  1. Day 4: The Eye of the Storm The little boat that had carried Gon Freecs finally came to harbor on a calm sea, under an empty sky. Its tattered rigging and splintered masts testified to the power of the storm that had sent it racing before, but it had survived. It was preserved. All across the Cosmere, mortals awoke to find that nothing had changed from the day before. The power of Preservation seeped across the universe, binding routines and cementing choices. For one brief, glorious moment, like that tattered little boat, everything had been Preserved. No one died! Ultimate Preservation has been used! All votes and actions submitted after it was used are cancelled. Any items used are not consumed. If you do not receive a PM from me telling you that your actions were successful, they were cancelled. Ultimate Preservation lasts for 72 hours (or one Day and one Night from when it was used). It will be lifted at the exact time on Night 4 that it was activated. However, because all actions, votes, etc. on Day 4 will be cancelled, I intend to shorten Day 4 to 24 hours instead of 48. (This will affect the duration of Ultimate Preservation. It will be ended at the same time on Night 4 regardless of whether the Day turn is 24 hours or 48 hours). If you would like the Day to be 48 hours instead of the normal 24, please tell me in your PM with me. If more than one person requests it, the Day will run for its normal time. If it is extended to 48 hours, I will announce it as soon as a second person requests it in their PM. I will not count requests made in the thread.

  3. Night 3: A Stick on the Sea Gon Freecs was boating in a brilliant ocean when he received the news. The letter had come to him, passed straight through the Cognitive Realm. Mr. Freecs, you are charged with treason to the Shardic Coalition. Your punishment will be administered to you at exactly two minutes past noon. It was the event he'd been dreading for weeks, ever since his Aviar disappeared. He looked at the sun. Almost high noon. Was it enough time to get away? He turned the boat around, aiming towards the near shore. He had almost reached it when the power struck, ripping a hole in reality exactly around him, transporting him bodily to the great Beyond. ---------------------------------------------------- It was early in the morning when Kelen awoke on Scadrial. He had been there for some time now, arriving accidentally after his first foray into Shadesmar. Mist had accompanied him of course, and was at this moment hovering above him, apparently waiting for him to wake. She followed him around his routine in the morning, getting out of bed. Stick. He quickly dressed in his clothes, his brilliant white hair contrasting the dark clothing he wore to avoid ash stains. Storm this planet and its storming ash. Storming annoying, it was. Stick. His breakfast had already been prepared for him when he arrived in the dining room, made by the cooks and served by the servants of the man whose house he was currently lodging in. It was a Noble's meal of course, Kelen expected nothing less, especially given his lighteyes heritage, and high dahn, though the people here didn't quite seem to understand how important that made him. Stick. He enjoyed the meal regardless though, it was well made, if anything. After the meal, he left the house, about to go about his daily business. Yet on the steps, it struck him. He was a Stick. Assuming his true role, he lay down, and then promptly vanished. Gon Freecs (DeathClutch) was lynched. He was a Worldhopper! Kelen Taldar (AliasSheep) was killed. He was Hoid, the Stick, and the Scapegoat! Vote Tally: Deathclutch(12): Nyali, Conquestor, Lopen, AliasSheep, Araris, Leif, The Young Bard, Alvron, Mark, Amanuensis, Arrenae, Deathclutch Mailliw(1): Mailliw Thanks to AliasSheep for writing his own death sequence. Day 3 is over! Night 3 will last 24 hours.
  4. My upcoming MR game will feature a similar mechanic, except for everyone
  5. I realize that this is inconvenient for everyone, but I've had things come up that make it so I can't realistically handle rollover tonight. Honestly, the next time I'm going to be able to be here long enough to rollover the cycle is when the next rollover would have been. So - this cycle is extended for 37 hours. My apologies for the inconvenience. If I have missed any questions, go ahead and re-ask them in the PM. I will try to be in enough before then to answer any questions posed to me.
  6. Just a note: I appear to have given contradictory clarifications about what happens if Odium shatters the other 9 Shards. This is now the official response. All others are no longer valid (if they are the same, then of course, it doesn't matter). If Odium shatters all the other Shards, then his primary win condition is met. He has won the game. However, the game is not over. He still has a secondary win condition to pursue, after all.
  7. Gilligan's Island
  8. I'd like to be added back on the LG and MR GM lists, please.
  9. When he actually dies. Also - clarifications: The rules say that the Outed player has their role revealed in thread. This is a typo - it should read "role and alignment" A Poisoner who poisons a target does not lose their poison vial unless the target is protected or they die and activate the poison. If the Poisoner's target dies by other means, their poison vial is returned. This is a symmetry ruling - no other minor roles lose their items unless they actually use their abilities. This puts the Poisoner on the same footing.

