Honestly think you're misreading the question. Mail asked if the Corrupted get a doc with Fain. The darkfriends certainly don't share a doc with Fain or the Corrupted. I believe, based on my reading of the rules, that the corrupted and Fain have their own doc.
-
Aman and others, I don't blame you for being suspicious of me. Were our situations reversed, I would be suspicious of me too. I thought I was trying to save an innocent villager from a lynch manipulated by the darkfriends. It turns out that I was one of the ones manipulated. That and I allowed meta's playstyle to make me suspicious of him. I thought I was past seeing differences in playstyle as suspicious, but apparently not. I'll work on that. All I can say is I'm sorry. And I'll try to do better in the future at not being manipulated. Moving on, my strongest suspicion as a Darkfriend right now is probably Elodin. His rapid vote changes are very suspect in my mind. I have no leads on Padan Fain, though.
-
Well, I stand by my statement that if Sart was a Darkfriend, that would soft-clear Wilson and Meta in my eyes. (To heck with keeping up with RP names - I can't keep track of both of them...) That was an amazing stroke of luck! Also makes me think that my gut is a Darkfriend (to use a phrase I haven't heard around here for a long time). I should have kept my vote where it was - moving it made that lynch almost not happen. Sorry about that, guys - I Now time to analyze connections To answer Wilson's question to Mail: I think not. I really don't think any smart Eliminator team would throw their most powerful role under the bus like that. No amount of extra trust would be worth sacrificing that extra kill per night! And you're not the only one with a target, Winter. I'm on that list, along with Orlok, Maill and Aman. Probably others - I'm not doing a comprehensive list in favor of actually posting this in a reasonable time. I wonder how much of that was desperation on the part of an eliminator team, and how much of it was innocent opposition to a seemingly unreasonable lynch? Also - I fully admit that I was wrong. Holy crap, was I wrong. I'm going to go back over the last few hours of this lynch to see what connections I can find.
-
I did. I noted the time in my edit, as well, so Gamma can choose to count it or not at his leisure.
-
And I think I need to go change my vote on Strawman. If he's roleclaimed scanner, that's enough for me to move my vote. EDIT: Crap. Too late.

Watching that exchange between Amaiya (Mailliw) and Mezal (Meta) has made me even more uncomfortable with this lynch. Mezal, you responded to the points I brought against you, and that allayed my fears about your alignment because village discussion didn't stifle as a result of your vote. But watching the misrepresentations of both my comments and Amaiya's responses has me convinced that this lynch is being manipulated. The arguments against Sarah are the weakest I've seen in a Day 1 lynch since the Ripple Effect fiasco. And notwithstanding it all, Sarah is the lynch target. The discussion has trended in such a way that Sarah seems the most obvious lynch pick for even someone (like Orlok or myself) who is not convinced of Sarah's guilt, just because of the information that could be gained. But I've gone back and looked over the votes. Kelend and Meta are both voting on Sarah because of the very first post. Neither of them have responded to Sarah's most recent post. Lomion and myself both voted on Sarah because we felt that it would bring the village the most information, even if we didn't think that Sarah deserved it. That's a cold-blooded calculation that I hate even having to make (part of the reason I'm doing this is because I feel uncomfortable making that calculation). I feel that my vote was justified at the time. But now I'm not so sure. Lomion did it shortly before she would be gone for the rest of the cycle - a reasonable choice then. Gladium was a pure bandwagon - there's no reasoning provided and no point to it. At this point, I'm not biting. Something's wrong with this lynch - I'm not going to be a party to it. Gladium. He's the next best choice - his pure bandwagoning is something I want to put pressure on him for. There's still an hour left in the cycle. I'll be on again before rollover to see how things stand, to break ties if I think they need to be broken, or to make a tie if I think that the village will be best served by a no-lynch after reading the discussion. EDIT: Full disclosure, I removed this vote at 7:03. If that doesn't count as being removed, that's ok.

