Kelsier flicked the motor on, they pulled up his speed bubble.

I can do this. I adjusted to my glasses, I can adjust to this. They started moving.

From what I can guess, this would be more like adjusting to seeing the world upside down.

That is optimistic! Optimists are quite realistic. It takes a few weeks to a month, but by the end of the year she won’t even think twice about the dual vision!

The thing is, I've had my glasses for a while, and I'm still not completely used to them. :P

I wonder what type of motor this has.

First: you don’t wear glasses 24/7. They correct vision, as opposed to significantly altering it.

Second: are you sure you have the correct prescription? If your glasses are still giving you headaches after two weeks, go back to the optometrist.

Odds are the prescription is wrong or the lenses are the wrong prescription, or there’s something wrong with the lenses. The frames might not fit you properly, or you may have an undiagnosed stigmatism and need two different lens prescriptions.

There are many reasons why your glasses may not be working properly for you. But it does need to be fixed or it will damage your vision. Please go see your eye doctor and explain the problem to him.

True.

Also, I wear them very rarely. I've had them for a few months, and don't really need to use them often.

That could be it then. It usually takes a week or two to adjust, especially if you haven’t worn glasses before. I’ve had them since I was ten, so... Experience.

Kelsier leaned back, occasionally moving the helm to correct course.

Lilliana, still trying to get herself oriented, looked around. Remember: The human brain can adapt to almost anything.

Hoblim finished solving the cube, and found that his stress didn't ease. He eyed the books in Lilliana's bag - but no, this was going a little to far for him.

He tried to find another way to distract himself, though he knew the only thing that'll work was reading a book. In the end he just sighed, took a new page out of his nylon case and started writing things on it.

"You said your name was Hoblim, yeah?"

Kelsier is focusing on keeping the speedbubble centered on him, so he won’t speak to you unless you engage him.

Lilliana has Sensory Processing issues. She's too overwhelmed right now. Until she gets a bit more used to the spike, she's not going to be starting any conversations. And she's not going to be acting the same.

Then I’m just skipping to the Perpendicularity.

Eventually they arrived at the Perpendicularity.

”Here,” Kelsier said, offering a large strip of cloth. “Use it to cover the spike. It’ll draw too much attention in Elendel.”

She covered the spike. She was still really disoriented. She had been quiet, and had been shutting her eye when possible. "Thanks."

He nodded, uncharacteristically somber. “You’re welcome.”

Then he smiled brightly again. “Ready to swim in Saze’s pool?”

"Sure." She said, still a bit overwhelmed.

Kelsier sighed, lifting her in his arms like a child.  “I’ll transition us. The first time, as your body’s restored, can be a bit... odd.” To say the least.

Ack! Well... That was sudden. And how could it be weirder than dying, or getting stabbed in the eye with a spike. "Um, okay?"

Kelsier smiled reassuringly, before wading into the pool. He stood in the center for a moment, cradling Lilliana, and then -

They were back in the Physical Realm.

I'm just going to guess...

Okay, yeah. That was really weird. Her body felt strange. It's like when my foot falls asleep, but across my whole body. "Um, you can put me down now..." This is not how I expected today to go. At all. In any way, shape, or form. Nothing has gone according to plan.

Kelsier shook his head. “Sorry, kid. But we’ll move a lot faster if I carry you.” He smirked. “Unless you’ve suddenly learned to fly faster than the speed of sound, of course.”

She sighed. I Wish. "Okay." I've got a bad feeling about this.

He grinned, then sent them both soaring into the air. Tapping speed, they flew back to Elendel.

Wow. This beats any roller coaster ever. Except for the fact that I feel like I can't breathe without swallowing my tongue.

A few minutes later they landed in a deserted alley near the guest house. “Stay close,” Kelsier warned, setting Lilli down and pulling on his gloves. “I don’t want to risk you being attacked again.”
