  1. And here I was getting excited about there being a 2nd Noble Artifabrian because it meant I could take Wilson out of the heavy suspicion zone. I wonder what made both yaf and Luna so sure she's evil. I feel like if they had strong evidence, they'd point it out in their DC. Or have given it to someone else to reveal if they died.
  2. Thank you, Elbereth. I was waiting to see if you would reveal to the thread. Don't know why you wouldn't, but it's another piece of info to define parameters here. This means that we very likely (assuming nobody's lying about their item being 1-turn only) have 2 artifabrians - due to the 2-turn cooldown, Wilson's and Elb's spanreeds can't be from the same person. We might have 3, but I'm not sure how I feel about that speculation yet. We know (up to reasonable doubt - there could be a massive conspiracy between Nyali, Trel, Orlok, and others to claim that Orlok's artifabrian action got redirected to Trel when in fact Trel had a grandbow of his own, but that seems extremely far-fetched to me) that Elbereth didn't receive her spanreed from Orlok, as Trel got a Grandbow from Orlok that cycle. It is also absolutely certain (unless Elb or Wilson was lying about the Spanreed being only one cycle - and closed all of the PMs to make it look like it was) that Wilson got her spanreed from a different Artifabrian than Elbereth. At the moment, Orlok's T1 item creation is unaccounted for. It could have been Wilson's spanreed. Or else we have 3 (or more) artifabrians. I'd like to see other players come forward if they received an item on N1 or N2 to clear this point up. From my perspective, it doesn't seem like a great risk - the items have all passed out of the game by now, so I can't see any incentive to hide them. I will leave the analysis of whether giving Wilson a spanreed is a reasonable thing to expect from Orlok - given our available information - and whether or not this indicates Wilson's guilt, or is instead a sign of a complicated ploy to try and get an innocent villager lynched, to somebody who has more time than I do to spend on this stuff. I need to go back to my homework now. Thanks for letting us know. Obviously, she didn't die. Since she hasn't come forward about it (and has had a great deal of opportunity to, and no reason not to), I expect that somebody protected her with a Painrial last night. I would appreciate if the person who did that did not reveal that to the thread, though. The last thing we need is to lose a protection item while it is charging.
  3. Makes sense. Sorry about the false start - I thought I was getting somewhere in organizing my suspicion-space. (I'm glad you liked the quantum joke, Elb!) I've gotten sidetracked onto this Artifabrian analysis. I might be barking up the wrong tree, but I'd really like to know if anyone else received anything N1, when Wilson got the Spanreed. Or if anyone else has received anything at all on any other cycle, because if Orlok was the only Artifabrian, that's important information to apply for village analysis. Also, there are apparently two Soulcasters out there, because both Orlok and Joe had their actions redirected on the same night. I would suspect that whoever redirected Joe's attack was an Eliminator. (Especially because whoever redirected Orlok is pretty darn close to hard-cleared). In fact, I strongly believe that the events of last night indicate beyond reasonable doubt that the Ghostbloods have acquired the Soulcaster formerly owned by Eobard, since I don't think that they would start out halfway to their win condition. Also, Trelagist, I'd like to know who you attacked and why you did it. And if you aren't willing to tell, I'd like to know why you aren't. EDIT: Since I was ninja'ed by yafe's death cry. Joe's death cry clears up where Wilson got her spanreed from. Though it certainly doesn't clear her by any means. Elbereth I've already been suspicious of, and have nothing new to say. Nyali really is giving me a town read, but I'm not willing to bet my life on it. Lopen I couldn't say either way. DC and zas aren't giving me any sorts of reads at present. I wish I could know the reasoning here first.
  4. Nyali - I might have missed this in earlier days of discussion; sorry, I'm still trying to catch up. How did you know that Trelagist had the Grandbow? You also imply that Orlok made the Grandbow for him. Since I last posted, I have been wondering quite a bit about Orlok's item creations. If Nyali's implication is correct, I would be quite suspicious of Trelagist - I can't imagine any reason for Orlok to give a kill role to a non-Eliminator unless you were really worried about the Eliminator he gave it to being scanned. And Trelagist - as a pretty new player - seems an excellent choice to avoid being scanned. Low-profile, in a game with Wilson, Alvron, Kasimir, Joe, and a number of other high-profile and well-known players... Almost enough to make me vote for you, Trell. I'll wait to see Nyali's evidence, though. I'd like to see if there's an alternative to you getting a Grandbow from Orlok. My next question is this - the night before Orlok would have made the Grandbow, Wilson got a one-turn Spanreed. This was too early for her to have been a thief stealing it, so it must have been made for her by an Artifabrian. Orlok wouldn't have thought that he'd be revealed so soon, and to my knowledge we don't have anyone else publicly claiming to have received an item from an Artifabrian on any other turn. So, we don't have any justification for believing that there is more than one Artifabrian (at least, not yet - if anyone wants to come forward and admit that they received an item from an Artifabrian on either night, then we could change that). If there is a second Artifabrian, they are almost certainly cleared, though. I really can't imagine this game being balanced if the Eliminators have access to two roles that could create new kills for them, in addition to the troll potential. With Knowing Maill's trollishness, I'm certainly willing to believe that the Eliminators had the only Artifabrian. Which could put suspicion on Wilson for receiving the Spanreed. Also, thanks Lopen for responding. I don't have anything hard on anyone else. I'd like to see Wilson's (and everyone else's) thoughts on the Artifabrian situation, and I'd like to see if anyone else has received an Artifabrian item.