You have enough roads with bike lanes that cyclists can actually use them to get somewhere? Seriously, my city has exactly zero bike lanes. If I want to ride my bike legally (ie - not on the sidewalk) I have to ride in the road. And if I want to make a legal left turn, I have to get into the left turn lane, with all of the attendant joy and delight that brings. So I guess that makes my pet peeve not having bike lanes.
-
Sorry to confuse you - I think my typing had a fail in there (should have been a question mark in there after elaborate). Just asking you to elaborate on your bad feeling about this, noting that you and I might be seeing the same thing and that if we talk it out, we might figure out what feels so off. And asking Wilson if she had any thoughts.
-
Honestly, I'm only voting because the information (including connections to other people based on who's attacked and who's defended Sarah) from Sarah's lynch seems like the best outcome for today. I'm more than happy to vote and argue for a better candidate, because I sure as heck don't think Sarah's a good one, but I don't have one at the moment. If you have any suspicions for the thread, I'd love to hear them.
-
Okay, guys, now this is what we call a bandwagon. A pair of votes just to solidify a lynch, towards the end of a cycle...in a game where the only vote manipulation ability is the Mayor, and the current mayor-elect is voting for the lynch target? I am becoming increasingly uncomfortable about this. My vote stays for now, but I want to register my discontent. Something is off about this whole day. Amaiya (Mailliw), care to elaborate. You see it too. Maybe if we put our guts together, we can figure it out. Kelend (Wilson), any thoughts?

Quick Fix Game 16: The Shades of Threnody

Alright, there is a whole lot for me to respond to. I was out most of the night last night - my apologies, but I had a date with my wife, and that was just a little more important than SE. You can all lynch me for heresy if you like Actually, much more has happened than I have time to respond to. So I'll hit the two salient points: Mezal and Sarah. (I like the trend of addressing characters instead of players - I think I'll keep it up; as much as I can, at least). Mezal, my concerns about discussion have not played out. I am glad about that - glad that this didn't turn quickly into a bandwagon on Sart (and for something stupid too - this rivals the Ripple Effect, in my opinion) that stifled discussion elsewhere. In fact, we have had an excellent lynch discussion today. My concerns on that front are completely alleviated. I didn't realize that you have been so concerned about the current meta - that background information makes your actions seem much more reasonable. I hope that you can see why I would be worried, at least at the time. It looked like something that was reasonable grounds for suspicion, and certainly something that was worth bringing up. Now, with regards to the actual lynch discussion. Well, actually, with regards to the Sarah discussion, because that's the only lynch discussion we've had. Nobody else has been considered as an actual candidate. Personally, we have had the best Day 1 discussion I've seen in recent games. I don't think Sarah has been suspicious enough to lynch as a possible Darkfriend, and I'd rather not lynch him because of his response to the meta he was used to. I feel that Orlok, Elbereth, and Twei have all been convincing in presenting defenses there. But, finding out his alignment will be the most useful thing that this day could end up with, just because of the insight it will give us into the other players and the way that they have defended or attacked him. In particular, if Sarah is evil, than this will soft-clear Meta and Wilson, and that's a huge benefit to the village. I feel like a jerk for doing this, but Sarah. EDIT: I was going to remove my vote on Conquestor here, but I just remembered that Gamma asked us to do it in the original post. So I'm removing it there.

That's a fair point you make, Araris, but it misses the point of my objection. Sure, lynching is done by placing multiple votes on a player. But putting multiple votes in quick succession on a player is called bandwagoning, and is perceived to be a common Eliminator tool. It wasn't the second vote I was concerned about, it was that the second vote came so quickly after the first. If the village decides too quickly on a lynch target, it stifles discussion in the same ways that the Day 1 Lynch discussion does. If you already know who you are going to lynch, why say anything? If a palyer knows that they won't get lynched, why should they answer any questions that are asked? The discussion loses its teeth if someone is up for the lynch by a large margin just as surely as if the village decides not to lynch at all in a cycle. I've seen it before time and again - most often when an Eliminator is found via scanning, but bandwagoning can happen in a number of situations. And almost every time a bandwagon happens - even when it's on a known Eliminator! - the village learns next to nothing because the discussion was stunted. Now, of course, I could have said that clearer, but I was at work and on mobile, so my ability to respond was limited. Sorry. And, of course, Meta's second vote hasn't turned into a bandwagon. But at the time, with the votes coming within two hours of each other at the very beginning of the first cycle, it seemed a legitimate concern. And I would still like a response from him - if I want the Village lynch to have teeth, I have to make sure that my vote has teeth too.
-
While I share Wilson's concern about Sarah, I can't be so sanguine as she is towards Meta. Meta's very quick jump towards placing a second vote on Sarah so early in the cycle is suspicious to me. Not extremely suspicious, but it feels off to me. I don't think a smart eliminator would do what he did, which means that is entirely possible that a very smart eliminator would do so.
-
Wilson, you beat me to it there. And even linked Kas' post. (It's seriously the best thing on the subject I've ever read. I was sad when I saw you beat me there) Since you've already voted for him, I'm just going to note my concern about Sart's comments. That's not a productive line of conversation; we've hashed that out so often that there's nothing new or interesting to say about it. In the interest of generating discussion, I'm going to vote on conquestor. What do you have to say today? EDIT: Removed vote

That is correct - I didn't add your final puppetmaster to the player list. Technically, Aman ended the game as a Worldhopper, and conquestor was also a Poisoner and an outed player, in addition to being the champion of Honor, Champion of Odium, and holding the Shattered Shard of Honor. Also, conquestor had a temporary Mistborn role from endowment.

