You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Kobold King replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
"How dare you use the name of the Bandersnatch in vain!" "Uh... what?" "I am offend! I am offend!" "Dude, seriously. Chill." -
I know just what you mean. To be honest, I've put more thought into the characters who'll kick the bucket before the RP's end then to the characters who'll have happy endings. Characters like Sam, though, I definitely want to smuggle out of the state alive. And I suppose there are always sweet and happy alternate endings for the WHOOC thread. Or dark and horrific alternate endings, depending on your mood. Nice! Waaay more fitting than the multiple horrible drafts I had for your pony, which I am discreetly deleting from my desktop momentarily. The new creator doesn't support cutie marks, but if you have a working knowledge of Microsoft Paint you might be able to paste one into the image. I've never performed that particular operation before, but it's sound in theory. Also, that's an excellent post, Voidus.

Duly noted. (I wasn't trying to wheedle undue information out of you in earnest, by the way. Just in case I came across as way more corrupt than I intended. ) ...maybe? His PoV was added without much thought into such measly details.

Darn. I suppose your integrity prevents you from accepting pug pictures to loosen your tongue? Looking forward to it. I don't have any spare characters in Portland. Unless you count Chicago Joe, but he'd be most likely to sleep through an Epic attack than to participate in it.

And it's awesome. Though I'm curious/confused--Quota senses two Epics there at the end. The first is obviously Funtimes, with the reference to artificially sweetened brownies, but who's the one that's emitting aggression but no joy? You realize most of the people here read Way of Kings, and those who haven't are eagerly awaiting to do so, right? Long works of quality writing don't intimidate us.

The '80s ponified. As far as '80s songs, am I the only one who still listens to "Another One Bites the Dust" whenever there's a new CorpseMaker segment?

According to the Babylonians, humanity learned the ways of civilization from a guy in a giant fish costume. Oannes was a lot cooler when I thought he might have been an alien. :|

Sweet. Ever thought about posting some of this story on Creator's Corner?

Though if I can choose any weapon I want, I'd never underestimate the value of a stockpile of tactical ICBMs. I bet even Steelheart would be willing to negotiate over trade if you can threaten to blow up his city or knock out his electronics infrastructure with an EMP.

Perhaps I should clarify my purpose in posting--this isn't so much a "look at this cool show we should all watch" post and more of a "hey, when you squint real hard at this ad on YouTube it almost looks like something that isn't 100% different from the Reckonerverse." Though there is an interesting discussion to be had about a clever deconstruction like Steelheart versus a deconstruction that serves no other purpose than to scream 'LOOK AT ME I'M GRITTY.'

That's about the conclusion I came to too--it doesn't really look like the sort of show I'd be interested in watching. Still though. If edgy deconstructions of superhero mythos become popular, maybe we can get a Reckoners film at some point.

Definitely a gun, were I a vanilla or low-powered Epic. If I had a prime invincibility though, I'd wield a sword in a heartbeat. I wouldn't even have to wield it well--the key would be to impress upon my enemies that I am an untouchable demigod, a monster among men, and that they should drop their own weapons and bow to my demands. Because if I can stride into their midst with a weapon that became outdated in the Renaissance, fully capable of surviving everything they throw at me and easily killing any of them I put my sword against, won't I make a more memorable impression in the minds of mortals than if I merely shot them from afar?

I keep seeing this trailer for a show called "Powers" on YouTube. I'm sure that the show isn't remotely similar to Steelheart in its content, but every time I see this ad I'm consistently reminded of the Reckonerverse. Am I the only one who can forge the connection that unites the books and the Playstation trailer--the theme of normal humans rising as heroes in a world of demigods?

Awesome ideas, everyone. One idea I had today involves a debunked paleontological theory applied to xenobiology. For most of the history of paleontology, scientists assumed that dinosaurs were slow, lumbering creatures that dragged their tails along the ground. The theory was debunked when dinosaur trackways were found, which showed clear footprints but no sign of tail-dragging. A new model of dinosaur stance was devised, which envisioned them as the sleek, dynamic creatures currently accepted by science and popularized by movies such as Jurassic Park. My idea's a basic one--simply envision a world where the initial theory was correct. A world in its primordial infancy, life still fresh from the sea, where the largest group of land animals are sluggish, brutish reptiles that drag their tails along the ground and can hardly reach running speeds. For added amusement, introduce common Earth-dogs to the planet and allow them to wreak havoc with the fragile primordial ecosystem. Let's deconstruct the growing trope of dinosaurs being stronger, faster, and somehow inherently superior to modern fauna.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Kobold King replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
"No, I swear I'm not a communist! These are just symbols from my favorite book. It's about a guy who overthrows a society ruled by a rich aristocracy who are violently oppressing a segregated lower class. He achieves his goals by assassinating noblemen and rallying the common people to revolt!" "..." "...Oh rust."
