  1. I'm guessing that when you say "any" you're excluding Sadeas, Straff Venture, Rayse, and a few others I could name.
  2. Silly Edgedancer. The Alicorn of awesomeness is named Luna. I almost switched back to Lightwards.
  3. Princess Luna is probably my favorite pony. I mean, she's basically outer space ponified. How could I pick any other? The crown on the other one was specifically found and placed to look as weird as possible as a joke. So no need for the unsure smiley.
  4. Pros: is oddly compelling, and theoretically reflects my title as "Kobold King." Cons: is mistaken for a dinosaur.
  5. I'm still trying to find the perfect profile picture for myself. The one that I'll someday switch to and never change again. I have some ideas... ...But not any good ideas. I'll probably end up changing back to Steampunk!Whooves in a minute.
  6. There are too many books in the world to read in one lifetime, so there's no sense in wasting time with the mediocre. Uh, wait, this isn't what it looks like... oh drat. It's exactly what it looks like. I fell in love with Luna as the captain of a starship, so I thought I'd try the profile picture on when I thought no one was looking.
  7. Huh. Sounds vaguely interesting, but not interesting enough for me to want to read the book. Maybe it's just me, but I think settings work best when either the rules they operate by are simple to understand, or when they're introduced slowly and delicately, preferably with the viewpoint characters being just as mystified by the system as the readers are.
  8. I watched "Rarity Takes Manehattan" and now I can't stop d'awwing over Coco Pommel HALP

    1. Jo and the Bush

I especially loved the lampshading about musicals. :D

Rainbow: Ponies just bursting into song in random places at the drop of a hat? Who does that?!

Rarity: Oh, Manehattan, what you do to me

  9. Not having read Divergent, this post is utterly nonsensical to nigh-humorous levels for me.
  10. "Ambivalent" is too strong a word for what I feel.
  11. I should upvote this... Meh. Maybe later.
  12. I'm really digging my mental montage of MV tossing pandas, Reader getting pantsed, Deathwish getting slapped, and Backtrack trying to find a place to hide all to "Eye of the Tiger" blaring from Glamour's headphones.
  13. Yep. It's been hard, but he's managed to stay in power so far through paranoia and use of bountiful overkill against any Epic that threatens the establishment. The fact that Koschei probably killed off a lot of the Epics that once lived in The Dalles likely helps the situation. That said, Blackhoof's right that he can't keep this up forever. I think The Dalles' current situation of being flooded with new Epics all at once is where the cracks in Vondra's methodology will begin to show.
  14. Vondra's a blunt kind of man; he'll ask point-blank, preferably out of Shiny's range of hearing, whether Autumn has any interest in being romantically involved with Shiny Sparkle. If she says yes, he'll privately doubt her sincerity but will not press the issue--though still mandating that they take the relationship slow, and possibly even that they share separate quarters for the time being. If she says no--even a weak, dodging-the-question kind of no--he will order that the relationship cease immediately, and will make sure that Shiny's informed that attempting to force the issue will result in him giving the order to terminate her on sight to all members of the City Guard. Vondra isn't one to make compromises with Epics. Which admittedly may be what results in the fall of The Dalles, but it's part of his personality nonetheless.
  15. Even convincing him that Shiny's genuinely infatuated with Autumn wouldn't make his opinion any softer; the lack of consent in their relationship would be enough for him to order a prompt assassination of Shiny through any means he can manage. He harbors a furious hatred for Epics who use their powers as a means of defying the law, and especially for Epics who view vanillas as slaves or pets. He doesn't let Deathwish have his pick of the women in town, and he certainly won't let Shiny do so either.
  16. After the panda/Frequency invasion, perhaps. I can say this for certain right now: Vondra is not going to like Shiny Sparkle. At all.
  17. Autumn's still a kind and pleasant person. Vondra's a good man, but he's drifted far more to the Crazy Prepared and occasionally Well-Intentioned Extremist tropes. Also, I want to see one of Autumn and Vondra's report sessions at some point. A scene like that with the two of them could really illustrate their respective characterizations. Especially Autumn's, with the specific details she chooses to bring up.
  18. Vondra's more paranoid about the Epics in his service than he lets on. He strives to know as much about their lives and limitations as he can, so I imagine he regularly has Autumn come to his office to report on the psychological going-ons of the City Guard. With that being the case, could I get either an invite to the current Scribber conversation or a copy of the info?
  19. How much does Autumn tell Vondra about what she learns from the Epics who walk in her door? Is she against divulging the personal details she learns? Vondra would definitely have asked at some point.
  20. Awesome, thanks! They've been dutifully added to the Vault, along with a code for Karl Marx. If we're truly interested in ruining Backtrack's day destroying Oregon, we might as well run with this killing spree idea of yours.
  21. The more science you understand, the better you will be able to create Epics that break specific laws of physics.
  22. Your fingers are entitled to their own opinions. I won't judge them.
  23. Welcome to the party. And while most of us are older, none of us have lost that peculiar mix of insanity and creativity that defines youth.
