Question

Posted (edited)

Is it Mo-ash or Mowsh? Or something else entirely?

I've always done it Mowsh, but my mom has been reading Stormlight and insists it is Mo-ash. So I wanted an arbiter (rep level pun definitely intended).

Mow Ash.

Which now, to me, sounds like an activity one might find themselves doing on Scadrial, though for what reason I couldn't fathom.

I say it Moe-Ash

According to Brandon, his fans can pronounce any name, anyway they want.

Added (w) same sound (mow) but just more clear that’s what I meant

Mo-ash. It helps to remember that he was named for a man called Mo-she. Who apparently found his name being given for one of the Cosmere’s most hated characters amusing...

Good to hear that confirmed, I always wondered if Moshe was his namesake.

One syllable. M-oa-sh  (“oa” as in “boat”)

he doesn’t deserve 2 syllables.

In the audiobook it was pronounced MOW-ash. From my experience the audiobooks are usually right about name pronunciations, but it's annoying if you had been erroneously pronouncing a name in your head...
