  1. I've seen a theory like this before, and I like it a lot. To add to it, have you considered the fact that "Kelek's breath" is used as an expletive in parts of Roshar?
  2. Oooh... I'd been thinking there was going to be a massively important Reader/Autumn scene as soon as I posted a Backtrack PoV. I didn't realize the two schemes were one and the same.
  3. So it's not related to that thing you and mail-mi have been plotting?
  4. Before or after I do the Backtrack post?
  5. That one surprised me, but in hindsight it seems obvious. Perhaps a little too obvious, actually--maybe Brandon's misleading us, and Stick's actually a Herald?
  6. If you're guessing "With terror, panic, confusion, and a failed attempt at impressing MV with his non-existent coolness," then congratulations. You'll go places with that keen intuition.
  7. According to a WoB I saw on Reddit, we'll see interludes from Axies, Rock, Pattern, Wayne, Steelheart, and a badchull Lift with an eyepatch from the future in this book. So excited!
  8. I am known far and wide as a judgmental jerk who hates fun in all its forms, so I wouldn't lay blame at yours or Liam's feet. It's not my birthday, but it might as well be with that adorably awesome card.
  9. I'm really sorry for making a big deal out of this. I don't think it's strictly necessary. It just confused me like everything else has today, and it feels too weird to upvote the well-written post because the poster isn't who who he/she says he/she is... Augh. Sorry for ruining the joke. It's not even a fraction of the big deal I've made it out to be.
  10. Ah, OK. Can I ask who REALLY wrote that last RP post? I hate sounding like I hate fun, and I'm not angry or anything, but honestly I think jumbling the povs on the thread proper was kind of pushing it.
  11. No, and it was an awesome post. Sorry I didn't come through on my commitment fast enough.
  12. It's not a big deal. It's just confusing, especially as a couple of times I've started replying to posts as if I were speaking to the person I thought was posting. Imagine if your real-life friends all changed faces and voices for a day. It'd be really darn confusing. Anyway, I'll be keeping the Pinkie Pie gifs in reserve.
  13. I don't have the willpower to stay off. (They're yours whenever you want 'em on the WHOOC thread. ) I'm going to seriously throw an Internet party when you (Liam) and mail-mi (Danielle) change your names back.
  14. Not at all, I think he'd be a perfect fit for the "What Happened in the Underground City of the Pulponites" thread Twi and I have been plotting.
  15. As far as I know only two people switched profiles for April Fool's. It's still really disgruntling me.

Oh, I actually read that webcomic. I hate to admit--no who am I kidding, I love to say it--I'm basically the same Jared from the comic. :P

Good. That's always how i've pictured you. (At least since I stopped picturing you as a literal Kobold.)

  16. Gosh darn it, fell for it again when I looked at the Reckoners board. I keep forgetting you two switched avatars. Oh well. At least all this confusion happens to coincidentally fall on the same date I decided to leave this site forever. TwiLyght--mail_mi, Danielle, whoever you are--you get Lightwards. Edgedancer gets Sam and Revolution. Mailliw gets Aldo and Cricket. Voidus gets Vondra. Winter can have Backtrack, and you can fight over the rest yourselves. I bequeath my rep to the Only Joe. It's been nice knowing you.
  17. Daniel and Liana? Somehow that wouldn't make it any easier to distinguish them. I was going to ask why no one offered to switch with me, but... * eyes flit nervously to current rep *
  18. It took me far longer than it should have for me to realize why mail-mi was replying to my Alan with TwiLyght.
  19. I like the crown. It fits their over-confidence and collective god complexes better.
  20. The WHOOC thread's gotta be confusing enough for new players. That sums me up in the winter. (Minus the skirt. I don't make as regular a habit of wearing skirts or dresses as you do. ) You can only chase chickens and sheep through so many blizzards before you start building up a resistance towards the code. And I like to think I'm building up a resistance to heat now. I'm already more capable of withstanding the brutal summers here than I was when I moved here a few years ago. Eventually I might even feel comfortable calling myself an outdoorsman.
  21. I vote yes. Now imagine that you have a farm to take care of, so you'll have to feed and water chickens and a goat every day regardless of the heat. Also, the goat gets dehydrated and drains her trough every day, so you'll have to carry a heck of a lot of buckets. (Though it should be noted that I love my homesteading lifestyle. While I enjoy complaining, the fact of the matter is that I'm way happier living in a plywood cabin in the middle of the scrubland than I ever was in a richly furnished, air-conditioned house in the city.)
  22. If I were the Adventurer, I'd refer to Australia as "the boss level." As far as I know. Dunno. I don't have a thermometer either. I do know it can reach triple digits in the summer though--we spend most of our days either napping or staring dumbly at our computer screens on those days. (When our computers aren't overheating and dying from over-exertion, that is.)
  23. You're not making this any more comforting for me. I feel like I'm being baked into a crisp by the sun and eaten alive by insects here in Texas, and it's not even summer yet. Do you have air-conditioning, at least? Because I don't.
  24. Yikes. At least we can count on our shade trees to not give showers of huge, hairy, and inexplicably huggable death here in the States.
  25. I feel like I'm being poked and prodded to move more quickly into a deep, dark hole that I can't see the bottom of. (And sorry to hear that about Australia, Voidus. I don't know which would get to me first--the long waits for absurdly expensive products, or the constant threat of a hostile dingo takeover of the continent. You guys have it rough over there.)
