  1. Yeah, but Inception never had a dismal 20% on Rotten Tomatoes, like Sucker Punch does. However Howard (of Schlock Mercenary) did like it, so maybe there's hope.
  2. I don't know if anyone else had picked it out, but Zas just discovered this FAQ about The Way of Kings on Goodreads, which happened in December: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/446239-q-a-with-brandon-sanderson-way-of-kings Alternatively, you can read it at Zas's fantastic Brandonothology, which if you aren't aware, contains pretty much every Q&A ever with Brandon (that relates to the cosmere, at least). This Goodreads Q&A is listed at the top, as "Goodreads 2.0" (Slight spoilers ahead) As far as content goes, it's quite fascinating. For one thing, Brandon thinks "Shardholder" is a term that can get confused with "Shardbearer", so he just refers to them as Shards. He discusses some of the reasons for safe hands. He confirms that Kaladin will have a second flashback book (this was uncertain at the time of 17S's August interview with him). People who are not Heralds can wield Honorblades. And a whole lot more, like a cryptic clue as to Syl and Kaladin's bond. Go check it out. EDIT: Zas has also uncovered another one, via reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/Fantasy_Bookclub/comments/fuq0p/qa_with_brandon_sanderson/

  4. Well, they are distinct entities. Tanavast is the Shardholder. He is the mind which controls the Shard's power. The consciousness. Honor is the force itself, separate from the mind. Of course, Tanavast's mind eventually gets molded to the Shard's Intent, as is normal. But they are distinct entities, in a manner of speaking.
  5. That's awesome. ======= I would like to announce that I am at last starting the Complete, Unabridged Guide to the Cosmere. It's so challenging to convey all this information in a concise, logical fashion.
  6. Okay, let me rephrase. They no longer use their bodies But you're exactly right, they obviously still exist.

I'm not sure why the Vericon report didn't appear, but Save Vin did, so the feed DOES work. Something weird happened to Vericon, unfortunately.
  8. Well, for one thing is that burning a Hemalurgically charged has no special magical power like burning a generally charged Feruchemical metal. In order for you to burn a Hemalurgically charged metal and gain extra power, you'd have to spike yourself, so the metal was charged with your power. I shouldn't have to say that this is more than somewhat improbable
  9. I think Alloy of Law occurs before the 1900s, actually. The second trilogy will be more modern era, and the third will be sci-fi.
  10. My gut instinct is no. I mean, they don't really have physical forms anymore; their body is vaporized, until they die. It'd be pretty hard to make babies. I think it means more of a magical thing. Technically any of their creation could be considered children, not excluding magic. I think it refers to Kaladin's Windrunner nature.
  11. Oh, I'm glad you have a good sense of humor. I know a few people that, when offended, they could say nice things in a way that's "oh, you're so polite!" when they are just saying you were rude. Yay for Brandon fans being intelligent, cool, and funny people!
  12. Truly an earth shattering theory. But what if it isn't a sitcom. Instead, it's a soap. Aona returns from the grave, and Kaladin begins to romance her. Skai is not thrilled. And Hoid is pregnant.
  13. (Moved ) I thought it was sheer brilliance. Absolute gem.
  14. Okay, point. How about Commonly Espoused?
  15. I'm bumping this thread, because it's important. I want your guys' honest opinion: do you accept this theory? Is there any dissent about it? In the upcoming Introduction to Cosmere Guide, I'd like to know if I can legitimately say this is a Commonly Accepted Theory.
  16. Fine, fine. You know there's going to exist a thread on it eventually. Someone will make it.
  17. 'Kay, cool. (I once found someone who didn't like Mistborn. That was an awkward conversation) Yeah, I think waiting until it's in paperback is a good idea. Whether we're all going to read the book or not, we can agree Paolini is certainly not worth $20.
  18. to open doors
  19. I'm indecisive about this at the moment. I'm not eager to read another Brisingr (sorry leinton, it was just... so boring. Never should I have to read the sentence "Eragon ate a large meal"). At all. But dang it, I am almost masochistic enough to read Inheritance.
  20. I have been listening to Chocolate Love all today.
  21. eat a cookie
  22. Gasp, this reminds me I should make a politics thread.
  23. (Yeah, I totally know. "hard to open" was what I was going for, and it just couldn't be helped!) annoyed Raoden. He
  24. I'm reminded of a story where a person in his writing group (possibly Dan) thought the safe hand was really dumb, but Brandon kept it anyway. There has to be a logic behind it for him to keep something that people would think "man, that's silly" in the book.
  25. the Dor hard