Aftermath The council was in an uproar after Hadrian Penrod was found dead, accusations flying everywhere. In the midst of the heated discussions, Dominion returned to the chamber with Second of the Sky in tow. The room went very still. In the sudden silence, all eyes found the Lord of Hate. His power was no longer veiled, and it could be clearly seen through the slight worldhopper's form he had taken. Into the stillness, Dominion spoke in a resonant voice. "I have found the traitor, and he is one of us!" Immediately, there was a unanimous chorus of assent from the diminished body. As they prepared to unleash their power on the murderer, a mocking laugh came from the chamber's entrance. Amanuensis stood there, slowly walking down the aisle. "I didn't think you'd manage to find him. Well done, really. And thanks to you too, my lord. You have kept them distracted just long enough." With a snarl, Odium turned to the assembled Shards. "You will waste your time with me when this madman openly declares his allegiance to the Wanderer? He will have us all unmade!" Dominion responded sternly. "Hoid is dead, at his own hand. We all saw the body. His followers can do nothing. You, however, have murdered two Vessels and attempted the murder of more. We will deal with this now." But before he had finished, the room had erupted into confusion once more. As the shouting voices appeared to come around to disposing of Amanuensis, Dominion looked at the 17th Sharder. "Now?" Amanuensis nodded. "Now." With a rush of power, Dominion quieted the room. As the noise ended, Dominion's veil dropped, revealing the form of Bernte Ghetti. Ruin crackled at her fingertips, and she smiled cruelly. Aman walked towards Endowment, smiling. Over his shoulder, he called to Bernte. "You know, my dear, I would personally rather kill Left of Space." Nila Hamming breezed past them, a mallet cradled in her hand. "I've always wanted to try and steal a Shard with a spike. I wonder if it's possible." Ruin's power crackled, but Left of Space withstood it, his face grim. "It will take more than that to end two Shards!" A red bolt of lightning crackled across the room, striking Left of Space in the back. He fell with a cry of pain, and was still. Aman wheeled on Odium. "What did you do that for?" He yelled, anger rising. "I was bored," Second of the Sky replied calmly. "Besides, he had something I wanted." A book had fallen next to the cooling body. Aman strode forward and picked it up. "Shadows of Self?" He asked, opening the book to the first page, where a hastily scribbled signature stood next to the number 4. "Is this some sort of lame fantasy novel or something?" "Call it...nostalgia. And, now that I have your attention..." Odium gestured, and a twin pair of cracks erupted from behind, as the coalescing Shards of Endowment and Devotion Shattered. The broken power evaporated quickly, spreading out into nothingness. "No!" Nila screamed, lunging at Odium with a spike in her hand. But the robed Shard vanished into shadow, his parting words ringing in the air. "I will see you again shortly..." Gorl rushed into the room, a bag of sand clutched in his right hand. "I'm here! What did I miss?" Bernte sighed. "Nothing important, just Odium destroying any chance of our reforging Adonalsium. In this lifetime, at least." Aman looked at her strangely. "Who said we were going to try anything like that?" Nila walked up the the pair. "Umm...it was all in the packet we got sent. You know, the one from Hoid?" "Last I checked, he was dead. And we hold nearly a quarter of the power that created the Cosmere. Why tie ourselves down to the schemes of a man who couldn't even keep himself alive?" A slow smile spread across their faces as he talked. With power like that, what couldn't they do? ---------------------------------------------------- In a far-off corner of the Cosmere, the Brightness Ascendant turned to the man seated at her right side. "I told you that sending a kandra to impersonate yourself was an...unwise idea." "Well, not everything can turn out as I planned." The nondescript man turned a steel and gold crown over and over in his hands. "You realize that now we are going to have to do this all over again?" "We shall see, Kiireon. We shall see." Sheon Idris turned his attention back to the council chamber, and contemplated God.
