She doesn't actually say that. All she says is that it is Allomantically "useless," which means it can't be burned. After all, Yomen gave her her silver coated earring back, which can be pushed.
-
Bad alloys were unhealthy to burn, and that connection probably stayed with the culture. I'd reckon "bad alloy" is Metalborn slang in more that just intel. "Bad alloy" could mean literal bad alloys, a trap, leading you astray, etc... In this specific instance: "trying to lead us to a bad alloy" would be like leading us to a trap. Like burning a bad alloy, walking into a trap is "not good" for your health, now is it?

Fair enough. Was a bit uncertain because of this WoB.

OP also mentioned that he wondered how TLR v Herald would go, and the convo was shifting more towards TLR, so my misunderstanding I guess. Elaborate, if you would. There aren't enough people who think the Heralds would win, and devils advocate isn't too good at making a solid argument. Besides, it breeds discussion.

I've actually never seen this one. You've got me curious about it now. Yes, it isn't actually a globe, but from the perspective of a person who doesn't understand these advanced shapes and things, it may as well be. You should check out page 2 of the thread I linked, as I get corrected on what "toroidal" actually means. -
The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon

Aon Ehe. I like this one. The fact that the bones should theoretically stay as they are has me thinking. There isn't anything magically preventing people from using the ChayShan movements, even if only a JinDo can utilize the magic. What would using ChayShan movements actually do while on another world? -
How Odium shatters other shards
The One Who Connects replied to Kedwin's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I can't find it either, but there's one that specifically says that Honor "co-opted" several things upon arrival, and that Surgebinding wasn't one of them. However, we do have this one. -
What have I done? All things considered, I love the support. Thought I was in the minority for liking Rysn for a while.
-
I'd like to get more of Rysn, as she's a bit of a personal favorite. I see it as somewhat unlikely for her to be the recurring Interlude PoV though, for now. We know she's got a Larkin, and we know Larkins are a stage in the life cycle of the Lanceryn, which is a essentially extinct Greatshell from Aimia. I imagine those take a long time to grow, say.. 15 years? My theory is this: She and her full-grown Lanceryn could be the recurring Interlude PoV in one of the back half books, and it'll be glorious. Well, he does get his own flashback book, probably book 7(in my guessing pattern) so he's definitely got some share of the main narrative later on.
-
I said it before and I'll say it again: Yes, TLR hard counters almost everything. But, he has gotten quite overconfident over the centuries, and rightfully so. I think several of us know that but we ignored it as, like with both Vin and Marsh, he has grown overconfident and wouldn't go full bore right away if he doesn't think he needs to. Once it becomes a proper fight, then sure. But until then, he's gonna hold back for no reason other than because he can. He wont win the second battle begins, foregone conclusion or not, unless he feels threatened enough to think that he needs to win immediately.

Come to think of it, I don't think Brandon has ever addressed this. I think he RAFO'd whether Vasher's lifeless Squirrel actually got a breath discount for being "close to life" I think there might be a small redux b/c people associate animals with life, but either way, much of the cost reduction this time was b/c the arrow-bird was made from bone.

Short answer: Spoilers Long answer: Like the chapter epigraphs in Final Empire and Well of Ascension, it'll make more sense by the time you finish the book. Edit for others seeing this topic: They said they are still reading, so do not even post it in spoiler tags until they say that they've finished the book.

Oh right, the aluminum foil hat concept but for Kandra. Forgot about that one. And I believe that it would, since the same works for steelpushing/ironpulling items in an aluminum box. From the May WoB roundup.

I posted both of them in this thread, and only found it because I remembered the discussion was with Marianmi. (Here's how I found the topic. Enjoy how horrendously bootleg it is.)

Stormform Parshendi were a large group of semi-disposable enemies, which by definition makes them mooks. The word Villain implies a higher standing than merely being on the bad guy's side. The Villains are usually the "big bad" type people. Eshonai(Stormform) would fit, Venli could fit, Odium certainly fits, etc..

The Sun Over Shadesmar
The One Who Connects replied to Paracosmic_nomenclator's topic in Cosmere Discussion
As was explained to me before, if you are using the CR to traverse the planet you are on, the CR is essentially a globe(minus most of the uninhabited areas) If you are attempting to cross over to another world, then edges "appear,"(because of cognitive perception) allowing you to go into the interplanetary section of the CR. Have a read. Enjoy the madness and confusion this topic induces. -
The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
The One Who Connects replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Calderis is essentially correct, but the question was originally about Forgery. Spoilered for size. Possibly. If it does, you will hardly notice. Reach the point where you enter Roshar's sea of beads, and the lesser gravity will be in the back of your mind. The heightened gravity on Sel might be more noticeable, but given the Investiture Storm it currently is, the gravity isn't your priority. The Vibrance on Nalthis will... etc... -

Selish Magic Systems
The One Who Connects replied to Chinsukolo's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
It's spiritual. As for your actual theory, I like it. For stamps that don't need to be reapplied, it makes sense. Biggest issue is the WoB Windrunner posted, because "get weaker" is vague enough to have multiple interpetations -
Hacking AonDor Magic
The One Who Connects replied to ILuvHats's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Here's a.. semi-related entry regarding Forgery and how it works. (for discussion value, might not be too relevant) -
Biggest issue I have with that is that the Korathi and Derethi teachings are offshoots of Shu-Keseg. If Shu-Keseg wasn't the origin point, then I could see the Seons/Skaze making them. I admit, they could have influenced the priesthood and created the schism between the two, but I don't really see either of them having a hand in crafting Shu-Keseg, which makes me quite curious about it... again.
-
There's the obvious "Odium didn't leave any power behind on Sel" entry, but I don't think that would completely contradict you. However, I do have this: If the splintering predates Shu-Keseg, then I don't see something used in said splintering becoming the enemy of the Derethi offshoot religion without there being a similar thing in Korathi teachings.
