I feel like the best idea would be to use https://www.17thshard.com/forums/forum/26-general-brandon-discussion/ and just specify what series you want to discuss there so it's clear you want to talk to discuss Rithmatist and Cytoverse, for example. In general, forums are decreasing in use and I think we are hesitant to make additional forums. Noncosmere gets significantly less traction, so I am not sure how active it even could be. But yeah, maybe the General Brandon board would work.

So I have been thinking about this some, and this is a difficult restructuring discussion for sure. My first thought was that, hey, what if we put Southern Scadrian info on the main Scadrial page? But looking at it now, the main Scadrial planet page is very northern Scadrial focused. I do think there is merit for a while still having some sort of southern landing page, as there are similar ties to their history and culture... But then, do we want maybe a similar page for the north, so the de facto place for that information is not just the main Scadrial page? Do we want the Malwish Consortium page to eventually take over the role of the Southern Scadrian/Southern Scadrial page... certainly the northerner world map just lumps it all together but that may not actually be culturally accurate. I sure wish we had more info...

Yeah, not even Defiant is getting discussion on the forums, so it is likely we will need to continue condensing forums, or using subforums more. It is just a fact that the Discord server is far more active for book discussion.

Yes, it is our style guide to not use curly quotes, because of issues like this, but it seems odd to me that you are having issues with this in... creating links? The standard ''' is what you do for, say, bold and italic in wikitext, so this is a little confusing to me.

High school sucks. College is way, way better. Being able to go to a class and just have a break for several hours is awesome, compared to being in school for eight hours straight. You can choose who to associate with way easier... yeah, high school blows. Am I terrifying? I don't think so. I'm just chilling. I think I just have this reputation because I am often taking the role as Bad Cop during moderation. (Admittedly, I do kind of enjoy it; I don't take crap from people.) But yeah, I'm just a nerd. Check me out on Shardcast, that'll probably humanize me more. Oh, I can, it's just low priority. There are many, many, many things I can do, and some things are just... way less important than others. Banned accounts are totally irrelevant so it's like, that's so far down the list, you know? Now, being able to prevent them from registering would be great. That's what I really want.

To me, I think I'd need to see an example of what a solo page of this could look like. Not every religion needs its own page, and I think its perfectly acceptable to have smaller ones be joined if there is an obvious "parent" article it can go in. For Sliverism, there kind of isn't that, because the time period it involves is past the Steel Ministry's existence. That one kind of has to be a solo article. There are lots of things that people could reasonably organize in different ways. I'm definitely open to seeing what a solo page of that would look like, but to my recollection the Hallendren page has most of the information I can remember. Like, here's a thing to consider: if there's a solo page for it, is there enough detail on the solo page that wouldn't just be in a summarization of Iridescent Tones stuff on the Hallandren page? We don't want stuff duplicated generally, but certainly when there is a "main page" that links to smaller topics, the bigger page talks a bit about it and then there's more detail on said subject on the smaller page. But we wouldn't want the exact same information on both, otherwise it's pointless to have people click and just read the same stuff. One example I can recall is that we used to have a separate ardent page, which later merged with Vorinism. (In fact, there are a ton of very minor Vorin terms mentioned once or twice that were definitely suggested to be merged, too.) You could definitely make an argument for separating them, for sure, but almost with little editing, pasting it into a Priesthood section accomplished the same thing, and in my opinion makes the Vorinism page more whole. Reasonable minds will differ! Anyway, feel free to try to draft up a version of a solo page for us to evaluate. I'm down to consider that, for sure!

This should not be the case, and was not the case when I looked at the setting. I switched it to something else and then set it back. How about now? Members should have unlimited search quota. Perhaps some upgrade weirdness with settings. The answer to why that's a thing is because searching so much content is expensive on the server.

Like how long since we updated the forums to this version? Ooof, years. We were really behind on versions. 2016 or 2017.

So I did discover when posting Illicit Affairs that the News database had a character limit--it was about 8000 words--and I could adjust that to make it a non-issue. I do not believe that applies to posts. The new site version could potentially differ but I do not know of any. Still I'd save the original doc in case posting leads to issues.

There's not too much customizability on that sidebar, but I can check.

As I said, we do not have a limit enabled on these, so this must be a software bug. I definitely understand that annoyance, but I have checked the setting. We don't have a limit engaged on them. I don't know why that's happening, but yeah. In the meantime, I would encourage you to paste your contact responses--as those fields will go away and be removed--and reformulate them into an About Me page. You should do this regardless of the character limit.

This is definitely being discussed. Eventually, for sure!

It's been a thing mentioned. Invision Power Suite did change that. We are looking into how we can adjust the email template.
