  1. We are still greening votes out. There's just one player who, up until recently, had votes on two separate players with neither greened out. I'm just clarifying how I'll handle that situation. Which is: if a player has two votes, and neither is greened out, I will take the one that was placed first. So, if you want your vote not to be counted, green it out (preferably in a new post, not in the original one).
  2. The cycle ends in about 1 hour! Get your votes and actions in! Current Vote Tally: Mark IV (1): Araris Mailliw (1): Conquestor Amanuensis (3): Phattemer, Lopen, Elbereth Young Bard (2): Paranoid King, leiftinspace Nyali (1): Young Bard Trelagist (3): Nyali, DeathClutch, cloudjumper Deathclutch (1): Sheep Elbereth (1): Amanuensis Note: If you have multiple votes in red, I will count the first one recorded. If you want a later vote recorded, you have to green the first one out.
  3. Just a note here: it is not certain that Paalm was influenced by Autonomy. It could have been Odium or even a reforged dominion. Personally, I feel that Odium's influence is more likely than Autonomy's on Scadrial. That is tangential to your main point, which is that Autonomy, per se, doesn't seem to be present in the interactions of investiture on Taldain. This is something that we should keep an eye on. Another point to consider is this: Brandon didn't name the Shard until recently. When I got the name out of him at the Shadows of Self signing, he turned to Isaac(?) and asked if it was the name they had decided on. If Autonomy's intent wasn't decided at the time the book was written, then we shouldn't expect this version to be fully consistent. The graphic novel next month will be much more valuable in terms of deciding how Autonomy interacts on his Shardworld
  4. I've been thinking about this - the problem is that I don't know the whole situation. I'm not in the QF15 dead doc, so I don't know what's been said there. With that caveat, I will give since general guidelines: If you are playing this game, DO NOT reveal information about it in out of game docs, PMs, or in-person conversations. If you learn information such as roles or alignments in this game from an out of game source, DO NOT use it. This is called cheating, and people who do it should feel bad. If you set up a way of privately communicating about this game in an out of game doc or pm, you should not use it. This is also cheating. If you have insight from previous playstyles, earlier games, dead docs where people have discussed theory, what they would do if they had a certain role, and so on, this is fair game. It's part of our community meta, and, as Joe said, it's not fair to our players to expect then to try and ignore this row of information

  6. Day 1: Whispers on the Wind The wind was soft, almost intangible, as it flowed across the jungles of Nalthis. The city of Hallandren was sweltering under an oppressive heat, as the summer sun beat relentlessly down. The light fingers of air caressed sun-darkened cheeks and burned forearms as they passed, the meager relief was soon forgotten. But the breeze carried with it something intangible. A half-spoken, half-felt word that struck to the heart and bared the soul. Adonalsium. The stormlands of Roshar felt it next, the fury of the highstorms laying siege to the battered landscape. The stormfury roared aloud, and men cowered under a elemental force of nature, almost a god in itself. But in the midst of the sound and tumult, that name was shouted aloud to the remorseless sky. In the recesses of the city of Kharbranth, a broken man wrote incomprehensible words, shuddering. Adonalsium. The urbanites of Scadrial felt the stirring in the air, the sands of Taldain whipped in elusive patterns. The islands of First of the Sun voiced their restlessness and in the dim reaches of the uncharted Cosmere, the forgotten world of Yolen opened its mouth for the first time in eons. Adonalsium. The words reached a broken house on Sel, where a somber woman stood before a gravestone, as she had every year for time beyond counting. The words were worn by time and weather, but the name could still be made out, though only with difficulty. Wilkin. An old name, from another time. At the sound of the wind, she looked up in slight surprise. A thoughtful look crossed her face, briefly, before it settled back into its normal composure. Between that moment and the next, she was gone. -------------------------------------------- In the wake of the wind, a council chamber formed. Nowhere and everywhere at once, it was the meeting place for the gods of the Cosmere - the Shards of Adonalsium. Ten stood there, their faces and forms veiled behind their power. "He has returned, then?" The one who spoke held endless time in its voice - unchanging ages upon ages in glorious stasis. "He has. And he means to restore that which was Shattered." The voice was a riot of color, hues and shades swirling in its sounds. "This cannot be. It would undo so much of our work." The voice was kingly, but firm as iron. "Then it is agreed. He shall not succeed. Adonalsium must remain a memory only, if our works are to have any meaning." This voice crackled with the energy of chaos. One by one, the ten robed figures nodded their agreement, then vanished.
  7. Yep. Young Bard already linked to it. If you hurry, you can still get signed up! An hour and a half left until your chance at Shardic power closes!
  8. I can see where this is headed, and I'm going to head it off right now. I'll reserve your pink, DeathClutch, since you've already asked. But I'm going to publicly announce that I'm not going to take any more requests for color reservations in docs. (And I won't in future games, either, unless there's good reason) Other than that, an hour and a half until signups end!
  9. Gotta be today then. Happy birthday, silverblade!
  10. Oh come on, Joe, it would be fun Also, reading through the thread, I noticed that I missed answering one of Nyali's questions. "What happens if Odium attacks a Shardholder protected by the Lifeless Commander?" This is actually write an important question: if Odium attacks a Shardholder protected by the Lifeless Commander, the Shard is Shattered, but the player survives, and becomes the holder of the Shattered Shard.