  11. Day 3: Ruin in the Storm Ruin laughed with the power of the tempest that surged over Scadrial. The storm was an expression of his power, and none could stop him. Passing over the southern continent, the storm whipped coastal waves into a frenzy, and trees bent flat with the wind of his passing. Mortals took shelter against the power of the storm, all except one small group. They stood in a ring of calm air. Investiture, from another Shardworld, kept the storm at bay. Curious, Ruin alighted on the ground. Who were these mortals who defied his power? As he walked towards the defiant humans, something struck his back. A sword that leaked black smoke. A voice echoed in his mind. I get to destroy some evil today! Its glee was palpable. His last thoughts, as his Shard released from him in a spray of dark smoke, were plain surprise. How had the madman discovered how to kill a Shard? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Par Degaton sat quietly in his hideout, watching his mark. He almost had enough evidence, he was certain. Just a little more, and he would know for sure. Amanuensis exited the shop across the street, holding a vial of something dark. An apothecary's shop. Could have been any number of innocent purchases. But Par Degaton knew otherwise. His lists of notes and endless hours of observations pointed to only one conclusion. Aman was buying poison on the orders of Hoid. Writing a final note in his file, he rose to his feet. Time to confront the traitor worldhopper. Drawing a sword, he stepped from his alley and shouted a challenge in his loudest voice, so everyone in the street could hear. He knew the other worldhoppers would have their eyes and ears nearby. The crossbow bolt took him in the throat. Wooden, of course, though he was no Metalborn. It made sense, he realized, as his sword clattered to the cobblestones. Once revealed in public, Aman would have no compunctions against removing his threat. Pity he hadn't thought of that sooner. Brian (Paranoid King) was killed. He was a Vessel holding the Shard of Ruin, and the Scapegoat Par Degaton (Master Elodin) was killed. He was a Vessel, and the Suicidal Analyst. Amanuensis (Amanuensis) has been Outed! He is a Poisoner aligned with the 17th Shard. Day 3 has begun, and will end in 48 hours!

  13. Night 2: A Tempest of Colors Though the storm across Hallandren did not approach the power of one of the highstorms of Roshar, it was still stronger than any the city of the God-king had seen in decades. Roof tiles were torn and sent flying through the air, waves taller than the city walls swamped the docks, and wind ripped up trees by their roots. The destruction was tremendous, leaving many dead and still more mourning. But amid the devastation, there was reason for rejoicing. Fully twelve new gods were born that night, raised from the most exemplary of the many heroes of the evening. Endowment, it seemed, smiled upon Hallandren. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nijza floated on a sea of colors. Her passing had been painful, but she was now at peace. She could feel the pull of another realm, calling to her, but she paused for long enough to revel in the absence of pain. Odium had not been kind. After what seemed like an eternity, she pulled her focus to her surroundings. She did not recognize the Shardworld turning beneath her, but she could feel its Investiture. Endowment. Starting awake, she looked around. The Vessel stood before her, human in form, gender veiled. "What do you want of me?" Her voice was confident. After all, hadn't she held a fragment of the power of God, every bit as powerful as the one before her? "Nothing. Nothing but what you want, Nijza." "And what gives you this special insight into what I want, Vessel?" Endowment laughed, the sound silky. "I claim no special insight, Nijza. Only an offer. There is much work still to be done down there." Nijza raised what would have been her eyebrows had she had a physical form. "Indeed?" "You know as well as I do what is at stake. Return, and you can help. Pass on, and you leave all of your responsibilities to us." Nijza shook her head slowly. "Very well, then, Vessel. As you wish." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The back streets of Elendel were a rough, lawless place, but Nila Hamming knew them well enough. Well enough to keep out of trouble, and well enough to find it when she looked for it. Tonight, she was looking for it. She had heard the rumors over the past few months, and knew that the worldhoppers were growing increasingly displeased with her. Some were even accusing her of being the Wanderer in disguise, as if such a thing could possibly be believed. As she crept closer, she could hear the angry voices in the tavern, calling for volunteers to go find her and kill her. Another voice shouted back, claiming that Amanuensis was far more clearly a follower of the madman than Nila. What sounded like a beautiful tavern brawl began, and Nila was sorely tempted to join in. But tonight, discretion seemed the better part of valor, and she slipped silently away. Nijza (Nyali) has been Returned! No one was lynched! Vote Tally: Aman(5): Sheep, Arraenae, Joe, Maill, Deathclutch Arraenae(5): The Young Bard, Elodin, leiftinspace, Mark, Lopen Joe(1): PK Mark(1): Araris Haelbarde(1): Haelbarde Day 2 is over. Night 2 has begun, and will end in 24 hours!
