It's a belief that transcends planetary borders, and that's about all we know. From the coppermind: -
Pardon my bluntness, but I see nothing that implies what you seem to be thinking. And ninja'd by Extesian. I'm on a roll today
-
Not exactly. The quake causing the Reod was unnatural, but the magical strain was only part of what was going on. I feel that the strain is planet-wide, as the cognitive(where the Investiture is) is planet-wide. That strain only being part of it implies there was something else going on. Khriss only says that the "landscape" is becoming sentient, right after talking about the CR. I'm inclined to take that assumption at face value. And ninja'd by Striker

[OB] Larkin connected to Dysian?
The One Who Connects replied to Lightspine's topic in Stormlight Archive
The biggest issue is that while I can explain away almost all of this with simple logic and coincidences, but it almost seems too easy. The Larkin scrambling away when Kaza starts stirring is basic scavenger/animal behavior, like how birds often fly away if you move towards them. You make the coincidence point yourself, that he was on his way anyway. He could have seen her crawling and/or the Larkin scrambling away from where he was and came over. Point in favor is that Larkins are native to Aimia, which means he could have some sort of bond with it(like a pet and/or what Rysn may have with hers next time we see her) -
You are absolutely right that the recruitment scene is a very good opportunity for that, as Kelsier doesn't use much Rioting/Soothing before this scene happens. Vin does, but in a controlled setting with Kelsier, so it can be introduced and then explained not long after. I'm no musical expert, but can an effect be "mirrored?" Some sort of change to the pitch/intonation to differentiate between Rioting and Soothing the same emotion, where you can still tell it's the same, but different. It probably won't be necessary, but if you want to have a blanket theme for the sides of emotional Allomancy that they can use in Vin's early scenes(since she isn't hitting any particular emotions, I think) Something like this

He was familiar with the Rhythms? When did this happen? i wouldn't put it past myself to have missed it, but this seems like something that would be out of place enough to be overtly noticeable.