  5. Alright. I'm still not done with my assignments, but I'm much closer. And it's progressing long enough in the game that I can't stay inactive. I'm still going to be sporadic in my activity, but I'm not totally inactive anymore. I haven't had much of a chance to do a lot of analysis, but Wilson is sticking out to me as someone to be wary of. (That might just be my paranoia speaking, though. I have a natural bias towards trusting Wilson, so I try to counteract that. Most of the time, I end up with no read on her whatsoever. So I end up trusting her while being irrationally paranoid that I'm wrong. Hasn't saved my life yet, but I fully expect it to eventually.) It should be noted that I'm not making an accusation or even a statement of suspicion here - just noting that she's very experienced and good at being both an Eliminator and a villager. If she's with us, she's a hugely valuable asset. If she's a Ghostblood, we need her gone post-haste. I'd like to have her thoughts on why Joe trusted her. Elbereth is also putting up red flags to my instincts - I'll try to go through her posts and see why that might be - this could just be nothing useful, just quantum fluctuations in my suspicion-space. It might be something more. I'll come back to this later and see if I have anything substantive, or if this should be flagged as a false positive on my readings. I lean towards trusting Nyali - though I'm not 100% on that. She seems to have been taking a large part in early attempts to get inactive players speaking - this behavior benefits the village more often than the Eliminators (though it could easily be a ploy to gain trust). I have no read on Stink - I can't tell the difference between helpful!Stink, troll!Stink, eliminator!Stink, and any other kind of Stink that comes up. Alvron I'm leaning towards good, but my paranoia is striking rather hard here too. He's another one who we really can't afford to be wrong about. Right now, I'm going to put some pressure on Lopen. Why did Joe say not to trust you? Also - you Ghostbloods are jerks. You killed my scribe before I could even have a chance to roleplay with her! I'm going to do a grand eulogy for her. If I ever have the time. That's all I've got. I will try to be more helpful now that I'm semi-back, but I make no promises.
  6. So I'll be GMing the next LG. It will be run as a sequel to LG14 - To Shatter a Shard. The rules can be found here. I'd like comments on the balance (especially from Joe) - I'm most worried about the fact that there are 7 safe roles. I've built measures in to try and counter that, but I don't know if it's enough. So, 7 of the 10 Shards are safe roles (it's kind of the point of the story). But, Hoid (and therefore the whole Eliminator team) has the names of all of the Shards. This is an incentive for Shards to pass their Shards, because they are going to be attacked by Hoid and his team - especially because if the 17th Shard kills them, they can take the Shard away. The end result is that, though the original holders of these 7 shards are guaranteed safe, there is no way to make certain that anyone who holds one of these Shards is the original holder. My hope is that this is enough uncertainty to offset the safe roles. Thoughts?
  7. I hate my life right now. In a week, it will all be fine, but right now, I hate it all! Braize take my lab class!
  8. Thank you, Kas and Wilson, for responding. I'm just going to post because I have remembered that Alvron is in this game - and that means I am at high risk of dying for inactivity (either by him getting a kill action and using it on me, or by him convincing someone with a kill action to take out inactives). It's legitimate inactivity - I have 3 lab reports to do before Friday, and an Arabic portfolio over the weekend. After that, it's just final exams though, and that's cake. I should be able to participate meaningfully on Monday. I really didn't intend to say anything until I could really contribute, but I saw my name voted on (and then retracted - thank you, Nyali) and realized I probably ought to reiterate why I'm not here, and when I'll be back. I signed up for this for a number of reasons - mostly involving seeing both Kas and Wilson coming back to a game. And this being Mail's last game as a GM. And feeling like I've been away from SE for too long. Mostly, it was because the game started just before I actually started having time to participate. So I decided to join and be inactive until I finished my lab reports. This is a longer post than I expected. I'm not going to vote, because any vote on my part at this point would be done at random, because I haven't been able to analyze anything, and that wouldn't be helpful (from my perspective, a villager voting with no reasons is as bad, or worse than, a villager doing nothing at all. A random, pointless vote can give the Eliminators an edge in the voting process if they want to take it). Come Monday, though, I'll be reading over the thread and getting a read on everyone who's left.
  9. So, for my Arabic class, I had to write a short story. Me being me, I decided to set it in Edassa. I post it here for your delight. And, for you Phillistines who can't read Arabic, here is the translation. Enjoy!
  10. I bestow upon you the wit of Hoid. Not that you'll need it, being the essence of Parodium and all, but every little bit helps, right?
  11. I am now finished with my senior project! Now I just have lab reports and Arabic homework...
  12. So, tomorrow I officially present my senior research project for physics. Anybody in the Logan, UT area should drop by the USU library at 10:30, looking for a poster on wormholes. Here's hoping it goes well.
  13. So - the quoting function is being stupid and not letting me quote your math problem, but I actually quite like it. All the numbers are nice and round, there are no decimals, and I don't have to deal with tensor calculus. Can I switch math classes with you?
  14. And it's working again... Either good and fast work, or random fluke. Either way, thanks for looking into it.
